After WW2 the CIA was set up with the help of Reinheard Ghelen, an Operation Paperclip asset and all left-wing groups that opposed the Nazis were hunted down in reprisal for Hitlers failure. That's why Permindex/CIA tried to assasinate Degaulle in '62.

My father knows a lot of WW2 history including how the industrialists/bankers of the US, Britain, France helped re-arm and profit from Nazi Germany and wanted to bring fascism here to the US. I asked him why didn't these countries ever try these men for treason and creating WW2? He said the Dutch resistance carried out some assasinations.

From evrywhere, with every kind of people, from all political tendencies. For example the (mostly communists) Parisian students manifested on Nov 8th agaisnt the firing of Jewish teachers, which led to a bigger manifestation on Nov . 11 1940 when the Nazis precised all "demonstration" was verboten ---

Tracts, clandestine newspapers etc were created; as soon as 1941 actions of armed resistance were registered and increased more and more, for example when Hitler attacked USSR. Then, any Resistance/communist action was punishable of death. In august of this year, two 20 year old blocks were shot for participating in (another...) manifestation. I am however studying the first groups of young Communists starting the armed Resistance in Paris, for example having access to Police archives (of the Brigades Spéciales and the copies of the papers the police received from the GFP!), so I know quite a bit. Just because you don't know about it doesn't mean it didn't happen. These young guys were sent into oblivion after the war,; by mid 1942 all of them were shot

@gopconservative78 -damn commentary limit - as for the Americans doing everything, that's another cliché: if they avanced so fast after the landing, it's mainly because those regions had already been freed but the Resistance or beginning to. i'm not saying it was the case everywhere, of course not, and the Americans did fight BUT they weren't the only ones, the French didn't wait for them and they aren't the spotless heroes ppl think they are. Just look at the numbers of rapes they committed...

@gopconservative78 to finish, you should know my examples were basically for the groups of young communists in Paris alone, in the first year and a half of the Occupation. As for Resistance against the deportation of the Jews, more than 75% of thz Frenc Jews survived the war. Guess why? Yeah, 'coz French people hid them, helped them, and this even if the so-called "French" state, (Vichy: Pétain, Laval, Bousquet..) was so eager to please the Nazis and very fond of discriminating laws...

They threatened to bomb every major city in Holland flat, after proving they would by flattening Rotterdam. Yes Holland fought hard, but in the end surrendered just like the French.

Well not very surprising is it? Despite what we see in the movies the Resistance movements throughout western Europe were predominantly involved in hiding people on the run from the Nazis. Not just Jews but Allied airmen and German deserters. Armed resistance was only a small part. Sabotage, espionage and hiding people - forging documents, money and especially ration cards in the winter 1944-45. No agenda. I would post the rest of the doc but Windows Movie Maker isn't working.
