  • so good.

  • I believe the next weapon that would've been talked about is the flying guillotine

  • Scorpion from Mortal Combat ._.

  • doesnt look like it could penetrate much

  • Gogo Yubari, the disturbed sadist schoolgirl, used a meteor hammer in the first Kill Bill. I enjoyed that fight.

  • Men who don't have enough penis girth could use that dart to please their woman.

  • KILL BILL!

  • I prefer a 9mm myself!!

  • @Gman6755 and what happens when you run out of bullets?

  • @AngusTheWolf I reload!

  • The simple sling might also be a great weapon to incorperate into the kung fu arsenal as it is super powerful for its size and is a great challenge to shoot well. check out the youtube film "Ancient Sling Weapon".

  • Those weapons are really cool

  • Why not have the rope dart on one end and the meteor hammer on the other?

  • @DuncansMothersFriend And Rambo could kill all three.

  • this shit is intense...

  • @DuncansMothersFriend hahaha agreed

  • hit once and it loses all momentum unless it hits stretched out, as you're jsut gonna pull it back anyway.

  • I love this!!!!!!!!

  • I just bought a meteor hammer yesterday, but the weight seems to be a bit smaller than the one shown here. Still, can't wait until I finally give it a whirl! :D

  • Imagione hitting yourself in the balls with that

  • @LtKeller11250 I hate hitting myself in the balls with my poi much less a rope dart. lol

  • Damn this is so hot!

  • The meteor hammer from kill bill was frightning x__X

  • I call BS on the effectiveness of these weapons.

  • @KikiDaiso

i call BS to the person who's never used one before!

  • I think you can do damage with any weapon. The rope dart and meteor you guys are arguing a out can be explained simply...like a penis, size does not matter, it's how u use it. ;p some yoda knowledge for ur asses lol

  • I can't wait till my fire dart gets here!!! Wooot

  • Fucking Ninjas...

  • WHERE CAN I BUY A METEOR HAMMER?!?

  • "Get over here!" lol... Mortal Kombat reference...

  • You don't block with a chain weapon; you redirect it or you dodge.

    Plain and simple.

Also, what this guy does is really amazing ' cause chain weapons have a high hit rate. E.g. it will hit you just as much as it hits your opponent. The hard part is getting it to hit you softly and hitting your opponent not so softly.

  • The rope dart just seems like a crappy weapon. To do any serious damage with it, you would have to hit with the point. I don't think you can actually put enough force into it to do the kind of damage.

  • @RaidenTheAlmighty if that little dart smacks you in the head at full force ur knocked the fuck out or hurt BAD, point or no point....

  • Look at how it is propelled though. You can't build up any real force with it.

  • @RaidenTheAlmighty Yeah i see whatcha mean, probably be more useful if the dart was sharpened

  • Possibly.

  • You can see at about :22 how little force there actually is behind the attack, when you attempt to throw it point first. Unless you hit somebody in the eye with it, you wouldn't be able to do any serious damage using the weapon that way.

  • @RaidenTheAlmighty Yes, okay, Dr. Martial Arts of Rope Dart

  • More like "Dr. Look at how slowly the rope dart moves when he throws it point first."

  • @RaidenTheAlmighty cunt I do meteor and it fucken hurts when it hits you

  • I said the meteor hammer would be better than the rope dart you idiot.

  • @RaidenTheAlmighty

Get a friend to take an eight ounce bean bag and throw it into you at full force. It won't hurt you, but you'll notice.

Now imagine that bean bag is a piece of metal, pointed to direct its entire energy into a space roughly an eight of an inch, and moving faster than your friend threw the bean bag.

You are now slightly closer to envisioning what it's like to be hit with a rope dart- if it hits bone, it breaks it. It's not really a piercing weapon.

  • The rope dart might break a hand(if it was a very lucky hit) or a nose, but it's not doing any serious bone breaking. The problem is that in comparison to the meteor hammer, (or even a similarly size but rounded object) the rope dart spreads the force of impact out much more the a rounded object, which would concentrate it.

  • @abattoirflux

    Agreed.

More of a pain inflicting weapon?

  • @abattoirflux I will side with the meteor hammer. The rope dart isn't as heavy as the hammer, and I imagine flinging it straight forward won't make much of an impact. Swinging it is also out of the question, as the dart doesn't have much mass and can't do blunt damage.

