The SS is a cool car, but sorry...its not that fast mostly because its power to weight ratio and you simply can't beat a 5.0 Liter Engine pushing over 400 HP all motor.
There is a reason the camaro has been out of the running and the mustangs are much better and more popular then most realise.
Congrats on the camaro for coming back, but only a few years later...Ford made a 26k mustang that beats it, a BASE model GT. Good luck beating anything higher then that too.

The growing opinion seems to be that they are underrated at 412hp, a lot of them are making that at the wheels with just an intake/tune. Even a tuned 3v 4.6 could still hang with the new Camaros. But whatever, they're all cool cars, you just need to calm down and accept your SS isn't the ultimate car.

Ford will always be better. If a car from dodge or chevy came out with more horsepower, im sure they would find a way to beat it. Just like the 2011 powerstroke. the duramax came out with more horsepower than the powerstroke, so ford did a recall and people who bought new fords could take their powerstroke in and they would put a better chip in for added horsepower. Ford will always be more reliable, faster, and cooler than anything else.

@Jaylovescars Why wouldn't it happen? The GT500 has 510 lb/ft of torque while the ZL1 is guaranteed to have at least 550 lb/ft of torque and 550 horsepower. It can always be underrated. The only problem is that it will not have forged pistons and rods which should be in a supercharged engine. They're being cheap on this.

I have a 99 mustang gt and i know for a fact i couldnt keep up with a z28 unless the guy couldnt drive. Bigger engines always beat out our smaller ones untill the 5.0 came out. Personally i like the look and sound of the mustang thats why i got it, dislike the camaros looks.
@guitarpro48 I've got an 04 GT, it's a great car I love it but stock vs stock my 2000 z28 camaro would have eaten it alive(but it wasn't stock) I was running about 330 rwhp in it and mustangs were my food. Hell I kept up with a stock 2010 SS and he was in awe lol. After I mod my stang a little more I'll be able to keep up with stock ls1's at the very least. There's such a thing as being loyal to your car, but that's just blissful ignorance pal.

Ford will always be better. If a car from dodge or chevy came out with more horsepower, im sure they would find a way to beat it. Just like the 2011 powerstroke. the duramax came out with more horsepower than the powerstroke, so ford did a recall and people who bought new fords could take their powerstroke in and they would put a better chip in for added horsepower. Ford will always be more reliable, faster, and cooler than anything else.

Respond to this video... Now that I posted my opinion, ill state this, both cars are nice, but the days of the all out ponycar wars were done in the 60s, and 70s. Id love to see the resurgence of those days in our time, but im sure it wont happen, I would like to see the Camaro come into its own again and have more performance options, as I would like to see the same with the Mustang. But im rambling, anyway, both cars are nice and I cant complain about either

@Jaylovescars Why wouldn't it happen? The GT500 has 510 lb/ft of torque while the ZL1 is guaranteed to have at least 550 lb/ft of torque and 550 horsepower. It can always be underrated. The only problem is that it will not have forged pistons and rods which should be in a supercharged engine. They're being cheap on this.

@guitarpro48 um i dont want to break it to you but the camaro's for up untill the 2011 have been faster then mustangs for as long as i can remember minus the years the didnt make them and the terminators came out. I have a 99 mustang gt and i know for a fact i couldnt keep up with a z28 unless the guy couldnt drive. Bigger engines always beat out our smaller ones untill the 5.0 came out. Personally i like the look and sound of the mustang thats why i got it, dislike the camaros looks.

@guitarpro48 I've got an 04 GT, it's a great car I love it but stock vs stock my 2000 z28 camaro would have eaten it alive(but it wasn't stock) I was running about 330 rwhp in it and mustangs were my food. Hell I kept up with a stock 2010 SS and he was in awe lol. After I mod my stang a little more I'll be able to keep up with stock ls1's at the very least. There's such a thing as being loyal to your car, but that's just blissful ignorance pal.
