  • July 2, 1992. 19 years old. NEC 8404 (DOC)

  • What I understand from this video is that conservatives (since that is who funded this video) are calling me a faithless coward who wouldn't protect this country. Which I go to church and I'm in the military. I'm even more offended in the end where he states that I would be more concerned about music than health care applying that I am ignorant because of my age, too lazy to be involved with my county's future, or just to stupid to understand basic politics.

  • All you have to do to get the youth vote is keep the gravy train rolling. Since they think the world revolves around them. And that they are entitled to any thing and everything on another person's dime.

  • Erica Williams destroyed this idiot in her Video Response. Watch it to see everything that is wrong with this video.

  • This is the stupid video I've ever seen on YT and that says a lot. Mattera is a hack and conservatives will NEVER win the youth vote.

  • How is that Obama kool aid tasting now?

  • Is this guy trying to be all hip hop? What a tool! Yah, the GOP is having problems with the youth vote mainly due to their ideas.

Two wars, corporate cronyinsm, runn away capitalism and not to mention the second great depression.

  • @beavis1a03

    Update: 8 months later Obama = Bush x 3

    Obama = liar

You were all fooled, wake up and see where we are headed.

  • @paradisesilk

For someone who fancies himself a 'hard-working Conservative' you sure do have a lot of time on your hands to be trolling every comments section with liberals in it. What happened? Got fired from your job?!

  • Let's face facts, anyone could win, be influenced and be swayed by a particular liberal agenda's goal, with the Center for American Progress, ACLU, ACORN, and others on their side, they pump millions of dollars into age biased targeted campaigning and it isn't until we are much older that we realize it, think back to when you were in college, and be honest, how many conservative speakers spoke at your campus? really I don't remember even 1..........let's present both sides

  • Um actually if you see the video response to this one, that's not AT ALL true.

  • Um and actually the other video presents the other side as well which responds directly to this video.

  • LOL!!! EPIC FAIL!!!! The GOP neo-cons hate anything young, because it means change. Besides the neo-cons have multiple billionaires to fund their think-tanks. Really dude, what color crack were you smoking!?

    "Hot Air" indeed.

  • Fuck this guy....he's a pussy chickenhawk.

    Fuck him...Motherfucker.

  • Jason Mattera - a chickenhawk himself talking about conservatives fighting for America. See this asshat on Hardball saying he's "fighting the war here in America".

  • Do you have a plate in your head? Your rebuttals are retarded. But then again maybe you are....Sorry...don't forget to wear helmet child...and don't play with matches.

  • What you didn't watch the opposing video that rebuts this one? Jason Mattera is that you?

  • Jason's argument doesn't hold. If conservatives who think government doesn't do a good job, why would they join the military, run by the, you guessed it, the government? What a moron.

  • PITIFUL. He just asked for the liberal youth vote, and then turned right around and offended all youth who classify themselves as liberal by saying that they wont go and defend their country. And conservatives wonder why they can't get youth support. Thanks for illustrating that Jason. Great job.

  • It's November 9th and Obama is president-elect. Too bad the GOP didn't listen. Too bad that the McCain and Palin teams acted like bickering little children. Too bad for all of us.

  • Great Vid Jason, Fanstastic Comments!

It's true, young people need to be won over. Look at the Paul Revolution, Basically Conservative Young people joined in droves because the Mainstream parties Didn't offer ANYTHING different. Ron Paul, though most of his idea's were off base did have some Great idea's and as such He and his vocal support group do deserve to be Listened to. I don't want Ron Paul as my Prez but let's listen.

It's TIME the GOP listened to the NEXT Generation of Voters. NOW!

  • Go McCain/Palin!

  • I'm conservative.

  • I almost feel for the guy...

  • I'm conservative but they need a better spokesman who can enunciate better. twenty

    not "twonty" billionaire not "billionaih".

I know it's a northeastern accent, but it's still not proper english. "internet" not "intanet". 59 not "fiftynah".

Also 4 minutes video? Try making videos of 90 seconds.. so they can feel like the want more, not "ok I got enough".

For the record valid points are made, and I agree, you'll get more intelling young minds sounding intelligent not like a NY alleyway.

  • .

    watch?v=gq08ouOwiqQ

    .

  • what a moron! does he really think conservatives have a chance in hell of taking the youth vote from the democrats?

  • is this guy wearing a hair piece?

  • You created this. Stop blaming others.

  • Oh my god, this is so freaking hilarious. Yeeeeeah. George Soros is the reason why the youth aren't backing the GOP. Give me a break. And nice "street" accent dork. "Yo yo yo! GOP in the hizzy!" Oh man, this is rich. This is getting forwarded to all of my dem friends... you have to see shit like this to believe it! Best of luck to you guys, keep opposing abortion while supporting war. Great plan knuckleheads!

