  • This was the first of some really good music, regardless of the singing, which ain't that bad.

  • Funk

  • I want Bernard´s jacket he´s wearing on the cover of the LP.

  • @deutschegabbana Why, are you going roller-skating?

  • GO- DAMM-SONOFABITCH, finally someone put this up. I always saw other titles but no this one. This was the first song I heard by Benard Wright. It came out around the same time as Tom Browne's "Thighs High (Grip Your HIps and Move) and sounded similar. I hope this becomes available on Itunes. AND FUCK THESE SECURITY WORD GAMES THAT I HAVE TO FILL OUT BEFORE GETTING TO POST.

  • In 1981 I was a sophmore in h.s, JUST CHILLIN OUT to this tune....

  • @soulfulcooking You can say that again! This was my jam and it's the only song I remember Bernard Wright by. I never heard of "Who Do You Love" until LL Cool J and Shades did their songs over it. Finally got to hear it thanks to YouTube.

  • OBESE FUNK !!!!

  • dang I miss stuff like this

  • This is like a mix between 'funkin for jamaica' and 'electro-cuties'

  • @lothaire23 you hit the nail on the head. I would even go as far as "pot sharing tots" and funkin' for jamaica.

  • @ kato- comment for you!

  • @mark- you reckon Rod Temperton.was inspired by BW??

  • @melstar78 @kato76109

That can't be true - Nard was just doing his own thing in Jamaica Queen's with the musicians there - Rod Temperton formed his sound with Heatwave which is how he came to Quincy's attention; chronologically it's not possible for Nard to have influenced Rod. They're both great regardless of how they created their signature sound though!

  • smoove

  • quality

  • Yeah

  • Is it just me, but it seems like Michael Jackson may have been a fan of his. The chorus of the song "Spinnin" has similarities with MJ's "Thriller", and in this song the drum in the beginning and other pieces sounds like Billy Jean?

  • wow what memories i was in germany this was his first album

  • I remember this---and it does sound a whole, whole lot like funkin for Jamaica in the intro. Oh that music could be music again...........

  • Nice!

  • WHat a Fun Song!!! I learn to play clavinet listening to this Song! Wow 81 seems so long ago! LOL

  • This was my cut back in the day.

  • I am a1981 graduate from Flint Northern High School.,and this song helped me to graduate ,since I was out of state and had lots of friends aand family, Hallieuh,Patricia.

  • Funkão maroto, hein!

  • This song sound like funkin for Jamaica but it still is funky.

  • Still got this album! one of my favs!!

  • love this jaaaaaaaaaayaaaaammmm!!!

  • YOU ARE SO IGNORANT, YOU PROBABLY COULD NOT SPELL HALF THE WORDS YOU HAVE USED. PEOPLE LIKE YOU NEED TO BE RAN OVER, AND THROWN OFF THE PLANET SO WE CAN BREATHE FRESH AIR WITHOUT THE HATERISM. DON'T HATE CAUSE A BLACK PRESIDENT IS RUNNING THIS SHIT YOU LITTL SISSY...TAKE THAT OUT OF YOUR MOUTH AND COME AGAIN YOU LITTLE DOUCHE BAG,

  • This cut is sick beyond belief.

  • rick made this cut

  • smooth

  • One could mix this cut into Thighs High and Jamacia Funk without missing a beat

  • thanks.

I hope that the song remains among my favorites

This is the third time that I put it!!

Every 10 days the copyright fuck me!

And BW .... goes away ...(= disappears)

    Thanks again

  • @Pfunk60

fuck jewbags. fuck corporations. vote third party, cuz we're getting full-blown fascism in 50 years. oh yea, fuck obama, just like fuck bush.

  • Tru dat Dynamo001 !

  • You can really hear his connection to Tom Browne and stroking the keys in "Funkin' for Jamaica". He couldn't have been more than 18 when he put this out.

Take notes, youngins...Bernard is proof musical skills can pay the bills. His singing is a different story, lol!

  • @Dynamo001 I think he was 17 when he cut this joint...

  • Comment removed

  • @Dynamo001 If memory serves correctly he was more like 16 or 17 when he did this album because he and I are about the same age.

  • @harenchi Thanks! I really appreciate the info. I figured he was between 16-18. He had a lot of responsibility at a young age--and a lot of dough...not to mention freaky chicks to spend all that green on, lol!

  • @Dynamo001 he was 16. bad boy ain't he?

  • @Dynamo001 he was 16 in think. born 1 jan, 1963 i know. bad boy ain't he?

  • @skilletwater25 Absolutely!

  • @Dynamo001 You're right about the Tom Browne thing, plus you can maybe hear some Michael Henerson influence in there too.

  • TOO KOOL!!!! I LOVE THIS JAM!!!

  • jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

  • real funky

  • Absolute!

  • THE CUT
