  • I've been listening to his song for roughly thirty odd years and it still gives me goosebumps. Waylon is awesome.

  • One of the greatest duets of the outlaw era. Thanks for posting this.

  • This is pure COUNTRY!!!

  • 2 of the greatest voices in music ever.

  • This is COUNTRY music! Too bad country music died along with the great legends......

  • @carolinagrl1971 I agree this is true country but not all music now is bad you just have to look hard to find it JAMEY JOHNSON is great for example and there is more.I'm not saying any of them compare to these two but you can go back as far as you want and wont find many that do WAYLON will always be my favorite but there is a few singers out there doing music for the right reasons if they could just get some exposure.TC

  • Ladies and Gentlemen, meet a couple of the founding fathers of country music!

  • @39tommyboy I ain't never heard the story of the time u meet Waylon could ya tell it just one more time , sure would like to hear it

  • ain't heard this for decades? Thanks Carters01

  • country don't get better than THIS !

  • Outlaw country right there. Doing music their way, not for some music executive in Nashville.

Cash, Willie, Waylon, Roger Miller, and Merle. That crew held out for a long time, stemming the movement to slip into the inevitable "pop with a southern accent" garbage that country is today.

  • anyone know what album this song might be on?

  • Well said pnutsdad I sure feel the same Way.

  • Yes Sir!

  • what happens whn two real men with guitars get together.

  • I cant hear it. :(

  • two legends one room. if only we could turn back time. and have went to that show we missed. i did it to. but i did get to meet waylon and willie one time. ive told that story a hundred times so write me if you want to know what was said. god bless.

  • Love this song!

Imaginary man in the sky bless Waylon and Cash.

  • ....when GIANTS walked the earth.....

  • god bless waylon jennings and johnny cash.

  • What'th' he11 did he say? !!!

  • i would have loved to have been there when they lived together. lol i heard some good stories about that time. lol god bless.

  • not much sleeping going on!!!!!!!!!

  • IT JUST DON'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS!

  • Waylon Jennings is like a good ole Jim Beam, gets better with age!

  • Vs. Waylon & Johnny Cash? um, no....

  • Wow, not only can you not read and understand an obvious joke, you probably own at least one Shooter album. You would think that a person with a handle as Steel Guitar Boy might be a steel player. But, on the other hand, why complete you sentences or apply thought? Have a nice day you "Texas Music Fan."

  • If theres a better duo i have never seen it

  • Pancho and Lefty! Cash and Jennings are great, but Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson....

Maybe even Buck Owens and Dwight Yolcum?

  • @waylon fan123 ..and we probably never will

  • @waylonfan123 maybe maybe waylon and hank

  • @waylonfan123 waqylon n willie

  • thx for posting this

  • Legends!! What's Johnny saying at the beginning?

  • I hear ya man!!!

  • These Two Guys Made Me Want To Learn To Play Guitar Write Songs And Sing.Rebels That Fought The System ,They Did The Music Their Way.They Sold A Ton Of Records ,Wrote A Lot Of Good Songs,And Their Music Is Still Being Played!!!!They're Like Good Whiskey You Can Never Get Enough!!!

  • lol yeah and they get better with age... :)

  • Johnny Cash & Waylon Jennings was it

  • Solid country gold....

  • As good as it gets . . .

  • I love this! I wish the sound were better!!!!!!

  • What's with the Spanish at the beginning?

  • Subliminal messages

  • i love waylon and johnny most amazing voices ever

  • yea, Waylon had it......It takes courage and honesty to tell the truth. Once its in black and white tis so easy to put feeling behind what you wanna say. He did it in all the songs he wrote!

  • He did it in his book too, and it caused some hard feelings in his family. A woman in Littlefield, TX told me "he was just telling it like it was".

  • Two of the worlds greatest countrygigants!! That just can be really great - mmmmm!!:-)))

  • Absolutely great!

  • Simply Awesone. Cash, Jennings and Coe are the all-time greatest.

  • I suppose there probably "aint no good chain gang".

  • simply the best!!!

  • that was a great show...saw it in NY...country comes to the city......

  • Saw Johnnie, Waylon, Willie & Khris in mid 80's as "The Highwaymen". The absolute best concert I've ever seen !!! Center stage some 25 rows back....what a show from a bunch of country outlaws !!!!

  • wow I am jealous. I never got to see johnny of waylon live.

  • one of the best duets in history. when they are together they are unstoppable

  • Uh David Allen Coe plays on Johnny Reb albums. Do any of you know about modern white supremacy and the KKK? Cash and Jennings would have nothing to do with any of that!!!! FUCK david allen asshole!!

  • saw waylon and david allan coe in louisville ky,back in the early eightys, dumbass.

  • Yeah so?

