  • Just be careful that momma don't find you. That would be bad.

  • Awww so cute I just love these babies.

  • Aw poor babies...Look at that one going, "Who are you? You're not my mommy."

  • Aw...poor baby :(

  • I. Know you wanted to research. But I think it was best to leave them. They're just babies they don't know what to do. They don't have much to protect themselves with.

  • Awww, you really scared them. You should have left them alone. >:-(

  • It doesn't seem too wise to crawl into the cave of a mother mountain lion!! That's like smearing honey on your kid so the bear cubs will kiss it and you can take a picture (true story).

  • burmese cat noise

  • They are so adorable! <3 Where's their mama?

  • soooooooooooooo cuuuuuuuuuuute the brave camera man desurve 1 billion subscribe :D

  • aww there so scared

  • sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • well we know who the big brother is... :P

  • ehhhh nothing bad could happen mr/mrs person with camera....

  • awwwwwwww

  • Well it's gotta be good for them to scare the crap out of them. Some wildlife expert.

  • @LisaBaby67 Well sometimes it's a good thing to scare them, that way they won't wander into an area inhabited by people, thus getting captured and most likely put down. But I agree with you. They shouldn't have done this.

  • @FalloutRadius I know very well that they shouldn't get too comfortable around people, but this just looked sad to me. Mama left them in a den where she thought they'd be safe and somebody intruded.

  • @LisaBaby67 I know, I agree. Those big blue eyes are so cute but have the look of terror about them... but no worries. I bet the mom will smell them even after they left and will move.

  • @FalloutRadius lol Those eyes are something else. I'm sure she did. That mama's smarter than those intruders. :)

  • Love how the second kitten is oblivious until halfway through the vid, then it wakes up and decides it's time to go. Also love how the first kitten was hissing to cover its sibling's retreat. That's love right there. You could tell the first kitten was terrified, but it helped its sibling get to safety first.

  • opps :p

  • How did the mother die?

  • Awww, they are so precious! You head will explode from their cuteness. I wouldn't stayed longer than 2 seconds though, cause the momma is probably nearby.

  • @mariesadler They were keeping track of where the mother was by checking for her radio collar transmission.

This is kind of a heart-breaking video -- the kittens' mother died a few months after this video was taken and the kittens would have been too young to survive on their own for very long.

  • @gwendelk well did u take them or do something?Did you hand raise them or were they already to afraid n couldnt be handled? Extremely cute cubs!

  • @ALoveForOrcas I wasn't there. I just read the information that was on the site (not just the article linked to in this video's description, but the other related articles). My presumption based on what I read is that they did not rescue the kittens, which is why I found this video kind of heart-breaking. (Biologist Eric York also died unexpectedly a few months after this video was shot, from a disease contracted from the dead mother of these kittens, which just adds to the sadness.)

  • @gwendelk - aww thats so sad. I wonder what the mother had? Poor things. Poor guy. . which site did you find this at?

  • @ALoveForOrcas The site that's in the video description.

  • @gwendelk If he got the disease from the cats, then chances are the kittens were also infected, and would possibly have started a pandemic at whatever rescue center they were brought to.

  • @AtarahDerek Very possible.

  • I wonder why some of the most beatiful animals are the most dangerous

  • if mommy had come back she would have probably gotten darted or shot

  • the one on the right is like gtfo my bitch

  • Oh no Aliens! Hide behind me and I will tell them to bugger off!

  • The poor things look scared silly! I am amazed that mommy didn't come a running. YOu may not have seen but I'm sure she was close by.

  • That is sooo dangerous. If Mama Lion is around trouble will hit the fan, quick.

  • @subjectofthecrown That's why you carry a tranquilizer gun. and a 9mm.

  • haha love the way one step on the other and goes behind.

  • omg how did you get up sooo close? hey is it okay if i use this for my report its due on tuesday. im doing it on mountain lions. im only 10,

  • that is tooooo cute!!!

  • Mommas gonna get you.

  • i hope you keep track of those mountain cougars and record them

  • Amazing video!!! Glad you survived to post it. Can you imagine mama cat's anger if she'd caught you so close to her babies? Certainly you left your scent behind - I wonder is she moved her kitties because of it?

  • Is that a mountain lion? But it has spots?

  • @aguswidjaja The spots go away as it ages.

  • @EMPERORMIKI Can I get one from my local pet shop? =)

  • @aguswidjaja I don't think so ... I think they're a protected species.

  • @EMPERORMIKI I was just kidding. But I beleive we need to clone more cute and endangered animals like cougars, pandas, and bears, etc.

  • @aguswidjaja Well the point of the laws are precisely that they're cute when they're young, but they'll probably maul your ass when older ...

but of course preservation of species is something to be respected.

  • @EMPERORMIKI I heard they taste like chicken.

  • @aguswidjaja More like a cross between turkey and beef, actually. But the meat is white like chicken. Ground up, it works well for stew.

In my defense, I had no idea I was eating such a beautiful cat until after I'd finished. As a rule, I try not to eat my fellow hunters. I love cougars, but not in the "on toast, smothered in jam" sense.

  • haha he called out Oh Yikes! i would to but in fear of, wheres ma-ma? lol

  • Omg how cute! But don't be fooled, they still have those little teeth ^.^

  • Whoever is filming this is BRAVE. Mom can't be too far off.

  • Poor things are terrified. If mommy comes back the camera person is lunch! Haha.

  • Cougars (et al. ) don't roar , as they don't possess that ability .

They're blind and deaf for their first 2 weeks , just like our 'domestic' kitties ( or any mammal , including humans [ excepting that our eyes are physically open ] )

  • @dexamyl Humans are not blind at birth. We have lousy depth perception, and we can only see differences between brightly contrasted colors, but we're certainly not blind. The first thing a newborn will do when nursing for the first time is study the face of his/her mother, taking in all the visual features associated with the familiar voice.

  • Aww...trying to be ferocious, but just end up looking cute. :)

  • Such a amazing animal. I love Cougars so much.

  • how cute hes trying to roar hhh :-D

  • how old were they, they are blind for a while, he might have been scared, doesnt know whats going on.

  • when there eyes are blue that means there under 3 months.. after three months there eyes start to turn yellow

  • Oooooh, look at him, trying to be so tough! How adorable!

  • He looks feisty!

  • So CUTE !

I want to hold a Cougar kitten sooooooo bad !

  • @dexamyl people like you who don't know how to keep their fingers off things cause a lot of damage to animals of all types.

  • @dexamyl and 3 years later from then...

  • So cute

  • aww i love it when babies hiss
