Actually "stonewalldregg", If you go to an old edition of the "orginized" book, where the baptismal vows and questions are spelled out, you will see that within the very baptismal vows it clearly states "the spirit guided organization.." Regardless of what the man baptizing you says at the moment of inmersion, you ALREADY went through the questioning process and accepted EVERYTHING in that book. the watchtower followers don't even do a certain thing, one of the most important teachings of jesus, and they are too scared to, because an exclusive branding registered trademark (for the spiritual presence of being close to god) would be weakened by doing so. I have one question, if you are a FORMER JW, why do you keep calling God "Jehovah" when that name is an erroneous translation?
Mat 28:19 says we have to be baptized in the NAME (singular) of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit (3 persons, 1 God) Trinity!! :D

i have a catholic bible, and the catholic bible says the name jehovah in it at least 10 times, whereas the Jehovahs witness bible uses it about 7,000 times, dont mistaken me, I'm not a jehovahs witness in any way, shape, or form.

sparkydog, the bible you have is not Catholic. Which version is it. Is it the King James 1611 version? The same man who interpreted the KJV is the same one who did NWT. The KJV 1611 version is NOT Catholic and just because it includes the 7 Deuterocanonical books does not make it Catholic.
I have the Jerusalem bible which is Catholic and it uses "Yahweh."

Another misleading anti jw video. In no way does the organization place themselves above God or Jesus or heaven or anything. Jws are baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the holy spirit......in association with the organization. isnt it true that someone baptized as any religion is in association with that organization? how about all the religions that baptize children or dont even dunk the members? who is the man of lawlessness in this respect?

There is no mention of the Holy Spirit in the Jehovah's Witness Baptismal vows. The Holy spirit has been exclueded and replaced by "God's Spirit Directed Organization". This must really grieve the Holy Spirit!... The only unforgivable sin.

Actually "stonewalldregg", If you go to an old edition of the "orginized" book, where the baptismal vows and questions are spelled out, you will see that within the very baptismal vows it clearly states "the spirit guided organization.." Regardless of what the man baptizing you says at the moment of inmersion, you ALREADY went through the questioning process and accepted EVERYTHING in that book. I believe in december last year, they re-edited this book AGAIN,so i don't know what they Changed now

The Jehovah's Witnesses are no more screwed up than any other Christian. It's all the same when you intelligently and scientifically tear the bible to shreds. In the JW's favor, they live better lives than any other Christian group I've ever seen or met. Leave them alone. Find something to do that actually accomplishes something.

True science agrees with the Bible the only sciences that don't are sudosciences, sciences that don't hold up to scientific method, name a science and see if it is fact or requires more faith than the Bible does. Evolution requires tons of faith, the fossil record is opposite of what Darwin predicted it would be, evolution has never been observed and where are the things in transition. Theology and true unbias science are perfectly married they each compliment the other.

Sorry, I didn't mean to argue (I saw a video rebuking those who constantly argue with other Christians), but I often deal with JWs and they say that the Holy Spirit is a thing (it), so when I heard you saying "...with Holy Spirit" I thought you were calling the H-Spirit an "it".

The first baptismal question asks the candidate if he has REPENTED of his former life course and DEDICATED his life to Jehovah to do his will. (Where does it say here that we are dedicating our life to an organization)?

The second question asks the candidate, first of all, if he understands that his baptism serves to identify him as one of Jehovah's Witnesses(becomes a Christian). After undergoing immersion, he becomes an ordained minister who bears Jehovah's name. The second question also reminds the candidate of his (biblical)RESPONSIBILITY (not a vow to a name) to work with Jehovah's spirit-directed organization (The body of Christ).
