Ba'al is one of the coolest(but smuggest =P) Goa'uld ever, I kind of like him and wouldn't really call him a bad guy, he's like the Albert Wesker(from Resident Evil) of the Stargate Universe.
Anubis though... just a stuck up dick head that's worse than all the other 'gods' put together =/
Wait..what? I thought Anubis was a partially-ascended, non-corporeal being kept in place by some kind of glittery face-shield? It's been awhile since I've seen an episode, how is this scabby fellow Anubis all of a sudden? Is this the same guy that got possessed by Anubis and sent himself to the ice planet?
@HaBooBo0 No, his sheer power destroys hosts, seemingly meaning he needs to, if only for his vanity, keep on moving. He's moved on since that first guy, but he still doesn't have a body with an energy shield to contain him.
@HaBooBo0 Anubis is a partially ascended being, and up til the end of season 7 (episode Lost City), he had an energy shield keeping his form intact. Since then he is able to possess humans for a time, like any Goa'uld. Something about his essence causes their body to rot and he has to move from host to host. Thats why he has the scabs on his face in this clip.
@Jurga23 Season 8, the episode is Threads. However this is only in the extended edition. The broadcast version often cuts this part (and several others from the episode).
lol Ba'al is not afraid of Anubis. He plays with Anubis, who has a inflated ego. It's probably a clone that will send information to the great God Baal.
@oliver2485 no i like aphophis he is awesome couse he is for the first: and god over the serpents, second: he had teal'c, third: i love the name and he tech
@oliver2485 Me, and many others. The people here doesn't see the superiority of Ba'al. Ba'al was waiting for a chance to destroy Anubis with the information he collected and technologies. Ba'al clones are not afraid of anyone.
@oliver2485 Ba'al was like, the ultimate Go'ald. Even after the go'ald were defeated, it took until Continuum which was AFTER the series to finally get rid of him.
@henkman00 True. Ba'al was awesome. They should have had him make an appearance in Stargate Atlantis. I want to see space battle of Goa'uld vs Wraith.
If the Replicators had seized the weapon, it would not have done Anubis any good. He couldn't exactly have taken it back in his incorporeal form and it is not stated that he had some means to fight them.
This dialogue is puzzling in so many ways. If Anubis had wanted to destroy life in the galaxy, then why go to the trouble of plotting to let the jaffa rebels take Dakara in order to crush them (having the fleet disengage with the Replicators and attack the rebels). He could have activated the weapon when he first possessed Dakara!
Also, what exactly is Baal's betrayal here? At having been slow to take Dakara and having helped destroy the Replicators?
@ToonLinksDair Anubis couldn't act too fast. If he used what he learned by his ascension then the ancients would have stopped him. Him had to act carefully and only use what means he could have used back when he was a normal goa'uld. That's why he uses minions to do most of his work and why he can't just wipe everything out in an instant like that. The ancients would have stopped him.
In this show all the gods from ancient mythologies, including Ra, Amaterasu, and many others, are evil parasites posing as gods. There isn't anything against Anubis in particular.
@SpilledCoffeeStudios I just mean that all the goauld have taken identity of an egyptian god (or vice versa) and that all goulds are evil, therefore it sounds very strange that you would point out that they got it wrong with anubis. because all the egyptian gods are goulds and they are all evil in the show so that was just my point...

In other words , The Goa`uld Anubis is not like The Egyptian Death god , Anubis , because The Egyptian , Babylonian , Sumerian & Assyrian gods were inspired by The Goa`uld but The Goa`uld are a hell of a lot meaner .
@1993MovieMan it's a show made by people who hate the goa'ld so of course they're all massively one-sided and no one took the time to even bother with portraying them accurately
@1993MovieMan I always thougth the Goa'uld where those Pantheons. Still the gate was buried after the defeat of Ra and they still had their gods. Only Setesh kept on earth.

f*** all theses little system lords - APOPHIS and RA RULE!!! - (ruled rather seeing as though they are both dead). Anubis and baal are faggots.Stupid bastards. f*** them!!!
After 8 years of war with the Goa'uld, the Jaffa are finally about to be free, the Tok'ra no longer needing to be in hiding in underground tunnels and the Tauri (Humans of Earth)no longer needing to fear being wiped out. Now all of that is within their grasp. Anubis is about to ruin 8 years of hard work in a few days with the oush of a button.
it would've been cool to have Sokar around so he would go against Anubis. That would've been an interesting storyline...both evil geniuses and ruthless.
I thought that Anubis and Sokar were played by the same person. And that Lucian alliance guy with the tentacles and the prior with one eye are both played by one person, too. Pete is the... producer, i believe... and Siler was some sort of stunt-coordinator. Work on Stargate, appear on Stargate, that's their motto!
Man, talk about power. Just hearing Anubis speak is frightening. The only other evil voice I know of that comes close to his is Sovereign the reaper from Mass Effect.
Ra' and Apophis were the best

I think Baal and Anubis are the coolest sytemlords but Anubis is way more powerful the Baal since he´s halfassended and created the Kullwarriors

That would've been an interesting storyline...both evil geniuses and ruthless.

or Anubis vs. Adria?
wolfarkas 3 years ago 2
That would have been rather interesting. Or Replicators vs. Ori( Ark of Truth reference).
StarLink101 3 years ago
This would be difficult, because David Palffy
is the actor who plays Anubis AND Sokar, believe it or not.
XenousPrime 3 years ago
But I must admit, this is not David Palffy, he is the actor of the half ascended Anubis.

Sokar is creepy.... he kind of looks like a Prior of the Ori, don't you think?

Man, talk about power. Just hearing Anubis speak is frightening. The only other evil voice I know of that comes close to his is Sovereign the reaper from Mass Effect.

I think the best enemies in the Stargate are:
Anubis, Baal, Sokar and Fifht. I think that Fifth would have more possibilities if they had wanted, he hate a lot SG-1, more than any Goaul'd.

THAT. IS. WHAT. YOU. CALL. AURA!!! Anubis is FULL of aura! Come on, just talking makes him more evil than any crappy character there is.
