Jeez, it was twenty years ago, no I can't document it, but I distinctly remember reading about it in a bowling magazine at the time. Just look at his right foot...doesn't slide a bit, just stops dead. That tells me it's a rubber sole on the shoe, not the soft material used to slide with.

High average bowlers usually use a pair of shoes made for whatever hand they bowl with. If you're right handed, the right foot will be rubber, so you can push into your slide. Opposite for lefties.

Bush's tax increases reduced the deficit (he required the Dems to use them for that purpose) and laid the groundwork for the Clinton recovery- even Clinton would tell you that. He was phenomenal on foreign policy (USSR, Germany, Gulf War) as well. Had he not been up against the political genius that was Bill Clinton... he would have been re-elected handily.
