RIP tommy ardolino...the best...you gave us great music and the ones who heard you play are the lucky ones... There will never be someone that plays like you...thank you tom
for such a large imposing dude, al anderson sure is a big ol' romantic softie at heart. he's written so many great songs; this one & ridin' in my car are my faves
Just like you, at 50, we've see''m all!! All the stars and shows, But let me tell ya, This is the Best band for the Least amount of money, who put on the Greatest Rock n Roll Show in all the Worst places.....and if you/ve seen them live...you know what I'm talkin' about...The very best American Rock n;Roll band .....NuffSaid!!!!!!
i've been telling people for years.... they're one of our greatest american treasures...
the greatest american rock n'roll band and then some... they've got it all... but unfortunately all didn't get them ! i mean not enough people are aware of them - STILL !
Well he sure did play a nice solo despite being " uncomfortable" if it didn't work he wouldn't be on stage with them . so what is the point of your post ? are we supposed to think less of NRBQ or Phil Woods ? Explain yourself or are you just ?

Phil Woods kicks off his solo quoting Monk's "Little Rootie Tootie" -- right there you know these guy's weren't your average rock band. Yet rock they did! I sure miss 'em.
You might well already know this, but NRBQ do a great version of "Little Rootie Tootie" on the Monk tribute album "That's the Way I Feel Now," which was assembled by Terry Adams.

Phil was NOT enjoying this performance. (I read his comments on his own site) yet he rises to the occasion like the master he is.

Why did he not enjoy it ? What were his comments ?

From his own website forum: "Sure didn't work for me. Never felt so uncomfortable!"
