Well at least the new locomotives have electronic bells unlike the ES44DCs. Plus I prefer ES44ACs over ES44DCs with the exception of ES40DC, which is owned only by Norfolk Southern.
Nope, reason why is that their are several reasons why first, I like new locomotives,two, these locomotives are basically helping the environment, three, their new horns intrests me, and finally their cab interiors remind me of the following locomotives SD40-2,SD45-2,SD50s,SD60,SD70s,SD70ACE, and any other locomotives that have the same interior as the GEVOs. By the ways if you want to see the interior of a CSX ES44AC type in CSX 736 on the search and it should be the first one.
Do you guys think they will ever make a 6000hp GEVO? I'm they are good despite the fact so far I haven't seen CSX ES44ACs down here in Florida, but I do see ES44DCs, but most of the time SD40-2s and GP40-2s on trains so far.
Oh the CW60AC will be around for a while I can tell you that.That will depend on the emissions the locomotives will have to pass and I've been hearing rumors about a 6000hp GEVO. By the way is there a part 2 to the video where the SD70MAC leaves?
Just an FYI and I hate being the person give people bad news so I apologies for that, but there are 225 ES44ACs being produce. 700-824 are cureently being delivered while 825-924 will be delivered sometime in 2008. They will be heavier so that they can increase tractive effort.They will be used for mostly coal service.I maybe seening these this Friday or sometime very soon in Florida cause they have that coal plant near Orlando where most coal trains orginate.
Oh P.s. I forgot one more thing there bot used only for coal service they'll be used for regular service.Sorry that I have to tell you this since you dislike the GEVOs I'm giving you a head's up.
Electronic Bells? Interesting! I thought the bells sounded like the ones on the old EMD GEEP's!Especially The SD's and some others have the same sound like the new GEvo's. The Rails are on Holiday break until Dec.26,2007!
i knew u wouldn't understand... when u buy the engines from Kliens the wheels are nice and shiny... these gevos have the same look... i know they don't look like SD70's...
By the way i wonder how many coal cars the CSX ES44ACs can haul.
