@bek2basic it's very hard to find transcriptions of improvised guitar solos unless the player in question is a superstar. but you can easily find transcriptions of george benson and pat martino , or solos in their styles written for educational purposes, vignola's style is kinda in between these two (though not as good as either, imo).

If Jimmy Smith fully elected - and I mean completely, he was so talented - I would say that the heir apparent would likely, would have to be Joey DeF.First grooved on JdF's work when I lived in NJ,and his stuff and Jimmy's have been with me in all my travels and work.Guitarist here riffs starting at 1:45 thru 2:10 are SO much like Wes,in fact hell this whole set coulda been late Riverside with JOS and JdF.
