  • 0:51 for jkes xD

  • in this video damon reminds me of eminem

  • Damon's soooo cute!! :3 ^_^

  • o.o I WANT THAT HAT!

  • I love those furry hats that everyone thought were great in the 90's :D

Oh, and I also love the guy wearing that fluffy hat :)

  • that kind of keyboard my friend is what alot of musicians on the go use they tune it to make what sounds they what that are recording and each key will produce sounds that a you wouldnt expect from a keyboard and is nice and portable

  • What kind of keyboard is this??

  • @hongdekong It's not a keyboard, it's a Roland TR-606 Drum Machine :D

  • Prefer Blur 1000000 times more than Oasis...and i like Oasis but....

Its me, or Alex looks sofickin hooooooot

  • aw... i so loved the 90s. massive attack, blur, prodigy here and a LOT of cool bands in the US.

i never really 'got' oasis tho. they just seemed like an ordinary northern pub band that wrote some 'strong' trax and went massive.. just a buncha council estate lads looking awkward on stage but obv wrote some great songs, then the faux arrogance came in and i couldn't stand them. still can't. weird.

  • @narred I totally agree. I got a firend who went to see Oasis in Paris an it was aweful, but mostly because of the stupid and hysterical fans, people mashed eachother, several injured persons too... And that never happend with Massive Attack or Prodigy (altough it was pretty energic when i saw them live) and i assume it's the same for Blur

  • @rocksinoo yeh. the ironic thing is that i'm [well, was...] a council estate kid! and northern!!! yet i go for blur over oasis? someone's gonna call me a class traitor soon.

  • @narred Your not the only northern estate kid who'd choose Blur. Oasis may have some top pub jukebox tunes, but the Gallaghers are arseholes. Blur are a class act, and all their music tops anything Oasis produced!

  • Damon sure likes to jump. Legend

  • @kadablanba Blur in 1997 XD

  • When you listened to this it is not hard to understand why Damon went on to the experimental Gorillaz. Blur is top 100 (experimental) bands.

  • This song is class!

  • Que grande!!!Este video esta rodado en mi barrio!!!

  • @LadyReha de donde sos??

  • the best

  • Comment removed

  • I was deeply absorbed in listening to the fifth album and 13 .it's so Great stuff!!

  • I don't know if someone already commented this, but I always thought that this video is some kind of parody of the video by Oasis "D'you know what I mean", given the rivalry that existed between them back in the 90's.

    May I be wrong???

  • @comalcalco Maybe ?? I agree that they both uses helicopters and Damon's wearing sun glasses like Galagher so you could be damn right !

  • Someone should really help dave out of that hole...

  • zomg. . . he poking at Jay K from jamiroquai?

  • this is the precursor to the band the gorillas. awesome tune

  • LOL at Graham 2:20 :L

    Ahhhh i love blur

  • Oh man. Damon looks good in pretty much everything but even he can't rock that hat. I hope it really blew away at the end. /end fashion police rant, lol

  • wheels on the left side

  • man Damon loves looking like hes going insane in his videos lol

  • 3:00 he said gorilla!! thats the new band he gots!!! OMG he knew the whole time!!!!XD

  • The 90's were SO weird. XD

  • wow, OKGO ripped this song off hard-core!

  • Who was the dumb ass director who let Damon drive in this video?

  • I love blur!

  • damon looks so badman :L x

  • Graham...how many times do we need to ask you to stop stalking Damon?!?!?! Sheesh.

  • THE DOOOOOOOOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA

  • Alex is too cool for this video... lulz

  • @4StrawberrySwing2

He's like Bez in this video ... he doesn't even have to play an instrument, his job is to just lurk in the background =)

  • This is catchy, but probably the worst single from Blur.

  • @SALIMGUY in my opinion country house was worse :P

  • Best song Blur ever done :)

  • haha Damon's hat

    love this song :)

  • Blur sort of reminds me of what a love child between Monty Python and Candlebox might have been like.

  • Haha Damon getting his chav out! THIS is why i love blur... :-)

  • Fuck Oasis - Blur are the kings! :D Go sexy Damo!...

  • Damon genio

  • i didnt know damon was epileptic. lol.

  • Black guy wants some air time

  • Damon's failed attempt at breakdancing is so WIN xD

  • † : IdentityCrisisBH† : great, sounds like old Clash.

