The DOCTOR was the one that was on the table! Lyrics goes like this..."Now the doctor came in...stinking of gin...and proceeded to lie on the table" "Proceeded" does NOT mean that he "TOLD ROCKY" to lie on the table. Proceeded means: To begin to carry on an action or a process. The doctor was DRUNK so he was the one that needed to lie down on the table.
