you see the way Joe is gonna give the guy a high 5 at 2:10 and the guy blows him off..... people get concerned when they perceive someone else as dangerous competition that might take their spot. Joe is not just another flipper, he's really something special so I'm guessing the guys didn't want Joe stealing their thunder..........just my opinion though

@GregOBehave I think it is a shame they didn't reach out and try to really get to know Joe. They might have thought he was arrogant being such a you tube sensation back then but he really is one of the nicest guys ever. I'm not saying Joe is better at every single thing but he's got certain skills that he is the master at and to this date no one has been able to take that away...even those who aren't fans of his admit he is the king of the super high round off back flips.

@kevp951 If the move "super high round off back flip" is what Im thinking it is, then yeah, I am impressed with those. But I don't know alot about that stuff. Anyone who can do a simple back flip makes me envious. Maybe Joe lacked in the martial arts fighting department. Sure, he can flip, but they need martial artists with good timing and control.

@GregOBehave I've got some video of Joe in Germany doing Capoeira and some play fighting on the streets and looks awesome....he's got some Bruce Lee footwork. maybe i'll post it on youtube

@kevp951 dont think so lol :) joe was probably showing him some gesture concerning the flip he did.. I use some similiar gestures with my arms to show friends how they were positioned in the air and so on.. that was not a high five in my opinion :)

oh yeah, no disrespect to Jackie, but if he was not impressed with Joe's flipping then F Jackie... Joe needed to grow up like a little Bruce Lee, a pissed off little fireball, but instead Joe is mellow and very different. Seems kind of hard to figure Joe out personality-wise...I say Bruce was a fireball from his wifes book saying he got pissed off and put their bed thru the wall because he couldn't figure out how to put it together and snapped... LOL

even among other pros, Joe stands out as a notch above the rest..... I think he is probably the most under rated stunt performer EVERin terms of getting his big break for an action movie. Of course, If Joe manages to be able to still do it all when he gets older then he might make for a great tv series. Even Jackie himself needs help getting his aerial in his old age but he was once the master himself.

@kevp951 - From what I heard, Jackie wasn't that impressed with Joe's skills and didn't ask him back to work again. Also his attitude might have been wrong for their group. Many guys flip. Not just him. Regarding Jackie in his younger days. You never see Jackie doing many flips or somersaults. It was mainly Yuen Biao and Samm Hung. Jackie rarely did acrobatics. I wonder if he could actually flip as well as the others.

@GregOBehave glad you replied. My personal opinion is that Jackie thought Joe was too self centered .... I think Jackie looks for people that don't believe they're special even tho they are. I remember seeing JC doing nice back h springs so i'm sure he was an avid flipper, like most all Chinese youth back then. Many guys flip but not like Joe, he really needed help as far as bonding with the guys i think tho...

@GregOBehave I find it VERY hard to believe that he was dismissed for a lack of skill. I know nobody else whose technique is so refined and precise as Joe's. That's the thing that keeps me coming back for more, it's so fluid.

@slaQ83 - No, I think it was his personality or attitude. Or maybe he he wasn't good at other elements of the HK stuntman job description. Sure, he's good at flipping but maybe you need a little more than that to be in Jackie's team. Or maybe they just didn't need a new guy. I'm just random guessing.
