I don't know why some other singer hasn't jumped at the chance to make this a huge hit that it is. Then again I don't know why it wasn't the hit Syreeta made it. With Stevie's help one would think her stardom was a shoein. But I like it too, that we who love her are devoted as we are to find her again here. Thanks for the music Syreeta!
Thanks for this - it was a blast from the past! Didn't remember who sang it - just woke up with it in my head, strangely enough - glad it was here - wonderful trip down memory lane :o)
syeeeta is also stevie wonder's first child aiesha morris mother i been looking for music forever seem like i stumble upon her music just years back me being a bonified stevie fan.....r.i.p syreeta that vox is amazing
@on7allday That is a common mistake, Ms. Aisha's mother is named Yolanda. It is her that is heard with Stevie on the track ''Isn't She Lovely'', recorded long after their divorce---On a side note to Motown Master, no disrespect, but could you possibly put your commentary alone in your profile,if your doing this for the enjoyment of those who click on i believe everyone would just as soon get to the music. I'd rather much read your comments as i listen along-i'm jus sayin
I bought this album from a friend way back in the 70's and have lost it. I've been trying to get it on cd ever since but no one seems to have it at a decent price. I'll keep trying. One of my favorite album. Beautiful singer and a sad loss. RIP Syreeta
This is one of the most underestimated songs of the past 50 years. I remember hearing it on radio back in the 70's. It was magical. A very, very rare piece of perfection.
Only a few singers can do this justice. Why it didn't become a mega classic is beyond my understanding.
I can imagine if Streisand, Hudson, or Houston had done this song.
Oh Joy.... Thanks for sharing this jewel Motown Master.
and yes Syreeta sang as a back up recording studio musician with Minnie Riperton & Denice Williams, and sometimes Luther Vandross. Also wasmarried to Stevie Wonder for a while. They remained good friends after the storm. Stevie Wonder is all over this song. RIP Syreeta.
we used to sing this in the school yard in 3rd grade, around the time I put together my first singing group with Eric W. & Lawrence T. We ended up with drama right away as Eric left the group to join with another after he got in trouble when all 3 of us were singing during an assemble program! He was the only one that got caught. This song brings back such memories. It make me feel like a kid all over again, if but only for a moment. The whole album is the bomb!
I used to play it for hours and hours. they say Syreeta had a higher vocal range than either Mariah Carey, or The song bird who died young what was her name? Yes, this song evokes pure rapture!
The ENTIRE album is inundated with classics!!!"Just a Little Piece of You"," I Want To Be Bt Your Side" with G.C. Cameron, and "Universal Sound Of The World". The significance of this album is that Stevie was in love with Syreeta when he produced it. She was a secretary in the Motown office. She recently passed away from cancer. R.I.P.
I bought this record and I used to spin around to it holding my baby daughter in her arms until she fell asleep. Such a beautiful song. thanks for the memories.
Thanks VERY much for posting this song - it's strange that's is hardly ever played anymore. The same goes for 'Harmour Love', which also is one of my all-time favorites. I think Syreeta was a fantastic singer. This song also highlights one of the most creative phases in the life of Stevie Wonder. All his songs are filled with love and lust for life.
She was such a beautiful and talented lady, i just turned on my cousin to her music, now he wants to find all her stuff, lol its very sad she is no longer with us, R.I.P Syreeta

@on7allday No they had no children. Aisha was born in 1976 to a woman Stevie never married. Hence the need to write and realease "Isnt She Lovely"

Besides Stevie, who sings on this near the end, Syreeta is singing all the vocals on this.

I love this song so much, and I still have the single on vinyl. I play it regularly but strangely enough, I don't know anything other than this song.

There was a different version with her singing this great song. It had a different ending with a kind of synthesizer stacato a the end that fades out.
Anyone have any information where to get that one. You'd end a search of mine that has lasted for more than 25 years now.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards.
