  • My RC model is greater!

  • Its better to have one and not need it...than to need one and not have it.

  • 15 people preferred the ac 130

  • a weapon of cowardice

  • @LimpLoser so's a gun, but you dont see anyone complaining about that.

  • Spoko kurwa tylko czemu po waszemu

  • @megatron2336

się ucz... to będziesz kumał ;P

  • @GrimLockUK the helicopter is mcdonnell douglas not mcdonald dougas

  • they can be very proud they made a great KILLING MACHINE ! well dome mc doug!

  • @MrLovefile actually they make a great SAVING LIFES MACHINE .

  • ahhhh the 1980s

  • i love the 1st attack helicopter in the world.

AH-1 Cobra. The Super Cobra is good too

  • lol i love all these russian trolls... they are the same fools that want the same reaction out of you all.. dont feed the trolls :P. i thought first hmmm comparing a Havoc to a Apache would be something but a HIND?!. the Hind is a flying piece of junk... it was developed when the russians were commies and cleaned out their tech.. to begin with mostly the Hind uses analog equipment if your comparing the time of tech to this :P. its nothing to speak of even. the apache is superior.

  • the apache is used for close air support e.g if the army need support the apache will be called. The apache can carry up to 70 ALL SO missiles in each turret. And the pilot has a sensored helmet on which if he or her turns heads left or right so will the spot cam. The apcheis also 1 of the slowest helicopters out there but its a nasty peice of kit so any taliban gets in its way there pretty much dead lolz.

  • and what do u know about the apche because u probably dont have a clue m8

  • That goes to the broadcaster of the video: The AH-64A did not carry fire-and-forget Hellfire missiles...That capability has been added later with the introduction of the Apache's latest variant, the AH-64D Longbow...Due to the use of a new radar, the Apache then was capable of firing those missiles...Nice brief documentary, anyway, thanks for posting, mate.

  • Look before technical characteristics Ka-52 and Mi-28. Ok? In general, Mi-28 and Apache it is senseless to compare. Mi-28 has more powerful arms, more perfect precisely-navigating system, more maneuverable and has the best armour. Mi-28 higher class, than Apache. Ka-52 it was planned to use as the command helicopter for management of groups Ka-50. It also more modern heli.

  • Name to me war where helicopters of the identical version of updating resisted to one another? Where? And it is possible to speak about what fighting application? In Iraq where Saddam used out-of-date arms? It is better to make use of experience of the Chechen Republic where terrorists had those Russian arms which was and at the Russian army. Terrorists had tanks, armoured troop-carriers, portable anti-aircraft missiles the Strela(SA-13 Gopher), the Igla(SA-18 Grouse) etc.

  • why isnt there any heavy metal as the background music... instead of that granny shit. ???

  • Dude! You, like so rock!

    *rolls eyes*

  • It's a government orientation film - boring and dry.

  • lol like the music

  • interesting stuff, its certainly come a long way since this info clip.

    Cheers for posting.

  • wow! where are the "ka-52 is the best, ka-52 is the best!"

bullshit comments from the Russians that usually grace the comments sections of videos like this?

  • ka-52 is the best, ka-52 is the best!"

    :P

  • cra83,

Good question, they're in Georgia picking up pieces of what WAS a bunch of ka-52s.

  • Really? i didnt know they were used. Not that i checked extensively.....

  • Now they know how the yanks feel picking up pieces of what WAS a bunch of apaches in Iraq... Or at least they would if a KA52 had ever been shot down... which it hasn't.

    Get it right.

  • It didn't need to be shot down to crash. KA 52 crashes well enough on its own. Heavier, slower, less armed, less range, lower ceiling than Apache, BTW in service 12 years earlier than KA 52. KA 52 = fewer than 15 fly today. AH 64 = almost 1800 flying in 13 nations, and growing.

    Learn some facts

  • All prototypes have a high crash risk... but I've never heard of a KA52 crashing - so send me a link or I'll disbelieve you.

By the way, the Apaches in foreign service are shit - to pick one example, the british ones damage their own tail rotors every time they fire a hellfire - necessitating a trip to the us 4 repairs. Hardly the mark of a great chopper.

