I was referring to other posts where people were comparing Santana to Hendrix to Van Halen to Stevie Ray Vaughan, etc....they are all great but each in their own style. this is truly the essential 'santana' ... the sound, the feeling, the memories sum up 35+ years of growing up with the music of this brilliant guitar player ... amazing how this was put together! it's a shame the sound quality is 'less than optimal' ... the feeling still remains super natural ...

Santana and Van Halen are both great guitar players. The difference is Santana is a great artist and Van Halen is a great noise maker.

Its funny I've been on quite a few guitarist page today and they are all very different people with different styles of playing. No matter who you think is best they don't play music to compete. Music is there to bring people together and to enjoy. I've been to pages of John Frusciante, Tom Morello, Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, and Slash today. To me they all rock in their own way. Comparing them like baseball trading cards is ridiculous just enjoy the music people.

The song is "Song Of The Wind" from Caravanserai but it's played slower so it's not obvious what song it is.But now it's evolved into anothe Santana song and Milton Nascimento tune "Ponta de Areia" plus oth Santana fragments.All in the same key!

My love for his music enabled me to do so in order to share it with all of you.
