  • This happened to us in May as well, during a snowstorm. The power went out and then we noticed the orange glow throught the windows. We then rushed outside, it was eerie. Then it turned to green and then darkness. My first thought was that we had been EMP'ed! Others have said it was a power flash but power flashes are short in duration and light up the sky in blue light. What happened to us lasted around 40secs.