BTW KA52 has higher speed, cieling is irelevant, heavier 'cos of decent armour & will hover longer over a target for CAS.

    Hinds better tho.

  • Please, some links to the british Apache crashes..... I didn' t find any. Plus British ones are made in UK so they' re not shiped back to US for repairs.

Also if KA52 was not in Georgia how can you say it's better? Until it's proven worthy in combat (like apache did many times) we can not tell. Plus Apache's main advantage is it's sensors (longbow) and hellfire missile, not speed and armour, and russians do not have anything as effective as that yet.if they do please links

  • I read it in the Guardian newspaper - so look on the Guardian's (A UK newspaper) website.

I don't think KA52 was better, I think Hinds better, sorry if I didn't make myself clear :-)

I think the Hinds ability to escort itself & carry troops would make it perfect for medevac duties in Afghanistan/Iraq - an Apache escorted Chinook can't do it's full speed without losing it's escort - that's bad news for the solider & that's why I prefer Hind. Little bird would be an acceptable alternative tho.

  • Read Jane's Defense Weekly and stop making things up.

  • Go to wikipedia and compare the two.

You'll see I'm not making anything up.

If I was I'd claim the KA52 was cheaper, faster, better armed and armoured & capable of downing the entire apache fleet of the us in a minute.

Instead - I post the truth. Just 'cos you don't like it - doesn't mean it's not true.

  • Son, wikipedia is posted by anyone who wants to post - NO FACT CHECKING, OPEN FORUM. AH 64 carries almost double the fire power and more than double the weapon range of the KA 52. Also double the horsepower.

Wikipedia also lists the lunar landing as fake.

BUT, since you read the Guardian, read about the two that crashed in GA.

  • Yeah I know it's an open forum & am WELL aware of the dangers associated with that.

Which source would you prefer I use? Should I listen to a Hughes helicopters sales rep for his completely unbiassed view?

I don't see the advantage of double the horsepower - with those contra-rotational rotors that advantage seems mostly cancelled out

I never disputed your claim that Apache carries double the firepower (nor did I claim KA52 was better), no need to repeat it.

  • Chinook is used for cargo, the Blackhawk and versions of it are used for medevac.

  • Chinook is occasionally used for medivac, I saw a program where the Brits medivacced a guy in one.

Hinds faster than Blackhawk though - I reckon It'd do a better job. Little bird would probably be best of all.

  • Bro the British Apaches are owned and made by the British, Only the body is similar. Hell the rotors fold so it can be made shipborne, the KA-52 is good too, but learn our resources before you spit bullshit, also they have no problems with their hell fires.

  • Why would they have changed the design so theres a defect there? If it aint broke, don't try to change it.

And why does everyone bring up KA52? It's Hind I keep saying beats apache - AND KA52.

  • this video looks like it was made in the mid 1990s. imagine what these choppers are like now...

  • the new version the longbow is so fucking amazeing

  • the 1 that jus came out even better lol

  • Holy Shit. That is fucking amazing. I wanna pilot that!

  • hahaha, McDonnell, McDonald's?

    McDonald's apache!

  • Oh, shit, what is this?

    Flying Trucks?

  • McDonnel Douglas huh? Hmmm, maybe you should do some research. The Apache is a Boeing product.

  • Just an old movie. McDonnell bought Douglas, becoming McDonnell Douglas. MD then bought Hughes, so the Hughes AH64 Apache became the McDonell Douglas AH64 Apache. Then this film was made. Boeing then bought McDonnell Douglas and the Apache became the Boeing A64 Apache. Simple as that.

  • Boeing "bought" McDonnell Douglas the same way Lockheed "bought" Martin Marietta. That is, they merged.

  • boeing now owns MCD Douglas

  • it was made by both companies

  • I heard Mcdonnel but w/e dork. Hellfires own.

  • hunter of tank

  • what the hellare you talking about?

  • lol

  • It's called the "McDonnell" Douglas AH-64 Apache, not "McDonald" Douglas Apache AH-64. I don't think they come in Happy Meals

  • indeed, hahahah laughing my ass off !! Yes I would like an Apache AH-64 with my Happy Meal please, and a extra hamburger

  • yeah right, you expect people to believe that?

  • You're more batshit insane than those 2.5 inch area attack rockets at 2:06.

