People thousands of years ago didn't know (had no way of knowing) so what did they do, they got scared and said "Oh, that's God showing his anger, we must stop our sinning". Bono is very judgmental about the church and their lack of service/compassion to the poor and needy. This may take a few weeks and a person cannot have any fleshly desires that are being filled (Ex: smoking, drinking, premarital sex, gluttony, etc. once we have emptied ourselves of these things and ask the Father for the gift of the Holy Spirit, HE sends it in to us connecting us with GOD Himself. Ofcourse the writers had to say jesus was god because clearly an all powerful being couldn't be killed and sense he was, it's technically ONLY God and the holy spirit because jesus is dead. Jesus did ask god (unless he was asking himself which would be stupid) why he has been forsaken while nailed to the cross. I have looked it up and if he was a mass of light, why would he need to say "let there be light"?

People thousands of years ago didn't know (had no way of knowing) so what did they do, they got scared and said "Oh, that's God showing his anger, we must stop our sinning". That's why science and the bible do not mix.

He has no idea that if these things didn't happen he might die. so who knows better the baby who would rather not be hit and shot, or the doctor who knows that with out the shots and expansion of the lungs the baby would most probably die?

I truly believe most people think God is supposed to handle all our problems... and when he doesnt, doubt creeps in. In my heart, I believe the whole point is education. Christ came to teach us. We should be helping one another. If God did everything for us... we probably wouldnt grow spiritually as existive beings. God gave us free will. Because just as any of you... if you had to make and force someone to love you... then is that really love? It's hard to find good teachers of the word.

here's a funny story... i met a really cool guy once, and when he told me he was a christian i was surprised that he was so nice and yet a christian... because most christian that i met (almost all) are complete assholes who would give their lives for christ but not dare sacrifice their credit for their son or daughter.

that is unfortunate... don't buy into what a couple of bad experinces have told you though. Those were christans who wern't doing what christ told them to do. Look in a bible for what a christian is and what they should do and see that flawed humans have trouble living up to Jesus' name. Don't hold it against all when 1 fails, and remend him of his or her duty as a christian and see if they change their attitudes. Good luck.

I would describe myself as a fundamental Christian, that is believing in the fundamentals of the faith. Until i was 22 I only had a head knowledge of Jesus Christ until a friend shared with me the Gospel and i trusted Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of my sins.
