  • Ill keep to my turntables... but I was looking for a portable FLAC player... anyone know the battery life on this?

  • @pondsj01 mines about 2 years old and id say its about 3-3.5 hours. its probibly more when new but i got it second hand

  • I'm a dj and how many times haven't you wanted to just keep the music going instead of pausing it or switching the song. a pitch, crossfade and two decks is all that was needed. awesome!

  • 11:40

    Pass it!

  • They should be selling this, not to "open doors to new dj's" but as for well established djs who are maybe on journeys to gigs or just chilling somewhere without any real equipment and you have some ideas in your head on a mix. Easy!

  • dude in the grey hoodie looks like a white ted williams, on coke!

  • many features, effects, but it's too small and uncomfortable to mix music...

  • uhh id rather just stick with my cdjs ahahaha

  • lol flowing from the palm of your hand!

  • good review, you really must have studied that tool .. and probably brought it to bed in order to learn it that well ... very impressive :)

  • yeah name of the song at 1:46

  • its a cool idea but honestly who the fuks buying that haha?

  • whats the name of the song that starts at 6:00 ?

  • the only thing you cant do is scratching

  • Watching a DJ at work is part of the party experience. This guy looks like he's check his phone for a text message. I f anyone showed up at a gig with this they should be smacked right back into the Mazda Miata they got out of.

  • I know if I played live with just that thing and my macbook, i would look like a loser just playing a track off of my ipod.

  • @chexmixBMX101 why would u have your macbook?

  • I feel this product is going to ruin the way DJ is now.

DJing on a reguler deck is much more fun than using only your one hand.

  • @jo3rock3r It won't. No one in their right mind will choose this over standard decks/controllers. I can see a DJ using it when he's in a siatuation where he can't setup his gear.

  • Awesome review. I think the Pacemaker is pretty dope don't get me wrong, but i love the fact that the review doesn't just tell you how great it is but also what it's lacking or trouble issues. Gives you a realistic dj perspective of the product. Nice one, mate.

  • @ Everybody, especially semiLivedj.

Did anyone notice the fact he says he plays in a band and STILL claims DJ's are limited to their equipment?? Yeah duh, of coarse! But so are band players (unless you play airguitar). The real trick is... to get as much as possible out of your limited equipment, wether ur in a band or a DJ.

And rof ur question on what producer elements in DJ sets are... Look at Paul van Dyck, especially 1st minute: /watch?v=0VcW3QFuSng

  • Got one for Christmas.... Good fun so far... Neighbours hate me.

  • I just started djing and this is on sale at my local music store for $100. i cant wait to get it

  • @Franzcabr3ra Axe music in Edmonton? Man that has to be a typo, I can't even believe that they listed it at that.

  • @Tiberiusbig nope no typo 100$ in all axe music in canada. i got mine on boxing day

  • @Franzcabr3ra dude i cant find it for less then 400 wtf !

  • have you notice that at 16:23 , dell computer actually use an apple operating system

  • @lljzgg dual boot

  • @lljzgg so what?

  • personally i dont think it will catch on for clubs, but for house partys this is great.

just my view, but i reckon it should be simplified, as a hand held device you shouldnt expect everything decks will offer, keep it simply and cheap and aim the product at house party use

    great technology though

  • friends pleae give me the name of the first video song

  • @juanpablochat massive music : find my way (kode9 remix)

  • Honestly, i'm a DJ and yes i would LOVE to own my own vinnys and stuff, but a pacemaker is alot cheaper, but it could be a start

  • have you ever seen dj kentaro or any of the dmc finalists over the years realy. To be honest you can make original music with turntables. Do you call people who cover songs music composers. The turntable out sells the guitar in the USA. I would like to see the statistics of how many people can mix music and who can compose music, it would be interesting

  • lol at 22:15 are you going to get that from apple? are you fuck. what a legend lol

  • wow..the new technology..good job guys....

  • this kills the atmosphere... would you rather someone holding an ipod jumping up and down? or a guy in a booth with huge machines bouncin around and just lookin fresh?

  • @ddogthepimp how about both?

  • HOW ARE U MEANT TO WALK AROUND THE DANCEFLOOR WHEN U NEED IT PLUGED INTO UR SPEAKERS???

  • i really wanted this pacemaker but never really looked into the hole thing i like figuring things out on my own but after watching this vid i dont think i want one anymore i got SO confused when he was explaining it all and with the P button and everything i was like huh? actual decks and mixers are a lot easier and for on the go ill stick with my ipod lol but still it was a good review and a good innervation but i dont think ill be dropping the money on this anytime soon

  • is there a difference between the 120GB version and 60Gb version (apart from the memory space) ? is there going to be another version out?

  • I beg to differ, turntablism is creating music!!

