Thinking about it for a while, Megabyte going after revenge instead of conquest actually does make sense. Why bother taking over the city when you've already done it before? It took him most of 3 seasons to do it the first time, and ruined it in the process. Why do it again?
One thing I would have liked to see in the show, is bringing in the User, ala TRON. Bob did mention that he would find out more about him in the opening narration, but never followed through on it in the show.

the thing is, Deamon already had someone who could make portals for her, Ray Tracer. (For that matter, Web creatures, other viruses and Code masters can to)
and why didn't the mainframers use the paint program against Daemon, there doesn't seem to be a thing in the entire net and web more powerful than a paint program.

Megabyte never wanted access to the portal, He outsmarted Dot and made an Alias of himself to make them believe he was captured and was able to sneak into the control room. He did caused a system crash, but he was bannished to the web and humiliated, it is pretty normal that now, he would want a serious revenge and make sure that none of them come back.
@Kerokittycat Does it makes sense that Megabyte tries to marry Dot?.She is the main reason of his defeat, bob and Matrix are strong, but dot always is the one making up the plans. Playing iwth her emotions and making her betray bob once again is far more evil than just go on a murdering rampage. In fact, it even almost killed bob all because of the struggle Dot was having deciding which one was the real one. The new megabyte is vicious and just plain sadic, much more deep than the other seasons.

When he took over Megaframe the goal was to get to the supercomputer, but he couldn't. All the destruction was just a byproduct.
But when he comes back he makes it very, very personal. He doesn't care about the super computer or power, all he wants to do is mess up the Mainframers as much as possible. The opposite of Daemon. Which is why it works, imo.
I remember watching this as a kid on saturday morning cartoons. I always loved watching it. I don't remember when it stopped showing I just remember it stopped coming up on tv in the morning. I kinda wanna rewatch this again anyone have a website for the episodes?
(ENDING) - Just then Adult Enzo says "I don't think so." and shoots Megabyte in the head causing his new army to shut down and blow up. Later the portal is being dismantled and Daemon is saved by the healing virus that was created when hexadecimal died while going through the portal. Later a new portal is created after finding out Daemon was cured and then she comes back and Adult Enzo and Daemon get married. CREDITS ROLL! - NO MORE CLIFF HANGER!!!

I liked the 2nd for it's character development; which in my opinion is what makes anything good. The fighting stuff was done, but now the characters need to come to grips with what has happened; where they've been, how they've changed, all of that. That's what the 2nd movie accomplished. Quite well too.

REBOOT WAS THE BEST!!!! But honestly, I think it went downhill since the whole Damon episodes. No stable plot. haha the Stargate comparisons were great. And there was something that's different with the 'new' Bob.
I'm starting to see a trend here. If there's a giant ring that teleports people to far off places, it must be Canadian made. Hell, even Stargate Atlantis is on as I speak. Now David Hewlett... he is one funny guy.
Yeah I have to disagree with your complaints about Megabyte's motives: He was sucked into the web just when he was finally going to get into the supercomputer and all his plans were undone... so yeah, that's for than enough for any reason to want revenge. And I don't think he changed his mind about taking the principal office, that was his original intention, he faked them out. Good review though.
Oh, excellent review. No use of bad language is a definate plus, and your relative monotone mixed with light and delicate emotion when needed was well placed. Being a nerd of Reboot, there's some things regarding the series that I hadn't caught on.
I disagree a tad with you here... I really don't think Megabyte needs much of a motive. One, he's probably a little nuts in the first place after everything that happened. Two, just because everything is safe from Daemon doesn't mean it is safe from the Megabyte virus. Three, revenge IS realistic, he fucked over mainframe, and now everyone is happy, that would piss me off if I was Megabyte.

When the show aired, I didn't know about stargate. Then some years past and I started watching and loving stargate.
The, I rewatch reboot, and I notice the stargate.

I liked both movies.
I liked the 2nd for it's character development; which in my opinion is what makes anything good. The fighting stuff was done, but now the characters need to come to grips with what has happened; where they've been, how they've changed, all of that. That's what the 2nd movie accomplished. Quite well too.
