The Mazda Savanna RX3 battled with Nissan's Skyline on the Japanese Grand Prix in 1972, winning the touring car category there and preventing the GT-R from winning 50 consecutive races. The cars continued to be competitive, claiming over 100 victories in 1976, and continue in club racing today.
If you guys do not know, the RX3 is the car that defeated the Skyline in Japan. That is a fact. I understand some guys do not know the facts. Let me know if you do guys do not know about it, I can find out the race and all the information. The Mazda "Savanna" RX3 as it is known in Japan is famous , amongst other things, for having defeated a Skyline with only 1300 ccs.

懐かしい対決ですね。しかしGT-Rは72年の50勝仕様(この後のレースドニッポンではオーバーフェンダーが大型化しています)のようですが、
バンナ3は無敵の片山仕様のようです。この仕様はGT-Rと全く年代が違い、バンパー取り外し不可、ヘッドライト取り外し不可、ペリフェラルポート変更可、ピロポールサスに変更、エンジンマウント位置下げ等の改造をしていますので市販車とは全く違いサーキット専用マシンです。ワークスGT-Rの引退後73年に18RGのセリカ2000が現れましたがバンナ3のライバルに成るには力不足で、GTの260Zと戦わせました。何故そんなに細かいって、私は当時サーキットで全部観ていたからです。オートスポーツ、オートテクニック、洒落てホリデーオート等の専門誌は発売されると本屋に飛んでいきました。
当時実際に箱スカもバンナ3も購入して乗っていました。
もちろんどちらもノーマルのままではありません。昔の事ですみません。