  • what is the dubstep song that starts at 1:46

  • @562CLICK its carilekebusch

  • @562CLICK emalkay - mecha

  • @562CLICK emalkay - mecha

  • @562CLICK thats massive music - find my way (kode9 remix) found on hypderdub's label, HYP006. a classic dub tune, ive been rinsing this for ages now

  • I´ve got a question , I want to start with Dj´ing and I don´t now if it is worth it to buy a pacemaker , or if it is better to buy the normal Dj equipment , turntables and stuff.

    Can somebody help me ?

  • @BboyNikRo69 it all depends what YOU are interested in using and what u can afford

  • can i take it with me and mix outside?

  • I have mine about 7 months now and I love it

  • Im a dj. but broke my ipod. would this be a good replacement? lol. I wanna mess with the tracks a little too.. lol

  • Apple can suck Tonium`s dick now...go sweden

  • the guy with the curly hair and the gray hodie

is rollin or something like that xD

  • @roycanizalez ha ha no doubt his eyeballz are HUUGE, he is fuckin thizzin fo sho!

  • shame the dj at 4:25 looks off his head buzzing on something - whilst the others look worn out!!

  • This can't be true. Nobody in youtube knows the name of the song @ 18:10 ??

  • @MikeKilo9 mate, i need this tune too, i have just replayed it about 7 times just so i can listen to the 30 second clip thats on -_- such a sick wee tune

  • @MikeKilo9 When pausing at the video at 18:10, you can see the title (I believe it's the title) over the soundwaves (: It seems like it's the first song in the playlist...AZ something.

  • Comment removed

  • this would be perfect for house parties. you always kinda miss out on the party staying by the decks, but with this i could walk around and get drinks easy. id need some wirless thind but it aint too expensive.

  • is this some made up shit....

  • Any good DJ will play on Vinyl, Cdj's are for "press play" dj's.

  • @t205gorillaz

    You're a fucking idiot.

  • @lumpykills

No, no I'm not. Because any good DJ or anybody who knows anything about mixing will tell you Vinyl is for true DJ's.

  • @t205gorillaz wrong, all the pros use cdj's now and mp3 controls, have you ever been to a club or festival of any decent size recently? Being a dj myself i was told to stay away from vinyl as it is pending on extinction. The reason is that if u can mix music by using your eyes and ears then mixing is not only easier but allows djs to mix in lots more interseting and exciting ways that can please the crowd. saying that thou vinyl's with serato scratch are equally as good too :D

  • @t205gorillaz man its all good. any half decent dj will use anything that hels create. vinyl does sound better and is easier to work with, but cdj's have pitch lock as well as +/- 100%. laptos let you take thousands of songs to a club and fit in a backack with a midi controller or 2 cdj's. i use all of them based on situation and type of music. dont hate on new tech. embrace it or get left behind.

  • @t205gorillaz

    uuuu twat

  • @t205gorillaz

Or the guy who does it for a living will tell you it's for stupid faggots.

  • A friend of mine showed me his pacemaker at a festie this weekend. I was a little worse for wear and could barely read the tiny display window!

  • my god.... they really don't know what to invent.....

  • Meh I think its pretty cool, but I think I would rather stick to Cdjs

  • what a load of shit its like playing games worse then ventral dj bollocks

    jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • OMG the pacemaker-posse?

  • its nice too know that some rediculous company didnt put this up like xone or pioneer because it would be like at least 800 by either of them for the same quialty haha.

  • Guys, stop the flame war. Listen to what the creator of Pacemaker said: "...the idea of the pacemaker is not to substitute a professional equipment.". It's just a toy. A very cool toy. A toy so cool that you could actually use it to play in a party and do an acceptable job. I think it would be great for those moments when you're in a party and someone catch you by surprise: "Hey, would you like to play a little"? And suddenly you pop out this cool device from your pocket.

  • 00:22 "Selling out"?... haha, i can see it as being fun to fuck with on the road or whatever but i will rid vinyl from my art/hobbie... it's worth da money.

  • mm i think it's a cool piece of technology but

    i still go for a pioneer:D

and i don't think a DJ has to be between his crouwd

and this is just to litle you know......

and i tjink when you drop it a few time's

    it won't work anymore =)

  • what is the sone at 18:30?

  • @Breanok oooohhh... youre right sounds niceee

  • Definetly not my style but it's a cool little device.

  • good

  • Whats the song at 18:25?

  • what the name of the intro song?????Please

  • @gustavoindustry Find My Way from Kode9

  • ok, this question might be retarded, but im thinkin abouyt buying one so im just making sure about everything. So, he says music comes out on two jacks, one to speakers and one to listen to next song from headphones. So does that mean you cant just plain use your head phones to listen to yourself mix? If its stupid, im sorry! Im new to dj-ing, so i was jw

  • the name of intro song?

  • what;s the name of first song?

  • What's the sample at 3:00?

