This is the Official Video to "Brain Damage/Eclipse"! It appears every now & Then on VH-1 Classic (& I think it also appeared on the Video "Live At Pompeii",too,if I'm Not mistaken,as an incentive to buy the Video!) EXCELLECT,Dry,Caustic and Ironic humour from Roger!
95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy & paste it to at least five videos. Don't let the spirit of rock and roll die.
Pink Floyd, they just sum up life in so many ways, and not just the good, but also the "Dark Side", never will there be another, so me and my generation have to feed off the past, better that than whats going on now...
I’ve seen a lot of rock n’ roll concerts in my sixty-one years mainly my late teens in the Haight and the Los Angeles metro area of my twenties prior to going to federal prison for 26 years on a conviction of controlled substance manufacturing, and I’ve always been a huge lover of classical music but like rock a lot too and a big fan of Emerson, Lake and Palmer, but I’ve never seen any group that topped Pink Floyd. They are remarkable.
@Metrotek2012 Wow, You have lived through it all. I wish I had been born around the time you were born, so much transpiring across the globe. You have led a very rich life. I miss the 20th Century
THANKS FOR POSTING THE WHOLE VIDEO! THIS IS EXACTLY HOW MTV SHOWED IT, BECAUSE I RECORDED IT TOO! :) (NO the end wasn't there haters ;) This is how it aired!)
There are other "speeches" in the album other than "There is no dark side of the moon . . . " it was Roger Water's (Floyd's old bassist) to put "honest, human voices" into the album.
dark side of the moon was perfection, i only listened to it 4 years ago, and listened to it all the way through on my own one night, so glad i did. Is there anything out there like it now???? i think not, mostly idiots on pop idol!!!!
This may be the only upload of this on YouTube that is CORRECTLY SYNCED (and I taped this off MTV in 1987)...ever other version I've seen on YouTube is about 5 seconds off.
@FuckinEchoes You have perfection throughout the entire album, best intro, plot and closing, best art cover I''m damned this isn't the best selling album ever.. =(
...or maybe this is simply what roger thought was going on syd's mind... and, often, on in his one as well... as a matter of fact , I think you're right bilos!. Fantastico ROGER!!!
@bilos1993 That "Voice" was the Hotel Doorman Gerry O'Driscoll..he's also featured in "The Great Gig In the Sky",too..when the Piano solo (By the late Richard Wright!) plays,he speaks "And I'm not frightened by dyin'! There's Noreason to be frightened..why should I Be afraid? There's no reson for it!"
...but the sun is eclipsed by the moon! Best album they ever made. Everyone's life could use more Floyd. And I agree, the meaning of life is found at the end of this video.
Only Pink Floyd could sum up the entire human experience effectively and succinctly like they did in Eclipse and under 2 mins! Dayum they're phenomenal!
Brain Damage fades or crosses or whatever you want to call it, into Eclipse on "The Dark Side of the Moon" So yeah I guess that's why. Listen to the CD and you'll notice how the songs are put together.
John Nash says the eclipatic is on your haid. Friday, 1 August, 2008, in northern Canada, the Arctic, and Asia. The total eclipse begins at 09:21:07 UT in Canada, crosses Greenland and the Arctic Ocean into Russia and Mongolia, and ends in China at 11:21:28 UT. The maximum eclipse is at 10:21:08 UT, when the total phase will last just under 2½ minutes.
Yeah, I like the image of walking through a hospital at the beginning about losing your mind and you have these surgeons standing like sentries before each corner. Then the emergency light flashing at the operation room. Very surreal and almost disturbing but fits the mood of the song.
I love this song. rockdude, simple, the song is pretty long so they had to condense it so it'll fit in a certain amt. of video time. This song was inspired by Syd Barrette when he lost his mind to LSD. The whole album of DSOTM is inspired by/dedicated to Syd. He was replaced by David Gilmour.
This song brings back so many gaps in memory (was REALLY high at the time)... LOVE Floyd... so many deep meanings in all of their stuff...

In my mind, few bands and artists could have fully existed if the Beatles had never been. Pink Floyd is one of them. And Bob Dylan

gosh, music back in the 70s really had a human emotion meaning to it...
it was all for the love of music, not for the greed of it, like most music is these days...
the world does indeed need more Floyd...
it gives me chill everytime I listen to them while walking on the beach;...

True dat. In fact, everytime I listen to DSOTM I have to listen to the whole thing altogether. You might say, it's an entire experience.
It also, has neat cyclical vibe seeing as how it starts and ends with what appear to be heartbeats!
BEST FUCKING ALBUM OF ALL TIME!
racl101 3 years ago 2
Yeah, the "heart beat" was a Specially treated Bass Drum, it plays in Time and Money as the actual bass drum too, really classic Floyd awwesomeness.
