  • Oh, those Germans. A warrior race, they were.

  • such a sad and tragic waste of young life. I wasnt anywhere near being born during the first world war, (i refuse to call it the great war as there was nothing great about it except the courage of millions of young men) but the emotions films like this bring out in me are quite unreal. I wouldnt have the guts to do what these men did, and would most likely have been shot for cowardice. God rest every man who died at the hands of another.

  • WW1 was a waste and a pointless war. Many leaders have a lot to answer for. Millions of young boys died so what? Leaders could gain more land? Show off how powerful their militarized nations where? I for one wish the USA never got involved in WW1 but stayed out of it.

  • There is only 1 left, I believe she was a nurse. I don't know if that should qualify as a veteran.

  • all the people in the film was passed away, since 2005 no more solider of WWI attend any mermorial ceremony.

    all gone.

  • @wilson4870

actually there are still 3 living WW1 veterans, 1 American and 2 British. All of them are at least 110 though

  • @ffffman Fucking reatard, The last britisah veteran died in 2007, his name was harry patch

  • @ffffman Your comment is now false. They are all dead.

  • @ffffman Unfortunatly the last WW1 Canadian veteran died in 2008 or 2009

  • @Keon455 Harry patch was the last surviving WW1 veteran he was British he died in 25 July 2009

  • @Keon455 aged 111 years, 68 days old.

  • @wilson4870 i thought i saw a show about passchendaele, and there was an actual veteran in the show, i watched this show about a year ago.

  • @wilson4870 Partly true, there are 2 remaining but they never really fought in the war.

  • tha ones who start it. Never live it?

  • yiblon - thank you for your useful comments - I look forward to seeing your own creative work posted on Youtube in due course

  • Please end the use of this "hooked on grief" funereal dirge music that always accompanies WW1 footage.

And wobbly stills with posterisation and a trawl round the sound effects library simply don't add up to anything new.

  • nice "tommy" :)

  • great work lads great to us Birmingham Pals on youtube cheers Joseph Conlon
