@JabberCT Meat is delicious but eating it is an inefficient way of consuming energy, compared to eating vegetables. Going out and hunt for your meat is an even more inefficient way. And trophy hunting is the worst of all due to disturbing nature. Typically the meat is given to locals and the guides. Hunting generates a lot of revenue for the locals. Nothing goes to waste

May be start out explaining the cost of the average hunt per tourist, show the buff meat on a BBQ (though i think that meat is probably sold to lodges and hotels) and how the hunt sustains the economy and thus ensure the longevity of the animals.

And that "usless gloating" you speak of, is the second half of a hunt, a.k.a. the prize or trophy. Hunting is part sport for your information :) He has a right to show off his trophy.