  • If u read the start u would see it says "McDonnell" and if u actually listen properly you will hear him say "McDonnell" aswell.

  • I meant in GrimlockUK's video comment section

  • russian Ka-50 is better

  • biased much?

  • LOS PIZDES I PROVOKACIJA!!!

  • beauty machine

  • 'cock'pit!

  • Throw a six foot logging chain into its rotars and see how invulnerable it is!

  • How many guys go in there?

  • could be nice in Vietnam

  • Several of these brought down by IEA in Iraq with not very specializzed weapon

    Helicopter is helicopter

  • 30 million dollars I would imagine?

  • The baddest of the bad!!!!

  • Yes toogij, The Apache can do "a looping" but it wasnt meant for that so it can be really hard on the rotor system, especially if not performed correctly. They can also do a roll. Rolls if performed correctly are done at 1g the whole way around.....The US Army trains Egyptian to fly their aircraft. So the argument earlier makes no sense.

  • In theory all helicopters can it all depends on the pilot...but who cares. That isn't what they are for.

  • can it perform a looping?

  • yes

  • That is some powerful weapon man. Must be like riding a damn Dragon. It's amazing how powerful machines men can build.

  • Imagine what we could do if we paid that kind of attention to detail to ourselves, our societies and peace. I hope I'm not the only person who is alarmed by this piece of shit video. The calmness and salesman like demeanor of the narrator is particularly disturbing. I'm sure he would also achieve excellent sales figures in marketing for landmines and childrens handcuffs.

I hope it gets better than this.

  • What's wrong with landmines?

The problems were never the weapons, but the people who had them.

  • Right. It's all the bad guy's fault. Nothing to do with us at all.

What was I thinking. Enough of that, time to go watch CNN.

Does anybody know any good landmine company stocks?

  • Seriously there isn't. They are very good and cost effective area denial weapons, which will force the enemy to either spend large amount of resources to get through or to get forced into an alternate approach.

There's a fucking huge difference between the massive minefield at the Finnish-Russian borders and in the playground in Bosnia-Hercegovina, and you know it.

  • That means both of these things are INDIVIDUALISTIC and cannot be compared with others who have had different upbringings. Therefore, before you go running your mouth off about things you have hardly considered, take a few seconds, and THINK...unlike your country which tends to ACT before THINKING. It might get you somewhere.

p.s. you are technically right about US work ethics..I mean you are the most overworked and underpaid First World Nations on the planet. Kudos!

  • hey moonfire i couldnt help but notice your post wow all that education, politics, cultural anthropology, global econmics,u really no how to put people in their place,so why you got all those videos on your profile of people and KIDS in diapers? do you have a diaper fetish or what?

  • moonfire im one of those overworked americans youre putting down,i dont have a lot of education and have been called a banjo playin inbred mongoloid but my american ass can shoo 1/2" groups at 200 yards.and i jus fukin luv foreigners that put my country down

  • and my idividualistic bullet cost is less than 20 cents per round so pull out your slide rule and tell me how much money does it take to turn a motherfuckers LIGHTS OUT? (regardless of individualistic nationality)

  • moonboy you really should be nicer to people man bragging about all that education, puttin us down, using them BIG wordsbut above all else PLEASE get help for that diaper fetish man its one thing to be alittle kinky but watching people pee in diapers is just SICK

  • collardgreeneatinsob, is that Egyptian sweating you? Forget about it, the U.K.'s got your back. See response to him down the page. He isn't as smart as he thinks. He also failed to mention how HIS government readily accepts terrorist suspects from the USA and EU and tortures them for us, because our society objects to torture, but his think it is perfectly okay. As long as the CIA pays them...

  • It shows exactly where your government has its priorities and it certainly isn't on its own people. By the way, I have taken several years of Cultural Anthropology at the University level and I know global economy and politics like the back of my hand. Intelligence in war...I call it machismo. Who's got the biggest and best machine!?! By the way, intelligence and work ethic are LEARNED...they are not natural..you are NEVER born with them.