The hammer, however, is pretty much a rock on a chain. Having a rock thrown at you isn't fun. You can also swing it like a flail, and slam it from above, like a "'meteor", which will easily do some serious damage.

  • @YellowJacketNinja375 And if you're good enough you can also disarm a person or tie up a limb and do a take down. Definitely would take a meteor hammer over a rope dart.

  • the camera man must have pissed himself at 1:51

  • @Alesandros356 I don't know man camera men are pretty fearless. lol

  • @Scream7277 i suppose this dud is since he didn't scream and run away :P

  • @Alesandros356 Agreed. I woulda probably died via heart attack XD!

  • its meteor hammer time *cant touch this ensues*

  • ....GET OVER HERE!!!

  • @xTheDeathSaintx LOL im surprised that many people got it

  • note to self... no more indoors practice with a home made rope dart -_-

  • @Mephistolomaniac i totally agrees.....

  • @Mephistolomaniac Yes! i agree my freind was so excited to show me how awesome his rope dart is he kindof put a huge freaking hole in his door in his basement!!!!!!!! lol

  • @Mephistolomaniac I took out 2 light bulbs in my room, and 1 in the basement. lol

  • to me it seems like it is a lot easier to do a demo for these instead of a training fight

    looks hard to block with

  • @homemadePAUL I imagine the idea is rather than block to use the unpredictability of the rope dart's attacks to keep the opponent off balance or confused, or simply keeping a distance. Hard to close the gap with face full of rope dart. Barring that, tripping would work.

  • SO PRO! =)

  • It removed heads...I got to learn this

  • ...GET OVER HERE!!!

  • i honestly believe this should have been on number 1 seriously

  • @yinyangcircle123 i tryed to vote your comment up but i missed and voted it down :(

  • 相当な熟練者じゃないと扱うのは難しそうだなあ。かっこいい

  • What happens if the enemy catches it?

  • @satrsmndri good luck. lol. its one thing watching it like that, but when its coming at you, the last thing you should be thinking about is catching it. i would be thinking get the hell out of the way.

  • @satrsmndri if you can catch the wires from a taser gun before the rods pierce and deliver the electricity, then you can catch the dart, but if they can't, oh well.

  • @satrsmndri Good luck trying, that thing flies fast. And the dart on the end is pretty hard if you know what i mean.

  • Does anyone know which show this is from and what season and episode? Thanks in advance.

  • @LivingForMusicOnly Lol. If you looked closer you would see the video is watermarked with not only the network, but the show's title as well! National Geographic - Fight Night

  • CLIFFHANGER!!!!!

  • I cant wait to get started I've ordered the things i need to teach myself how to do kung fu except a couple but i have enough

  • I want this as a main weapon in a video game, NOW.

  • Heck, this weapon and Redwall even got ME inspired!

(look up Darien the Dart on my deviantART gallery) o_~

  • @#

alaricofarabia i know its long itme ago, olmost a year you have responded, but how did you lear nthe basics? by yourself trying or did you went to a kung fu master to teach you? cause i would like to know some basics to :)

  • @oelewapperable Watch what YouTube videos there are, watch poi videos for basics of the theory, then play with it, experiment, see what works and what smashes you in the face/groin! I've got some saved rope dart videos on my profile. drop me a message for info on making a good practice dart.

  • Wow this looks great!

  • i'll stick with my 3-section staff, that looks way to hard... looks awesome though... i'll definitely try.

  • More importantly, it's easy to hide a rope dart, chain whip or meteor hammer under your clothes, in a bag, or pocket and they make effective weapons, even against armored opponents.

Not to mention, you could attack from 20 feet away if you wanted to.

  • I wonder how one would defend against this kind of weapon.

  • @Tareltonlives Scissors ;P

  • @Tareltonlives fucking light armor and a shield

  • The meteor hammer should have morning-star-like spikes. That would be awesome.

  • @Evi1M4chine It wouldnt be very useful because you often have to grab the ball or prod it with your foot.

  • @Evi1M4chine No reason to! Spikes like that would just be for show, would make it to easy to catch on the ground or anything else near by. These are devastating weapons as they are.

  • just looking at these people work their skills and weapons makes me so jealous...aggghh...why didn't i take kung fu?!

