@thatReefGuy..im currently starting a 55 gallon also.I like the way u stacked the liverock. Is there any technique u found while stacking.Maybe some sort of patern?
I love when people see a perfectly clean tank, with perfectly healthy and active fish and bitch...too many fish! There are people with tanks twice the size with the same load and their tanks look like shit and their fish suffer.
Would you mind explaining exactly how you successfully aclimated the puffer fish from freshwater to full salt water without ill effects please. I rather like the color he adds to the tank , but would not want to put his health at risk. Thank you very much.
side note, with you complaining about the coral losing color, what do you have for lighting? if your actinics are not strong enough the coral can lose some color.
i love green spotted puffers, i have 2 of them that i bought from walmart and bumped them slowly up to full saltwater, that was about 4 or 5 months ago and they are still doing fantastic, i have not seen the slightest spot of grey on their stomachs since they hit full salt.
Really nice tank. Iv just set up my own 55g reef tank. I have a green spotted puffer and Ceylon/Topaz puffer in my collection so I hope as I add more Corals my puffers keep off them too. Also I want to add a regal Blue Tang but I have been told a 55 gallon tank is to small. Just wondered how yours was doing?
Bro dont listen to the people saying its over crowded the fish look extremely happy and your doing a nice job with the corals and thats all that matter
hey bro, you got a lot of fish in this 55, well christmas is coming right, and i'm thinkign of a getting myself a blue hippo, along with my fish in my 55 (yellow tang, yellow tail damsel, angel damsel, maroon clown, and bicolor blenny and firefish) do you think i can fit a blue tang in
Faaaaaannnnntastic!! Super Cool!!! Do you list somewhere what type of lighting, filters, protein skimmer, etc... you have in there? I kept salts a long time ago but I had a nasty tank, Lion Fish, Stone Fish, Puffers, Triggers, Sting Ray...Was really cool...no corals obviously..lol Live rock though.
The Puffer is a Green Spotted Puffer. It is actuall a Fresh/Brackish Water FIsh that was converted to Salt Water. It does not bother the Corals whatsover and is a very Peaceful Fish.
@thatReefGuy I had a green spotted puffer, little walmart fish. I saved him as he was a little sick fish sold in freshwater, (yes i understand they can be, but i would prefer brackish-marine) i had him in my reef for a while but he was far too mean so i sold him and now he lives happily with other puffers at the real pet store : )
Way to prove to reef elite theories wrong. Tank looks great.
