We charge $70 for half hour and $110 for the hour in Australia. Specialised treatments are $150 per hour. It all depends on reputation and treatment rate of success. FYI Remedial Massage.
Nowhere in this video do you answer how much money can be made, or how much you might expect to make. You just listed the different working scenarios and how much of the income you get to keep, not what that income actually entails.
I provided some relevant info; what's the purpose of deleting it? People have posted contrary info. on my site, but I don't delete it, I discuss the topic. If you want to be taken seriously, then don't delete items that are contrary, but rather discuss them; it's the sign of a true professional.
Specialized meaning a certain type of modality ie. Reiki, cranial sacral therapy, Deep tissue. Massage therapists don't just do Swedish massage. We do Hot stone, hydrotherapy. That kind of stuff. The problem is people have their minds in the gutter. This is for therapy and greatly beneficial to your health.
If I've been a massage therapist for 3 years. How much should I be asking for if I am working 5 days sometimes 6 days out the week. 30-36 hrs per week. I make 35% commission right now.
I can imagine that this will always be the case with some people. For myself, I feel I got lucky finding the one I have, regardless of what they charge.
@mrbad101 Not necessarily. Some who are very good might just be starting their business and need to develop clientele. So they may charge less. I've been to places where they charge so much only because it's in a rich part of the city and it's really nice. The owner spent so much money on decor and making the place look like a palace.

@madewithstardust it's usually based on commission. Some where between 35% to 50% of what the customer pays for the massage. It depends on what your boss wants to pay you. So if the massage was worth $70. It's 35% of that or like I said whatever percent the boss wants to pay.

LOL! You can make thousands with "happy ending" technique. What's funny is how seemingly uncomfortable she gets when saying the above quote. I suppose message therapy is a prerequisite for an AA degree in prostitution.
A true professional massage therapist that has taken the right schooling and proper education would be AMTA certified. They will have a license. That person would never do a so called "happy ending". I am sick of these people who call themselves massage therapists who do disgusting services like that give us a bad name. Many many establishments have been shut down because of these happy endings and if they did have a license have gotten it taken away and lost their jobs.

I've been to some that charge $60/hr, some that charge $120/hr.
The $120/hr was a million times better than the $60. Get what you pay for.
Therapists charge more when they know that they are good.

Not necissarily. In my experience price has more to do with location than skill level.

@ravenselene Yeah I work in a small town and so that's probably why I don't make much as a massage therapist.