  • what doccmentary is this from?

  • kind of surprised how small the ball is compare to GoGO's hammer in Kill Bill.

Very complex weapon weapon yet so simple in design.

  • Gogo the teenage assassin/bodyguard in Kill Bill and Jackie Chan in Shanghai Noon just to name a few places i have seen it done. it would be insanely difficult to beat someone capable of using this weapon.

  • They had this in Ninja assassin.

  • that's pretty cool

  • Get Over Here!

  • hit-girl anyone?

  • Comment removed

  • I want to learn how to use that weapon, it's amazing!

  • I can sorta do this, woo hoo! But this skill level, Im gonna have to study this vid closely for a long time to get 33% of this degree of badassness +fav. Thanx 4 Posting!

  • HAHAHA i know the next weapon if anyone is curious, (flying guillotine)

  • @xacezkillzx Nah, Flying Daggers, if you get the innuendo.

  • so awesome!

  • @HereIsJesus I'll take your word for it...

  • @HereIsJesus A practice dart seems vital....

  • @HereIsJesus You fought someone......with a rope dart?

  • one of my fav weapons!

  • The rope dart doesn't look that sharp. Is it actually? Or is it supposed to be a little dull?

  • @Compooky121 surprisingly, even tho it looks dull, itll break skin and bone with absolute ease. just one of these strikes could severely hurt or even kill u

  • same devastation when i used a baseball bat

  • whats the name of the documentary

  • were these darts ever sharpened? or did they keep them blunt on purpose?

  • I think the real questions are, who makes these pots? ,and, Why must they be smashed? Why not sold for money to buy more weapons?

  • many times they also had spikes or sharp tips, if this went the face it was nailed literally

  • IIIIIIIIII LOOOOOOVE KUNG FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

    this video is great

  • And while the guy is flailing about to build momentum, I'll just leave. Or hell, close distance and negate the whole attack.

  • @wazwolf You think rope dart and meteor hammer can't be used in close combat? Watch Maginificent Warriors - Rope Dart Fight with Michelle Yeoh! XP

  • @omg0what0happened lol, I saw that. Awesome choreography. But, I was looking for a real match with the weapon. All the videos are just showy and flashy. The real thing just seems too avoidable or easily dealt with. That's alot of needless movement. Aiki.

  • @wazwolf Lol good luck trying to find a REAL rope dart/meteor hammer fight. All these weapons can actually kill someone or seriously hurt them XP

  • @omg0what0happened Well, you can still spar with a weighted dart or meteor. Rubber, or any training device. Just nothing to find expect choreography.

Again, I like the looks, just not sure about the actual function. As kids, we played with these things in class, and you could always entangle it around something solid. But we were goofing off.

  • IDK. That guy was pretty fucking accurate. Being on the wrong end of that weapon would be a death sentence.

  • @wazwolf thats what you think but chances are he'll you hit sooner than you think he can

  • COME OVER HERE!

  • How come the Chinese have all the eccentric (aka weirdo) weaponry?

But I have to agree. That solid metal end... ouch. I bet it could kill a man with one blow on the head, especially given the acceleration that thing has when it's being "fired".

  • we've been fighting in wars for 5000 years, so when soldiers r bored during peace time they doodle.

  • lol if i try to do this i probably not just smash my balls, but remove them

  • Fantistic! this man has skills.

I am learning, well, im learning with fire :P

Check it out if you want to see a fire rope dart

  • Seems like a GREAT way to cave your head in by accident.

  • @Fishfliphatsock

"Seems like a GREAT way to cave your head in by accident."

Do poi for a few years then dealing with just one spinning object as opposed to two is cake in comparison, keys would be to know your limits and to get that sense of where the dart is rotating and when, I've been practicing this kind of thing with a 1lb kunai I got, and that things already hurt me, but I barely make contact where I dont want to anymore, practice makes "perfect".

  • This is fantastic! What a graceful way to have one's skull crushed. Maybe one of the cooler ways to go.

  • can someone tell me what is the name of this documentary?

  • hes amazingly accurate

  • dude, this guy could put holes in your skull with pinpoint accuracy. dont hate the art just cuz you suck at it.

