You do have the option of adding a security system. When you lock the doors, the headlights flash 1-2 times but does not beep.

The people saying this is useless and doing it manually is easier are missing the point. Try doing it manually when it's -30 in Chicago weather. The whole point is that you don't have to go out when it's cold as shit or otherwise inconvenient for you. You can just start the car and head down when you're ready to go to a nice warm car.

lol damn you need to catch up with the technology, its an autostart. and cars with like autostart and cars that start by you pushing a button in the car instead of turning key require you to put the clutch in on a manual car. automatic car you need to hold in the break. (Atleast that's how it is for the new Altima)

If its a Manual your going to have to get a bypass for the clutch if you want to autostart it with the remote. this means to start it, you will never have to push in the clutch in at all. I think you have to buy them separate. at least for mine it did.

Thats too much to remember, just get a viper 791xv. its what i got. All i have to do is push one button and my car starts from 1/4 mile, just incase i'm walking to my car i can have the AC or heater on. Works for both manual and auto BUT its ILLIGAL to put remote start on manual transmission beacuse people leave it in gear and the car will jump. and when your parked, to turn it off just turn the key to the off mode. check the site. directed. com click the remote

Good point. Fortunately, you cannot accidentally start-up your car while in gear with the LuxLink system. It is programmed to prevent that.

I don't think it's that hard to remember; pull your hand brake 3 times to engage the system (manual only). For the auto, you just park as normal.

In response to "drewnasty69" and "meehray". I am hoping to get a Scion tC somewhat soon myself. And about the remote. It's good to know it will work on a 5-speed too. How do you like the Scion tC? After test driving a few of them I must say I was very surprised.

The tC is a great car for its price (under 18k). You will find that the stock suspension is too soft on the corners and about 1.25" too high off the ground. After getting new springs and sway bars, I believe it rides as well as any FWD economy vehicle can.

I sit through ~2 hours of traffic Mon-Fri and still average 26.5 MPG!

The reason why he has to pull the handbrake is because it's a manual transmission. It makes you do that becasuse it wants you to take it out of gear and set the brake, so that when it starts next time it doesn't start in gear

This will work on any tC (manual or auto). The starter is programmed to work with your stock key! So basically an aftermarket alarm + remote start w/o a separate pager or key fob.
