RE5 Wesker is by far the coolest wesker to ever voice him in any of the games... Plus i am almost certain that guy is still alive somewhere i doubt he died lol guy was so badass i fought him at least 20times in Re5 just for that. @ponemasterj not really weird since RE5 was, at that time, the latest Resident Evil *proper* game to be available. I'd rather they take from the game (RE5) that was a new release a year before the movie came out, rather than a game (RE4) that came out 4-5 years previous
And by *proper* game, I mean a main-line game (RE1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), not side games like Darkside Chronicles (which was released at the end of 2009)

I mean "Alice" pretty much hogged all the picture that when they brought in the true resident evil people, there was no significant roles for them since Alice is doing all the work. The film franchise is seperate from the game series. Thats why they never named the films "Resident evil 1 or Resident evil 2" rather they added titles to the next installments. The films are spin offf standalone series. Also Jill was in 2 of the resident evil movies not 1.

Wesker is better in game ofc, but they did a fucking good job with him in the movie. They made the Nemesis look badass as well although if he was faster, didn't rely on his weapons so much and didn't turn into a pussy at the end he would of been great :/ Oh and not to die so easily -.-. @234Assassin Alice is a character made specifically for the film series. They are slowly adding in all of the Game characters (Chris, Jill, Claire, Wesker, and soon the blonde return of Jill and Leon), but they are keeping the game storylines and the film storylines separate. It would be near impossible for a single film, or even series of films, to do the games justice, as the games already do that themselves. The films are a side-story in a sense, and i am fine with that :)
@234Assassin i personally didn't like Resident Evil 1 and 2 (the films). 1 felt too disconnected from the games since there were no real game-related characters to speak of, and 2 pulled way too many punches during the fight scenes. Granted I only watched it once and that was in the theater, but it seemed like you never really saw any of the punches make contact in the fight scenes. Just *swing*, impact sound, person hit goes flying. Skipped over 3, watched 4, liked it, then watched 3

i think its pretty cool that they got an actor that was pretty close to Wesker in the game, considering that said actor had never played any of the RE games
@nicktk You don't seem to understand video game moves. Normally, they almost completely ignore the canon and events of the game. Literally the only similarities to the game characters are their names. Did Alice appear in the games? No. Did Wesker have a freakin' Plaga Head coming out of his mouth in ANY of the games? No. Did half of the characters in the previous movies appear in any of the games? No. Hilariously enough, that's the only scene that has anything to do with the games.
This is why I think video game film adaptations are pretty much obsolete now. Video games are becoming increasingly cinematic in themselves, that a film version would just be redundant. The only way I can see a video game movie working in the future is if it's a separate story. Kinda like how the Star Wars novels continue the story the films started, video game films can continue the story the game series started.

I love the rE movies and games but the only thing that kills me about the movies is Wesker..he should have been present since the first RE movie, maybe as a Captain in the squad that infiltrated the hive or something..and then when they decide to finally introduce Wesker, he only shows up twice in the movie and doesn't even put up a good fight in the end, and they cold have done a much better job in finding an actor, same with Chris Redfield, Claire was ok

Capcom is pretty much stationed in japan and all the resident evil movies are pretty much copyright from the games
they see the game then they make it into a movie
We can complain all we want but it's not gonna change anything
I personally like the 2nd & 3rd movie but this one is just not looking like an original story line almost all the fight scenes here are copied from the game

People who hate the RE movies...just deal with and stop watching these videos to give us opinions to which fans of the movies clearly dont care about. That said, I think Shawn Roberts was a great Wesker, and "Should've brought more" is better than the RE5 quote. Long live the RE movies, we'll see you haters on September 14, 2012 when "Retribution" comes out :)

DOOM, Tomb Raider, Super Mario Brothers...I have expectations for movies, but when I know what the series is capable of, I let go of those expectations. You don't need to lecture me on film, I'm studying film in College, so don't worry about it. All I'm trying to get across is haters are gonna hate, nobody is forcing you to watch these movies, and if you know they suck, then stop watching...easy.

Now I'm not one to complain all I wish is that hollywood would stop pumping out such crap as this, milking a failing franshise for every penny it's worth and start making real original masterpieces which they will once again get fat on.

Being a critic, I can understand and appreciate that, you get paid to talk about what you thought of the movie, but just being somebody on youtube who doesn't like and can't stop complaining about it is different. Again, personally I enjoy the movies because I go in knowing it's NOT like the games...at all. The games have kinda gotten worse and people are saying that the movies have gotten worse...so basically it's the same.

@nicktk You don't seem to understand video game moves. Normally, they almost completely ignore the canon and events of the game. Literally the only similarities to the game characters are their names. Did Alice appear in the games? No. Did Wesker have a freakin' Plaga Head coming out of his mouth in ANY of the games? No. Did half of the characters in the previous movies appear in any of the games? No. Hilariously enough, that's the only scene that has anything to do with the games.

This is why I think video game film adaptations are pretty much obsolete now. Video games are becoming increasingly cinematic in themselves, that a film version would just be redundant. The only way I can see a video game movie working in the future is if it's a separate story. Kinda like how the Star Wars novels continue the story the films started, video game films can continue the story the game series started.
