  • Sorry Mike. Maybe you might look it up again but 'Must' does not, in any way, refer to probability. Not logically or otherwise.

    In the same way that 'can't' (or cannot contracted) does not reference improbability, logically or otherwise.

    'Must' is obligatory while 'Might' is a possibility.

    Nice try but I am afraid that you are wrong.

  • He's talking about "must" used to draw conclusions. "He was sneezing and coughing yesterday. He's not in class today. He must be sick." - It's probable that he's sick. Or I'm drawing the conclusion that he's sick. It isn't OBLIGATORY that he be sick.