  • Okay, so much to correct you on!

First, political activism IS the way to better humanity, NOT GOD. Did the church give women the right to vote? Did the church end slavery?

Joining the military in this "war" isn't defending America. It's giving people like Cheney, Bush and many many more a bigger pay check. You're being fooled!

Healthcare is something that matters to us young people. We're not stupid, that's why we don't align ourselves with your naive party.

    And Reagan WAS a NAZI!

  • actually, it was Church people who led the fight against slavery and to protect women's rights. You should read up on William Wilberforce and Susan B. Anthony. No your history befor you speak, buddy.

An let the government run healthcare too? Because it has done such a great job with social security, right?!? If you don't trust the government to prosecute wars, why do you trust them to provide doctors? Why do you have gullible trust in big government?

  • actually, it was Church people who led the fight against slavery and to protect women's rights. You should read up on William Wilberforce and Susan B. Anthony. No your history befor you speak, buddy.

  • Also, Church people fought for slavery and against womans rights!

  • You are right. Many Southern Baptist churches used scripture to justify supporting slavery. The Mormon Church spent millions fighting the ERA.

  • Oh you mean the church that used the Bible to outlaw interracial marriage as well as justify slavery.

  • Well, as much as I respect Senator McCain, the GOP won't be capturing the Youth Vote by continuing to run 70+ year old presidents as they're doing now and as they did in 1996 with Bob Dole.

  • You are mixing up different ideas of conservatism in this video.

  • Reagan was a NAZI

  • lol, I dunno what you're smoking, but i don't consider Ronald Reagan "beloved." For that matter, I've never heard of "innate conservatism." Just about every youth voter I know definitely considers themselves democrat, or independent with democratic leanings. How is health care not an important issue? And you try to trick people with that "websites you visit" argument, but what about Bush's eavesdropping? lol, its entertaining how little your piece makes sense.

  • Shut up and enlist, COWARD! We obviously need more soldiers to win. Don't you guys want to win? You have not enlisted because you are AFRAID.

  • Young people 18-24 could care less about politics in general. Young conservatives are a very tiny group. Democrats will always when when young voter turnout is high. Young people don't care about old republican views.

  • damn, dog. You and your damn Antichrist, and protecting the bowels of hell itself - The Antichrist Ranch only so we can go to war and start the Armageddon, the 2nd coming of Reagan, in 2012. NO THANKS!

  • "Young conservatives are more likely to join the military than to join a Presidential campaign. Liberals don't have to worry about young people leaving their staff to defend America."

Considering the fact that you have never served in the military, Mr. Mattera, you are the last person who should make assumptions like that. But then again, I suppose I shouldn't expect anything different from a hypocritical chickenhawk like you.

  • the LAST thing liberals want to do is question the ideological makeup of the military. 83 percent of servicemen describe themselves as moderate to conservative. Only 8 percent—8 percent—describe themselves as liberal. Secondly, it's an intellectually defenseless argument to say that every person who supports the military must therefore join. Metafact supports police officers, but i'm sure he's not a cop.

  • That's because no one will argue that police officers are not necessary. No one will argue that firemen are necessary. You're talking about a war that was started on less than accurate evidence. If you really believe in the war and voice your opinion that other young men and women should go and fight then you should join as well.

  • IraqVetNY is exactly right. Hollow bravado and declarations of "support" don't compensate for the fact that you're pushing for a war you are not willing to fight. The current military-including the 8 percent liberals who are braver than men like Mattera-are strained and worn out from poor strategy, inadequate equipment, and low troop numbers. Yet you sit in your comfy college campus and demand that they keep fighting this "worthy" cause. If it's so damn worthy, why aren't you fighting it?!?

  • You are so right on IraqVetNY and metafact! As a disabled vet, the only time I've ever felt disrespected was by yahoos like Jason here. He pulls out figures out of his ass- conservative youths are too busy overseas fighting the war to work in politics. And yet, here is Jason, not serving.

  • figures out of his ass? only 8 percent of the military describes themselves as liberal. That's PATHETIC! on the other hand, 45 percent of servicemen describe themselves as conservative.

  • Since you obviously can't read polls. And since there is no poll that gives the choice of conservative or liberal, I'll give you some help. The Military Times poll dated December 31, 2007 has the breakdown as follows.

