Great video. I do believe that YouTube is forgetting about their slogan "Broadcast Yourself". They are taking away a lot of cool stuff that made YouTube What it is. I am no expert on the matter but I should imagine Youtube started with all the right intentions and hence the wonderful sense of community which sprouted up from it but sadly like most successful enterprises in this world it became manipulated by the fat cats of commerce who wish to have their fingers in every pie and in doing so they destroy all they touch. It has to be remembered what created this global community wasn't actually Youtube though, it was folks like you. Great video.

I believe that the reason why they replaced "contacts" for "friends" is to lessen our regard that we have for one another. Friends share experiences, ideas, thoughts, and lessons whereas contacts simply share information. I certainly believe that this minor change is the first step in diminishing our desire to communicate by the elites.

This shit with YT and all the SOPA bullshit is just the start of something a lot bigger my friends. The net started out as a .Gov/Military global info exchange/control center. The only reason they allowed it's use by the public to begin with is they realized how much money it would make them, and they could use it to spy on people. Eventually I see them taking the net back over completely and removing it from public use altogether.

TPTB control everything in the world and they aren't going to allow any competition to threaten their monopoly. And people forget that yt is foremost a VIDEO platform, the clicks bring yt money and like I said before, its all about money and google needs it. Do you know what alone a server costs? Remember you don`t pay anything for using yt so just make the best of what you got. :)

The free 'membership' and free uploads is a lure for potential customers and a pitching ground for the advertisers; just like television - we are 'given' entertainment, but adverts are slotted in to generate money. Now that YT has lots of world-wide interest, Google will start tuning it to get the best performance.

"Taking the 'you' out of YouTube" is spot-on. They're trying to push people to their Google+ junk for "social" stuff. They want everything you do to be under one account, so when they ban it you're effectively shut down across the Internet. Very AOL-esque.