  • When your military budget is 132.8 Billion dollars US (2007), you can afford to make ridiculous machines of war. KlubMarcus, it is hilarious that you mention that the people of the US are more hardworking and smarter than the "muslim terrorists" when you consider that the US government spends a mere 67.2 billion dollars educating its own people. Compare that to Israel, whose budget has practically equivalent figures for both defense and education. Isn't that impressive?

  • Moonfire, what your little essay failed to say though is that EGYPT (your country) spends 3.4% of its GDP on defence, while America spends 4.06%. Sounds like both governments put similar importance on defence spending to me. What about education? Egypt has a literacy rate of 71.4% while the USA has 99%. Who's the asshole? Oh yeah, that would be YOU.

  • Background music reminds me of Airwolf

  • I guess that muslim terrorists are just jealous that they aren't smart enough or hard-working enough to actual design, build, and deploy an Apache. Allied Arab militaries have to buy the Apache from America.

  • Check out "The AH-64 at work"

  • my mom chokes on small bones

  • oh really..... what do you think it was designed to do ? :S

  • When you see this thing coming other than in the United States, you better start running before it finds you.

  • What a great machine. You can kill everything faster than before! Just what we needed!

  • Killing murderous thugs like Nazis, communist aggressors, and terrorists is a good thing.

  • LOL commie nazi aggressors put down the crack pipe

  • hi on the bit about the chain gun isnt the rpm 4200 isnt it not 600????? as it says in here 1200 for 2 minutes sustained fire?

  • The chain gun doesn't rotate. Single barrel. Yup, 625 + or - 25 rounds a minute.

  • doesnt it i thought it did? or is it only the rotary canon that does?

  • Nope. The multi-barreled ones rotate.

  • oooh ok

  • Ehrm..Mcdonald douglas?....

  • Yea, originally built by Hughes, bought out by McDonnell Douglas, bought out by Boeing. The anti torgue pedals had the Hughes logo molded into them, I wonder if the "D" models today still do today?

  • yeah,i know that but "McDonald" Douglas?hehehe...look at the description...lil bit of typpo...

  • Ah, I see it there.

  • no prob, and tnx for the info though...

  • plus one

  • wat are those two things near the top? they look like guns..are they?

  • You're probably looking at the engine's nose gear boxes mounted in front of the engines. The hole in the front is to allow airflow in and around the gear box to aid cooling.

  • ooh ok now i see thnx

  • those are the jet intakes.

  • So glad i'm out of all that and just design T-shirts now.Apache's awesome but the A-10's the one i fear.Want awesome military t's,Apache helicopter T-shirts? You do then vsit Bignumptees Military Madhouse and take a butchers at the cool designs

  • awesome helicopter, the best there is.

  • In the world of militant Islam, the Apache has been referred to numerous times as the "Angel of Death." Now, an arms dealer knows he's done his job when a weapon he made gets a nickname like that.

  • we (the brits) army air corps with AH64 (D) longbow call it "flying in the weeds"

  • Apache .. shit ??? lol | It´s awsome .. Ka-52 is much more worser

  • Apache apache apache what a shit why american didn`t have a russian helicopter like Ka-52 ....

because the american ar so stupid to see this

  • The KA-52 doesn't even have a turreted cannon. It's also a disaster in foreign military sales. So obviously, when it's time to decide wether or not to buy Russian junk or American firepower, they buy American.

  • Well they could, and did, easily fix the turreted cannon problem. I think the Ka would be good in certain situations, such as situations where there might be more air resistence. Maybe the US shoudl buy a few for situations liek that. But mostly i tihnk the US relies on its air force to handle things like that.

  • Still an incredible machine after all these years! My fav after the KA-50.

  • Interesting :)

  • "Map of the earth flight profile" old attempt to highlight GPS capabilities w/o giving anything away? Sounds that way.

  • "Nap of the earth", meaning ground-hugging low altitude flight, Not "Map of the earth" :P

  • It is "nape"

  • We in the U.S. Army call this type of flying NOE or Nap of the Earth. I also call it "Wow, I get paid for this?!!!!"

  • And logging "Z" time. Zookin!

  • ahahaha no... silly boy.. hes saying "nap of the earth profile". By this he means that the Apaches frame is suited to flying at low altitudes while sticking to geographical land forms and trees for cover so that it can lauch surprise attack on tanks and avoid radar contact...

    like Hairysteed said.