  • @ePhilosopher9 old clash?

i dont think so its not fast enough

  • Take me back to the 90's!!!!

  • In school I was always on the side of Blur over Oasis. I just thought that Blur were more fun and ingenious whilst Oasis had that whole football chant quality to their music. Liam Gallagher was clearly threatened by Damons style as he kept ripping into them in interviews

  • I liked both bands based on their music rather than the media hype

  • i was the opposite, i think it did generally create a divide between the working class kids and the middle class kids.

However i think blur were sold short, as singles like country house and parklife gave them a style that wasnt 100% true to thier sound, i mean i never bought into them because of these tunes, however now i realised how good they actually are. alex james is a proper twat still though!

  • does anyone know the name of the version on the Beach?

  • its called On Your Own [Crouch End Broadway Mix].

i thought it sounded good on the film aswell but on the cd its not actually that great. the chorus is only sang once

  • @THeEraSerr

It's the "On Your Own [Crouch End Broadway Mix]". Hope that helps.

  • haaaaaa white people and their silly ways.

  • Aw, his hat fell off at the end. XD

  • I know they were being ironic with this video, but it has not aged well. Looks like Alex James wanted as little to do with the production as possible!

Interesting to think that in light of recent confessions, at least 2 of the members (James and Rowntree) were probably snorting cocaine between each take. Can only assume Albarn and Coxon were as well, or at least were tolerant of it. Or maybe Coxon just liked to drink? His alcohol intake was legendary.

It's all a bit sad in retrospect!

  • The Beach.

  • is this video taking the piss?

  • the minute i saw this i said "jamiroquai?"

    then i scroll down

    everyone else is like "jamiroquai?"

    lmao

  • @S14 you never heard of Blur before? Jamiroquai is the white Stevie Wonder.

  • i was thinking that too...

  • st. graham!

the best on blur in live

  • For the record i hate Jamiroquai. the man is a talentess imbecile

  • Damon's doing a Jamiroquai act

  • kkkkkk

  • pre gorillaz brilliance. love it

  • pre cartoons? live up.

  • what a gorgeous video! the guys all look so young, and hip. I have always loved this song but never saw the video. good work.

  • Great underestimate song! I love it!

  • Damon, that hat is banging lol/

  • When he says "we'll all be the same in the end," does that mean dead? ...As in we all enter the world the same way and we all die?

  • Oh the 90's, I want you back.

  • @camo2010 dont we all

  • @camo2010 we need... a time machine!

  • proper 90's tune...beastin

  • He is a creative singer-songwriter.

  • Tuneage! Damon Is God! :D

  • he seems like an rapper jamiroquaii xD he alwaysss surprises meee!!!

  • This song could have been an an anthem for all time... not since T-Rex have my lame-oid fellow Yanks failed so dismally to pay attention to what was happening"over there" Instead song#2 becomes part of jockrock w/ rock and roll #2 25 years earlier... hmmmmmmmm

  • haha in their ghetto years :o)

  • magnum p.i. remote control helicopter? t.c.

  • no damon can do everything he wants ! that's why blur are so different everytime, they never look or suond the same in each song...big band!

  • @sroofcika agreed...its funny to think that this is the same band that did Tender just one album lata, shows how good they are.

  • @sroofcika - I agree! This is one of great Blur songs on their 5th album "Blur" which was acclaimed by a critic and surprised us by their changing music style to US alternative (in a good way).

Their songs cannot be just a simple rock songs. Blur are great melody makers and best band in UK after the Beatles. They reunited! Next, I hope they will make a new album someday.

  • @sroofcika ha ha ha you fkn joker !!!!!!!!!!!

  • shit video, but great song!

first ever band i went to see live was blur

  • whats the little thing dave is using?

  • It's a Roland 606 drum machine.

  • I am a huge fan (I saw them twice this summer), but I always have thought- and always will think- that this video is shit.

  • not sure if its shit, just very very very 90s, which could be seen as lovely from a nostalgic point of view

  • This and M.o.r are nothing like the rest of the stuff of that album. I really don't understand why they were singles.

