Gene, do you remember me? I was on your show in the sixties and did commercials for local Philadelphia stations. Also, I did Sally Starr and Kiddie city commercials...so good to walk down memory lane with Gene London! What a treat! God Bless!
Gene London was my favorite show on Saturday mornings! I loved, loved, loved and wanted "The Golden Fleece". When Gene would remove this from the wooden chest I soooo believed in it!!!! Loved Quigley Mansion also!!
Here is a question: I remember one show in which he drew a picture of a mansion atop a hill...........I later found out it was called quigley mansion.........there was some ominous sounding background music playing while he drew the picture..........can anyone possibly tell me the name of the music??
I loved Gene london, remember my mom brought me to his show and he drew a picture of me, then went on to see Pixanne, think they were both in the same building.I was young..but loved him, Captain Kangaroo and Sally Starr! ooh what a childhood!
I was searching "Wee Willie Webber", from WPHL (channel 17, from Philly), and found this retrospective about Gene London. Boy, was I taken back to schooldays. Hoping 'twill do the same for you, I pass it on. Enjoy.
He was a great actor and storyteller. I enjoyed his show. Now he writes for fox news telling Americans about the evil black radical muslim christian socialist president ruining america by taking away freedom, liberty, guns, and taxing us to death.
My friends and I absolutely LOVED Gene London. We would never miss his show and it would be what we talked about all morning in school. What set him apart was that he was one of us. He knew how we thought and related to that like no other "adult" could. Gene London's show was By FAR the best kids show I ever saw and we were blessed in the Philly area to have him. Gene, I hope you see this. We still love you.
I remember his show as a kid in Philly in the 70's - I was on the show one time when he made pizza... anyone have a clip of that particular episode? I would love to see it again!!!
@mbreagan: I'm glad someone else remembers that part of the show! Yes, I loved the stories and the drawings of Gene's regular show.....but then there was the part--a serial--with a haunted mansion, and a hidden spaceship with a resident evil alien (who was always interrupted in his attempts to "off" the ship's shrunken owner by Gene innocently walking in asking questions about space)...secret passages, mystery, etc. I was sad when they ended that part of the show (in the middle of a story!).
Today, were not worthy of Gene London. Mr Rodgers would never admit it, but he got everything from Gene. Thank God for him, I wonder how I would have turned out if I didn't get a 5 hour a week dose of this in my formative years. GENE!!!!!!
I remember Gene's show from growing up in Philly in the '70's. He had a series where there was a space ship and an alien intelligence. Does anyone remember that? mbreagan@pacbell.net

The General Store must have been "closed" by the time I started watching Gene London. By then I think it was called "The Gene London Show". I remember going to the show with my brownie troop and I'll never forget sitting next to Gene, watching the story on the "magic" screen, and petting the golden fleece! It was thrilling!
@nancydrew50 Hey, wait a second... I went on the show with my brownie troop, too ;) I sat near to him, too. I think my hat was on askew, so he adjusted it for me. Maybe we were on it together.
I am still in Love with Gene London. Since I was a litle girl, he mesmerized him. Wish he was back on TV>

I can remember staying home from school, "sick", to watch this show. I'll never forget the castle he made out of cardboard, that I then made at home.

I was on an episode with my class around '77. On that show, a lady was demonstrating how to make origami. Does anyone have a clip of this?

What is it with old Jewish men & messy hair ? ? ?
- All kidding aside we LOVED YOU THEN Gene, & STILL DO TODAY !
Why can't they just simply re-air your shows on Sunday mornings ?
Many new generations of children wouId benefit from it, truly...
I learned from another interview you did that you kept all the tapes from your shows, please someone out there, PLEASE re-air the shows !
