  • Isn't this from the piano concerto No 1 in D Minor? Why does he call it a fugue?

  • @Pianofy Because this song is in the style of a fugue, as in different parts 'chase' each other! If you listen closely you will here other trumpets chasing James!

  • Yes - it looks like a piccolo trumpet but doesn`t sound like it. Mr.Morrison should stick to jazz.....funny try....

  • @MrTrompetissimo Sounds like a piccolo to me lol

  • baroque, classic trumpeter joke!!!

  • Супер!!!

  • wow what a great peice and performance! I wish I could get a copy on DVD or higher quality audio. James is simply perfection!

  • mama mia :)

  • This is so amazing!!! His articulation is unbelievable , just impressive...

  • that's a piccolo trumpet? jesus...he just has huge tone on everything

that thing sounds like a Bb trumpet when he plays it..huge a fat sound

    morrison is fantastic

  • just brilliant

  • круто.

  • he is the best....

  • James is my hero

  • this musician is amazing, his fantastic player

  • i love this man, and the fact that his charts are free, now i dont have to attempt to get this all by ear, and give up half an hour later lol!

  • where can you find his charts?

  • James morrison charts can be found on his website, under music-> free charts. It's mostly his Scream Machine works.

  • Bach would have enjoyed this rendition.

  • I think you're right. The old boy would have "got it." Anyone who could write such elegant phrases and sire 21 kids must have been a really hip dude! This rendition is beyond kewl!

  • that close-up footage is not from the same concert!

  • es el puto amo d la trompeta. insuperable

  • A-Mazing! I love James Morrison, he plays the upper register so effortlessly. And pic playing is no picnic.

  • Piccolo trumpet isnt cheating, yes it helps to stabilize a bit in the upper register but it ruins your chops man, its hard as hell to play.

  • you have no idea what you're talking about.

  • your an idiot ... he uses the piccolo trumpet to get the "baroque" sound, that you usually don't get with the standard B flat.

  • Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew which Fugue he is playing. I can't find it under Fugue 2 so does anyone know the catalogue number for it?

    Thanks

  • He wrote it. It is from his "Scream Machine" album. You could get more info from him off his website.

  • This is why James Morrison is one of my top guys, he's so eclectic in his playing

  • A Concert with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in "Wiener Musikverein" 2006.

  • I love a bit of Morrisson, absolutely no gap between what he wishes to express and what comes out of his trumpet. Complete mastery of the instrument!

Which orchestra is that accompanying him?

  • Wow!

  • interesting sound, but I like ;)