Someone said something about a William Bell sample, but I can't find it.

  • Whats the name of the song at the start, the intro song.

  • you talk toooo much dude

  • got mine , p211 < issue number £200

211 to ever be made wooot , love it to bits

  • no shit, JezenThomas. You think?

  • that is so cool but its expensive as hell

  • I use it as back up for my setup with the MEP7000 or as 3rd player, so far doesn't needed as backup but anyway it's a very cool gadget !!

  • When he start pacemaker then which music was playing please tell me...

  • It's called dubstep.

  • Examination of time - babylon system & noah d

  • nice way to keep movin with the grovin

  • Haha nice to see Mr Karney pop up in this clip, long time no see man!

  • i just dont think a dj should think of themselves high up on the totem pole of music as a composer of music, and when they do it makes dj's look bad,and i think it effects their performance when they do,keep it simple and remember what you really do and that is a manipulator of original compositions of true artist, adding effects, rearranging arrangements speeding up,slowing down, mixing 2 songs together, does take practice but more people can do that than composing a song.

  • @semiLivedj Very well said =]

  • @NaughtADJ Thank you

  • @semiLivedj As a composer and musician, I have to say this statement here is pure bullshit, it makes it seem DJ'ing is not an integral part of the development of the very music that DJ's spin, or that DJ'ing is not an art or science. If it wasnt for Cool Herc and Bambaata and Frankie Knuckles spinning records they "didnt make" into new musical mixes, we would NOT have disco, house, techno, hip hop etc. etc. so your statement is not in sync with history.

  • @TiTaNDoLLs being a composer/musician doesnt mean you can tell what the future would have been without cool herc,ect...how about this,if herc,ect...never minuplated music and kept it in original form, music would of been a higher form of purity and wouldnt have the distraction of electronical minupulation! your statement is just disagreement with a one track mind to argue, the best composers all have open minds, like my opinion is opinion, not a statement!

  • @semiLivedj that is why i love people like deadmau5 :)

    hes both

he creates amazing music and mixes only his own songs

  • @semiLivedj ?? the best djs make there own songs and remix on the fly, the technology is creating ranks :), the best will make albums, etc. the good djs are also producers, the others will be left behind, because you are begining to be expected to make complicated remixes live along with regular mixing.

  • @buzbee1991 uh,no I'm not,I play in a band,I write music,I dj on the side for extra cash, and i have not seen anything complicated about it,dj's are limited by their equipment, because thats all it is.mixing, beat matching, throwing in samples and loops, and fuckin with highs and lows, and any beats you use are looped, nothing creative about when to start and stop an effect, just a sense of timing, and hell, you dont even have to be good at that anymore.as far as albums, promotion only!

  • @semiLivedj you have a strongly set steriotype of djs, so i wont waste my time convincing you. look up Deadmau5, he is a dj and makes all of his music and is very famous and thats one of many, also PVD paul van dyk. i personally dont even use turntables while djing, i use a xone4d ableton live(music production software made for djs also), i also have touchpads and keyboards i use while djing to play songs ive made from scratch, etc . a dj is simply someone who presents music.

  • @semiLivedj Sorry if your comment is over half a year old but if I may add: I believe DJ's are an essential (sp) tool for clubs. DJ's are the mozart of dance. When comparing DJ's in a club and a professional DJ like...Benny Benassi, the DJ in the club just plays music as an amateur but he's still a fan. I dream of being a DJ in a club and play composed music but I also want to play my own music, you know?

DJ's think too much of themselves but some of them keep it real. (:

  • @semiLivedj that shows what you know of djs and music. Most of these producers out there were or are still djs and when a dj brings an album yes it cuts from other records, but its nothing that artist are doing right know of ruining original songs and claiming it as there own when they sample cuts and artist when they produce they use the same equipment as djs to make there albums

  • @moy0181 Dont you think their is a big difference in composing a song from nothing as to already having the song to work with?Anw what I know of dj's and musicians is more than you unless you are a dj and a musician like myself.

  • @semiLivedj Thats chicken shit. I'm a DJ but im adding producer elements so i can remix live.

  • @BioGimp Chicken shit, realy!Chicken shit equals your IQ. Tell me,what is producer elements? I have to hear this! Please explain.

  • @semiLivedj Remember moron, a lot of dj's know produce and have that accomplishment under their belt besides just being able to mix songs well.

  • @rufian562 Hey goofdick, its no big acomplishment! Everybody and their brother has a studio.

  • @semiLivedj Hey idiot, everybody is trying to make music now and not just spin records. Stop hating. Seriously

  • @rufian562 Hey ass face, what comes around goes around!

  • @semiLivedj Hey anal cavity face, make fucking sense so then at least i can take offense to what you're saying.