  • the stuff this guy is doing is really hard, but the basics are pretty easy. I've learned shooting from my elbow, neck, and feet in a few weeks without hitting myself even once

  • @alaricofarabia nice. i've cracked my head with the whip chain so many times i'm afraid of these.

  • @dmd54 the movements of a chain whip are pretty different

  • @alaricofarabia i know what you mean, i'm like obsessed with the chain whip. with weapons like ours when you can take pride in saying you once went a week w/o hitting yourself. you know its hard to master XD

  • @BoaVenom18 How the hell do you work that thing without killing yourself? I think it's probably one of the sickest weapons out there. I want to learn it.

  • @KidRaggedBoy how to survive practicing with it? use a VERY VERY dull object (w/ chain whip). but with the meteor hammer. you cant get the same momentum and increase saftey. you're pretty much fucked there XD

no but seriously. they are fun to learn, and when you do get injured (notice how i said when not if) think of them as injuries of pride. if you hurt yourself when all you're doing is practicing image what happens when you REALLY use it!

  • Okay, lets give them some credit. Can you imagine how difficult and dangerous it is to master these flail-like weapons? I wonder if they replace the ends with softer materials for practice before they attempt the real thing?

  • I believe scorpian's weapon was based off of the rope dart so its not surprising you see similarities.

  • i bet the learning curve for this thing is pretty steep...

  • Ok, now I am curious, what would be this next "most lethal chinese weapon of ancient times" he would talk about in the vid that "not just smash heads, but remove them"? Is it really something as obvious as a sword? xD

  • its the flying guillotine

  • As maddkid said, it's the flying guillotine. It's a weapon that is not proved to have existed but is rumored to have been responsible for a lot of assassinations. They tried to recreate a flying guillotine, but with little success. They determined that to use it effectively, one had to be TRAINED HARDCORE.

  • @shogunsetsu don't ask. You'll die laughing

  • Watch out guys, he might break your tea pots.

  • LOL TEA POTS

  • @ramenronin oh no... not my teapots!!

  • A knife through what? It's easier to cut butter with hot knife than it is to cut clay. I would've said bricks, but that would've been unfair to the butter.

  • I thought that the dart would be sharper than that.

  • I remember when Jackie Chan attached a horseshoe to a rope in Shanghai Noon. It looked a lot like these weapons. He was awesome.

  • they need a movie with a hero who wields the rope dart.

  • the easiest weapon is the best weapon!! damn that sucks if the rope wraps around ur neck

  • Haha it looks like it but you have no idea how much force it has when it's thrown...

  • why do you want to pierce baby skin?

  • Maybe you're actually aiming for bludgeoning and internal bleeding?

Since the dart itself is not actually sharp.

  • it will cut

  • the MH looks like fun but the dart could be poisoned so it can be deadlier

  • 5 stars!

  • I culd own

  • WOw, dude are you even LISTENING to me?

I said any bronze armor can easily be crushed, including the skull inside the helmet

Any Steel heavy armor including Gothic Armor, can cause Knockouts, or heavy brain damage.

    They have already tested it.

And why the HELL and HOW would ANYONE test ANYTHING YOU suggest out of the blue?

Think about that for a sec you biased dimwit.

  • They aren't TESTING it against clay pots, they are PRACTICING. against clay pots. Jesus christ you're such a dumbass.

"No matter how big fan you are of the MH it is not good weapon for combat against ready prepared armed enemy at direct attack."

Thats what I fucking said, you idiot. I'm not TELLING you its an effecient weapon, it ISN'T, I'm telling you its good vs armor, you fucking insecure idiot.

  • Come back when you can fucking speak the language, and READ it.

because quite honestly, you're a bloody idiot. You're not even paying attention to anythign I'm saying. You just take it as a contridiction to your arguement. Thats how fucking stupid you are.

That and you think you're RIGHT about everything? wtf 1kg? Ninjas using Crossbows? Are you fucking retarded? And OBVIOUSLY telling everyone "A LONG RANGE WEAPON HAS MORE RANGE THAN A MELEE WEAPON" ARE YOU SURE!? Jesus. Stupid.

  • Comment removed

  • And I have ALREADY said again,

The MH is PROBABLY not exactly useful in a fight with more than 2 people, because it gets caught on everything.

And its MAIN purpose was for distraction and catching limbs/tripping or grasping weapons out of hands in a heavy combat situation.

    READ ...christ.