  • white power

  • what is to be said about this video,

    johnny and waylon

    give up to the best

  • Wow is this old...thank you Mom & Auntie Boop for listening & loving Waylon when I was young. I still remember the day the whole family painted the house and you had Waylon's record playng on the stereo..I was hooked on him from that day forward!

  • it's the nashville "suits" that control an artist's image and style.

artist's have to play along or do their OWN advertising and distributing. and without the "suits" probably couldn't get their records played on top 40.

    just my opinion.

  • When I was about 30 years younger, I thought Waylon was about the hottest thing around.

  • thank the lord i have not had it that way a chane ooonoo

  • I wish some of these younger "country" artists would watch this video so they would know what the hell country is suppose to be. I'm so sick, and tired of these pop country crap that gets played today, and I work at a country radio station. But Big City radio stations decide what is top 40,and that's the crap we get shoved down our friggin throats. We get more requests for oldies then we do for our top 40 garbage.

  • Johnny was from rural Arkansas and Waylon was from rural Texas. What you get today is "country" singers from cities, how in the hell would they know what country is when they arent country to start with.

  • They weren't mainstream country back then, they were the "outlaws"...had Nashville gritting their teeth...

  • I hear what you are saying. In my humble opinion, country music today sucks.

  • @pnutsdad The younger 'country' artists could watch this video but they wouldn't get it. Waylon and Cash were such badasses because they lived that way. They weren't corporate cookie cutter products. And as Waylonfan 123 said, you ain't going to find a better duo anywhere...

  • @pnutsdad could not have said it better my self tell em

  • @pnutsdad AMEN to THAT!

  • @pnutsdad i can see why pnuts. i can see why

  • @pnutsdad theres still real country around, listen to hank 3, bob wayne, shooter jennings, the devil makes three.

  • @pnutsdad Boy you hit the nail on the head. I feel sorry for the music of today. Kids today think that country music is pop country. I miss the day that a song was written with feeling and a story behind it.

  • Whats amazing is how all these guys songs sound just the same live as they do on the album. They didnt need any filters or recording booths, sounds good live.

  • Exactly. You can't say the same for a lot or

erm..artists today. Although there is plenty

of qaulity country music being played today,

there's plenty of rubbish as well.

  • unbelievable

  • The chain gang with all the rangers players would be good!

  • Not if you mean the baseball team. ;)

  • GOD I LOVE THESE GUYS!!!!

  • Lovvvvvve Waylon he rules forever!!!!!!!

  • yes sir........thanx for the post

  • i love this song.

  • thanx!!!

  • johnny,Waylon,Willy,Hank jr,Hank sr,and Goerge Jones is there any better?

  • don't forget about merle!!!

  • Absolutely not!!!

  • Don't forget about Don Williams!!!

  • do you know waylon wrote a song about another out law name johnny paycheck

  • johnny paycheck wrote " take this job and shove" and other great hits. what song did waylon write about him´? paycheck was a big act and country star.

  • it was called' don't you think this outlaw thing done got out of hand

  • He wrote the song "Dont you think this outlaw bit done got of hand" after he got arrested in New York for something he never did. It got nothing to do with Johnny Paycheck

  • David Allan Coe wrote Take this Job&Shove It

  • no he did not, he just sang it. 'outlaw bit' was about johnny paycheck? i doubt it.

  • Yes he did !

  • Actually , David Allan Coe wrote that song ...

  • dac wrote alot of songs that where hits

  • great song with Waylon and Johnny Love the song there isn't many songs that i don't like by Waylon, or Johnny and Willie; Audio was a little low but great video; Thanks for sharing it with us.

  • Whatever, Waylon made his own music and his distinct guitar sound all on his own.

  • They were great musicians but you all have to remember they WERE marketable material for the record lables. The outlaw movement only lasted so long. They still had to please the powers that be. Both were addicted to drugs.

Johnny had helped Waylon along the way.

  • hey, just remember waylon an johnny will never be topped and both struggled ecause of their refusal to bend for labels, though both may have done so slightly, they will always remain th greatest country artists ever

  • The Outlaw Movement came and went because they set out to simply do what they wanted to do with their music. The Outlaw moniker was pinned onto them by the industry itself because they were looking for a more Rock and Roll sound instead of the traditional Nashville sound of the era.

The powers to be worked harder to please them, Waylon had Country music's first platinum record and a long string of smash hits. They didn't want to lose him.

  • Each one of these guys is great by himself. and whammo put the two of them together and you have the best of the best! They were so sexy at that age too!

  • YeeeHaaa!!! It's time to double the trouble!!! Here comes the outlaws!!!

  • its really quiet

  • huh?

  • Johnny and Waylon is great singers!!!!thanks for posting

  • Great song!! from Johnny and Waylon.

    Hail to you Johnny.
