David mopped the floor with Diana, even when they turned up the notes to make it harder for David to compete and steal her fire. Man it was great.

Just had to re-listen to a few Marvelettes songs as I had forgotten their sound. I have to disagree with you. The singer was very good, but her voice had a bouncier, lighter spirit that really can't compare, IMHO, to Diana Ross' voice, which TO ME seems a lot stronger. It's like trying to compare Linda Ronstadt, say, with Barbra Streisand, IMHO...get my drift? Both are good, but they have different styles.
Thanks, though, for the motivation to do research on these singers' voices.

I grew up with this music, ignoring the "English Invasion" (Beatles, etc.)
Maybe because Levi has passed, but I have a tear form when I hear him sing.
