At the height of REM's success I was outside Brixton Academy in London to see Radiohead perform. Stipe walked out of the Tube station, got cash out of the ATM and walked off as if he were anyone else on the street. No security, no ego, nothing. He truly was a mega star at that time and for me his conduct is what sets him apart from so many others. I think because he acted so anonymously people didnt really notice him. And here he conducts himself like a gentleman...respect.
