@THEMETALHEAD968 You're right, they're not a tool ripoff. They are a shameless tool ripoff. Thanks for the correction. Tool actually has some coherent thought behind their music.
@misterbilbotbaggins go listen to tool then if you like them, gojira have some similarities to tool but that doesn't make them a "shameless tool rip-off".
@THEMETALHEAD968 I will, but there's no reason why I can't educate people about better, more original bands. Tool pretty much originated the neo psych rock style and this band is clearly riding on their coattails. I'm not sure why a metal head would be so adamant about a band like Gojira anyway, but whatever.
Damn, i found this melody so inventive. The first time i heard it i didn't know how to react about the vocals, it's, in a way that Joe used to sing with effects, so different but are those songs that you need to hear many times to find the geniality of them.
@GrimmsPendulum how would that be terrible? They are both into saving the environment and saying very deep meanings in their songs and they are also way awesome in the music industry.
@Pokez0rd i still dont understand the big deal SOAD,Gojira and Tool are all into the world, real problems on earth and society. Nothing wrong in the slightest to add them together and find out what amazing things they can do together
@Pokez0rd you have your own opinions, but I will not accept this as an answer since you didnt give any valid proof nor reason behind your thoughts. Good Day
@Pokez0rd Never really listened to Tool, but SoaD is a great band too. 911Vanny has a valid point that Gojira and SoaD both have lyrics involving there world vision and those visions don't seem very far apart. A collaboration could be cool from lyrical perspective though I doubt that I would musically fit
@Pokez0rd No, but I do have a basic understanding of music theory. Both of those bands use standard verse-chorus-verse-chorus-solo-chorus song structures that the Beatles made popular. And that you can enjoy on any radio station, with the riffs and words changed ad nauseum. Bands like Gojira, Mastodon, Meshuggah, Neurosis, and, yes, even bands that aren't "heavy" like SOAD and Tool, those bands have this crazy thing in their music called "progression" and therefore actually have to write songs.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!

Devildriver and Machinehead are pop music with yelling and screaming. Dez Fafara is a joke.