    Very conservative 8.8%

    Conservative 37%

    Moderate 38.7%

    Liberal 7%

    Very liberal 1.4%

    Decline to answer 7.1%

  • are you and idiot? The choice is "Conservative" and "Very Conservative." The Conservatives make up 45 percent. The Liberal category only makes up 8 percent. Yea, i answered my own question. You are an idiot.

  • So I guess a majority of those who took the military times poll are....NOT CONSERVATIVE. Of course, if you were in the military, you could find this out on your own.

  • the Military Times poll states that 45 percent of servicemen and women consider themselves conservative, 35 percent are moderate, and only 8 percent consider themselves liberal. 8 percent is pathetic. The facts are clear: a plurality of those in the military are conservative. Since you can't even read a poll, i really hope you don't vote.

  • You are a sad little man.

  • Your type of conservative would be equal to "very conservative" in those polls. I'm sure you would have very little common ground with those military members who describe themelves as just conservative. And again, 47.1% in the poll are not conservative.

  • and only 8 percent of servicemen are liberal. PATHETIC. Conservatives constitute a plurality of the military.

  • Again that doesn't discount the fact that 47.1 % are NOT conservative.

  • you must be an idiot...

    45 percent conservative

    38 percent moderate

    8 percent liberal

Who makes up a plurality? Oh, that's right. It's the conservatives. I can flip it and say that more than 80 percent are not liberal. Ha!

  • I'm counting both moderates and liberals. Those are not conservative. They don't identify as conservatives. That number equals 47.1 percent which is more than the 45 percent that identify as conservative. Any other math help you need?

  • cryan71, let's walk you through this slowly, because you're obviously dumb. You count moderates and liberals. Fine. Now let's count moderates and conservatives. Your number is 47 and my number is 83. Nearly double. Will you acknowledge that liberals only makeup 8 percent of the armed forces? And will you acknowledge that is pathetic?

  • Sorry, moderates are not conservative. Next chickenhawk please.

  • and moderates are not liberals, hence the term moderate. DUH. You just can't come to grips with the fact that liberals make up a pathetic percentage--8--of the armed forces. Conservatives 45 percent, liberals 8 percent. Liberal PUSSIES.

  • Hence when I said all those who are NOT CONSERVATIVES (i.e. Moderates, Liberals, Humans)are a larger than those who say they are conservative. Don't you have a war to fight, oh right never mind.

  • Hence when i said the 83 percent who ARE NOT liberals. Gosh, you're dumb. Really dumb.

  • You are even more dumb.

  • @cryan71

Don't forget that a lot of folks identify as Cnservatives simply because the Right bashed the word Liberal and liberalism relentlessly for years. I doubt 47 percent of Americans know who William F. Buckley Jr. was.

Anyone who has to talk about their military service online must think as little of their own military service as they do of others. It's gotten to the point that I think Conservatives see it as another form of "Keepin up with the Jones". Seriously, whenever you meat-headed shitsacks aren't wasting your time indulging mindless materialism and consumption, you're busy throwing feces on things you hate.

  • also, why "chickenhawks" might be hypocritical, at least Bush served in the national guard unlike running to England or not serving at all like Barry Obama.

I also find highly amusing when rich white kids tell me i need to give more money to the gov't for the Dems social engineering programs. Fuck off.

  • Bush serving in the national guard? He barely showed up. When did military service become a prerequisite for being president? Is this a new constitution or that old one?

  • i never said it was a a prerequisite, but its ironic i always here the left (idk what you politics are, so please correct me if im wrong) always harping about chickenhawks and so forth, but the great barry o has no military background (unless you consider class warfare a military matter) and bill clinton was a draft dodger.

also, i still find it funny rich white libs tell me they need more of my tax dollars for their social programs.

  • You are arrogant.

  • @YAFTV

"83 percent of servicemen describe themselves as moderate to conservative. Only 8 percent—8 percent—describe themselves as liberal"

This is misleading. You are grabbing the MODERATES and trying to pass it off as part of conservatism "not liberal" from that Times poll. If the liberals did the same trick: 45% conservative 47%moderate, liberal or very liberal

Your point about "active in church"- You want us to follow those that believe in invisible beings with magical powers.

  • @YAFTV

"Secondly, it's an intellectually defenseless argument to say that every person who supports the military must therefore join"

I agree with that, but the point in the video was Matera with his "we dont have to worry about..." comment implies the left doesn't serve, yet didnt do so himself. That's a chicken hawk.

Plus if that was really your point, you should have supported Kerry or Gore over Bush & Chenney who didn't serve.

Still being young why not go now?

  • You wanna know how to capture the "youth vote"?

    Turn yourself into Ron Paul.

  • Green Screen? How did you get the cool background?

  • Great Vent! Thanks Jason!
