  • What fun! Thanks for uploading.

  • If Joey doesn't lose some weight he won't be playin' much longer. he'll develop heart problems, his knees, hips & other joints cannot take it. Diabetic disorders, breathing problems & the list goes on & on. Just about every old man I know is short, skinny, & bald. So, Joey if you read this get some help brother. No disrespect meant........

  • I've lost control of my bowels.

  • I just can't take this - the bassline, the groove, Joey's solo. This music is TOO good.

My ears feel unworthy of hearing this.

  • JOEY DEFRANCESCO ATE CHUCK NORRIS!!!!

  • he is rather on the porky side

  • @ben2nd How observant of you XD

  • @ben2nd cause hes likely ALWAYS sitting down in front of that organ

  • all that while keeping the bassline fresh

  • slap a fuzzface up on that honkin' guitar, fly me to mars!

  • "Det SWINGER"

    Fra Fyn

  • does anyone have something that will help me learn the guitar solo? a youtube link?

  • @bek2basic What about your ears..

  • @goreri i'm not capable of doing that,... if i would i wouldn't have asked it you retard...

  • @bek2basic Oh well, I guess that makes you the retard.

  • @goreri well maybe i am... again more reasons for me to ask for a youtube link...

  • @bek2basic well I don't think there is a reason for the negativity. I just want to encourage you to try and listen to what is being played, and see if you can can get some of what he is playing.

  • @goreri i tried and i found out some pieces but not everything...

  • @bek2basic it's very hard to find transcriptions of improvised guitar solos unless the player in question is a superstar. but you can easily find transcriptions of george benson and pat martino , or solos in their styles written for educational purposes, vignola's style is kinda in between these two (though not as good as either, imo).

  • @nurikara allright thx for saying

  • awesome

  • it rox but i kept expecting double-time and it didn't come :(

  • 4:28 - Perfect!!!

  • AMAZING!!! SWEET!!!

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! great magic !!

  • anyone ever noticed how organ and orgasm look very similar. coincidence?

  • Now that's some sweet shit!

  • The cheeky expression that Frank has on his face at about 4:45 is killin' me right now. Deadly organ solo on this one too there Joey D. (Since he's reading this apparently)

  • i love his voicing for this ... and he becomes one with his instrument. i feel this from top to bottom. GRAVY:)

  • AMazing! Inspiration to my own music making, no doubt!

  • Oh Joey.... He just makes the organ sing for him ... Amazing

  • Excellent! I love this song! Sounds great! Thanks.

  • Ufff!!!

  • If Jimmy Smith fully elected - and I mean completely, he was so talented - I would say that the heir apparent would likely, would have to be Joey DeF.First grooved on JdF's work when I lived in NJ,and his stuff and Jimmy's have been with me in all my travels and work.Guitarist here riffs starting at 1:45 thru 2:10 are SO much like Wes,in fact hell this whole set coulda been late Riverside with JOS and JdF. This one is So Well Done - the Hammond plays thru repertoire so WELL! Wow. ♦♣♠

  • I shit on the putos who gave this thumbs down. Joey and Papa both kick ass!

  • ... si usara sombrero, me lo quito ante ellos...

  • We had this played at our wedding. Cracking tune.

  • Joey is one of my FAVORITE musicians!!! I catch him every time he plays Chicago's The Jazz Showcase. AMAZING and such an exciting player!!! Thanks for posting this marvelous artist!

  • @HammondB200 Thanks for the upload man, really good version

  • My buddy sent me this video and said he wishes he would be able to see my face when I watched it.

Now I really wish he'd been able to. I don't think any video of any musician on youtube has ever made me flip out this hard. I was practically in tears.

  • Does anyone know what 3sat is? They produce loads of great videos...

  • a German broadcasting company

  • The organ is the most underused instrument in jazz/smooth jazz. Thank-God for people like Joey!

  • If you like to see Joey performing with the Banda Brothers, watch the movie Moonlight Seranade, lots of good music in the movie.

  • But what happened at 4:34?

  • That was Joey's hand doing a glissando with his whole hand/wrist on the lower manual.

  • Oh kool! That's awesome!

  • super, een fijne improvisat[e

  • at 5:45, he really looks like Kevin Smith

  • Time went out the window.

  • Is this still Joey's regular trio?

  • Great!!!

and the guitar is not from under the water!! Hey jazz guitar players! check this video - the guitar has also treble sound!

  • Damn, man. This is some of the best shit I've ever seen....

As good as it gets, this is what it's all about.

  • 5:44 this is the face that means.. well i did it really good!! hahahaha orgasm face =)

  • What time's the flight Joey!! I'm in!!

  • Can anyone please make a definite ID on that guitar playing besides THE MAN?

    Thanks.

  • I don't get you

  • Frank Vignola on Guitar

  • Joey and the whole group are already legends!

  • Who makes the premier hollowbody jazz boxes today? That's a beautiful guitar.

  • this cat gives his props on the b-3 to jimmie smith, charles earland, mcgruiff,et al---keep on keepin on

  • Yes, but his playing is much his than anyone elses'

  • Fly me to the moon.... When is the next flight scheduled? It may be one little step for man, but it certainly is a giant leap for mankind, this mean and dirty swing! Beautiful!

  • and for those of you who think that the guitar solo sucks, you're dead wrong. Just because he isn't doing crazy technical stuff you people that don't understand jazz think that he sucks, but theres a thing called playing melodically.. I thought his solo was amazing.

  • I could not agree more. Frank's playing is so minimalistic and beautiful. Plenty of space and just groovin' ala Tiny Grimes. I wish more people understood that aesthetic. Music after all is the art of manipulating silence.

  • God this is sick..

  • Tja, dan is zo'n contrabassist toch echt overbodig... Geweldig!

  • I liked that very much thanks for the posting smooth to sooth YEA nice flavor

  • If he doesn't loose some weight soon, we'll loose another great before his time!!!!!

  • I don't know, man... Papa John's still around, and just fine, it seems...

  • What is the chords to the ending at 5:25-5:35? It's absolutely wonderful.

  • Ok then, this is awesome.

  • Too muckin fush!!

  • Vignola's interpretation of this song is very unique & impressing. He's just great.

  • veramente notevole, meraviglioso

  • balalaika solo from frank vignola lol!

  • LOL @ 4:39

Frank Vignola is digging the groove and misses the breaking down from 1 chord strike! Look at his face!!! LOL

He reacted instantly though. I'd love to see this kind of listening in jam sessoins.