  • nothing on that album is like a rest!!! every song is different the others... btw saw the video for the 1st time and it's pure fun

  • Well I bought this single and it was well worth it for popscence live in John Peels' garden. I'm not going to say you're wrong about blur not being a homogeneous album (except for OYO and MOR). You are wrong but I'm not going to say it.

  • i see what ya mean not exactly there greatest work. the only track of blur i don't really 'like' is music is my radar but show me a band who hasn't released a bad track

  • the beatles havnt

  • well thats your opinion and im not going to argue just say that if i really thought about it then i think i could find one

  • Hello? Full Beatles for sale album, anyone? At least they were honest and called that album what it was... I have been a huge fan of the Beatles all my life, and I still think they are the best, and have the maximum number of hits and minimum number of bad tracks... But even geniuses have a bad day.

  • I have to say this is one of the best Blur musical introductions. It makes me smile when I hear those opening chords :D

  • this was never my favourite blur song :( and agree don't like this damon..

  • lol, the shots of Damon look like Eminem with a white plant pot on his head...? Probably intentional?

  • So take me home, dont leave me alone, Im not that good, but Im not that bad. great song :). they bright my day up XD

  • lame only in visual, but all the more tantalizing- fuckin luv it

  • I like It

  • shut up fuckwit

  • your a cock

  • bkm la kago

  • Anybody know where I can find the remix to this song? It's on the movie The Beach but not on the soundtrack.

  • yeah i had it but this version is alot better man!

  • What's that thing he's playing at 1:51?

  • A Roland TR-606 Drum Machine...

  • greatest song ever!!!!

  • did Damon take dance lessons from Fred (the tit) Durst? lol great piss take vid great song laters!x

  • 4:34- ur mum

  • 2:39 - it`s Marilyn Manson, isn`t it

  • In my opinion Damon is here trying to do a bit like Jay Kay of Jamiroquai. The hat and the arms and the dancing... Reminds me of many Jamiroquai vids.

  • are u takiking the pisssss?

  • No, I'm not "takiking the pisssss", I stated my honest opinion of this vid: Damon seems to act here a bit like Jamiroquai's Jay Kay. Apparently you disagree, that's fine.

  • i no mate. blur takin the piss. jameraqui always has expensive cars, hellicopters and other posh stuff in his videos. im gonna asume that ur winding me up coz its pretty blatant lol :-)

  • I wasn't referring to the props, such as helicopters and cars. All I meant, the way Damon Albarn Dances and moves in this video, resembles somewhat Jay Kays way of dancing and moving in Jamiroquai videos. Especially when Damon is wearing a funny hat here, and Jay Kay is the master of hats. But it's really not that big of a deal, so please just ignore this, cos you obviously have no idea what I'm talking about.

  • what jab?

  • love the jab at the d'You know what I mean video from oasis. love damon.

  • I think Oasis is by far the more talented group. But I'm just a dumb American, what do i know about Brit music

  • so true......those gallagher brothers are complete twats!

  • No, I think blur is the more talented group

  • graham coxon, he is 8 times better than any1 in oasis or blur

  • I wouldn't say that, but he's very talented. One of my absolute favorite guitarists.

  • "Ceci n'est pas une cigarette" well read, alex! -wow! :p

  • damon is the best

  • 2 - D

  • this makes me happy :D you have to like them!

  • hah, i remember those hats

  • Damon's breakdancing is full of failure. just saying. it makes me laugh

  • Actually, this video was made in part to criticize all those nu-metal, hip hop and rap bands like, as the matter of fact, Jamiroquai or Limp Bizkit. I like the video, fuck Fred Durst!

  • Actually, not exactly. Limp Bizkit was nowhere near close to formidable enough to be even heard in the UK when this video came out.

The hat though was probably definitely a jab at Jamiroquoai.

  • too BAD?!

  • Maybe one of the Gallagher brothers sported a look like this at one time. lol...Would explain Damon spoofing it then.

  • Maybe he was being sincere with this though...I mean, he did name his daughter after Missy Elliott.

  • What does that have to do with my comment of Gorillaz o_o?

  • Damon rocks- Blur forever

  • Okay, i have to say. That drum machine he's using... that's not how u use it. Great song, great vid, but idk what he was thinking when he started smacking that TR 606 around. lol

  • wow it is Damon Albarn!!! ;)

  • no. He looks like Damon Albarn :P

  • he looks like jameroqui....