  • @rufian562 Hey fart box breath, education failed you, maybe go get a GED and learn comprehension skills! Or maybe not,Your one of those low IQ people that will never have a life! People hate assholes, and your it! You have no real friends, they just come over and fuck your girlfriend, and you will die alone,of cancer. But dont worry, you have youtube as your friend, except nobody likes you because your an asshole.Buh bye, asshole.Hahahahahaha!Total Loooo0000ser!

  • @semiLivedj EPIC FAIL MORON.

  • @semiLivedj What if you write and compose your own electonic whatever music and dj it?

  • @semiLivedj unless of course u r a dj who does in fact compose music? uh tiesto, benni benassi, armin van burren, etc.etc. but i get what u mean

  • @semiLivedj LOL dude please think before u post something up.

  • @semiLivedj I disagree. I think DJ's are often over looked as composers or artists. I'm sure you have been to live shows and seen dj's who fail, and dj's who fucking makes the croud explode! Good dj's control the dance floor. Maybe the reason you feel they are putting themselves up on a totem pole is because I'm sure they realize how much control they have over others in the live shows. The DJ's rating this I agree have inflated selfesteeme, I don't feel most are that way.

  • @SrcDizzy Dude your spelling sucks stop acting all like intelligent and write correctly :P

  • @DJMcLANY I really hate ppl like this one. Who the fu** cares in youtube about spelling and all that shit when u understand already. =P

  • to say its for people who go more in dept to music isnt a good evaluation,to the people who want to just play music, manipulating music isnt more in dept, how can you say that people who just want to hear music the way it was created is less in dept?,manipulating music does not make you more in dept,it is what it is,manipulating, distorting, rearranging the original track,i dont think that makes it better, just different,if it were better,it would be made that way in its original form.just saying.

  • I think it's a really nice way to practice on the go. Doesn't replace the control and creativity of a full set up, but it at least gives you something when you're not at home with your setup.

  • shut up already

  • I have one of these, it's been awesome and I love it for just messing around or at parties. This will not take over decks and a mixer though, here's why:

-BPM fluctuations (not sure why, firmware maybe?)

    -Can't really multitask with it

-Easy to hit the cue button when on the wrong channel

  • i love gadgets and i think i might just get one of these realy cool and maybe even use it out in a club :)

  • It's all about what comes out, who cares really with what it got mixed. No one ever asks u hey u mixed it on that or that ... sorry ur mix sucks now. I would not go for it ..to small for me but i think it is good to see that people are trying to make more people able to mix just for themselves. I think cool tool but nothing for me =) peace

  • tracklist please??????

  • Kagurath please shut up. Are you 13?

would anybody actually recommend this thing? it seems like a poser gadget..

  • hi guys,

what did u use to make the pacemaker wireless? Normal RF or bluetooth? which one?

    Tks.

  • let's be clear - the Pacemaker is not trying to replace decks, or anything else. The main point of this device is that it is completely portable. You can DJ anywhere with it. Try sticking your laptop, or your Kaoss pad etc in your pocket and heading out to a house party. No one is saying it's better than other methods of DJing, but it opens DJing up - letting you mix anywhere, parties, BBQs, on the train, on the beach etc. That's what makes it such a cool piece of kit.

  • i think it very useful!!! Lets say if ur using xone 4d or 3d, it would be a great backup if ur laptop breaks down and u have this one on one of ur channels!

At the end of a day, it doesn't meant to be better than vinyl, cdj's or midi controllers and it wont take over anything! Its just a gadget!

  • Whats the first tune on this vid.

  • massicve music - find my way (kode9 remix), its on hyperdub

  • I saw a lot of DJs this last year. And a lot of flame wars...

Out of all the DJs I saw this year the only one who put on a pure musical show was Paul Van Dyk. I remember clearly from the balcony looking down at his setup. He has been DJing for nearly 20 years. He started on Vinyl. Hes used CDJs. Hes played with a Laptop.

Paul Van Dyk played that night last June using MIDI and Ableton Live. "Adapt or perish" - HG Wells, choose one. choose well

  • @tyraindreams Paul Van Dyk played that night last June using MIDI and Ableton Live. "Adapt or perish" - HG Wells, choose one. choose well

very true its sad to see a midi a lap top and ableton i have technics and play vinyl all day in my house i refuse to get a midi i rather die off ableton has a auto tune feature and beat match so sad no skill just buttions all who play on vinyl will live as a legend in dj heaven midi users have to stay in the american audio cdj part of the after life

  • Comment removed

  • Yet again. Your a faggot. Get used to the new.

  • right mate so when you dj you dont use computing or kaoss pads or anything that makes Djing easier and better like the pacemaker which is one of the coolest bits of djing kit around today.

  • Mate , im using kaos pad or efx 1000 , i dont need pacemaker really... ;/

  • But also , i dont need any of them , i have enough things to use with my xone 4d... Im mixing progressive / deep house , there you dont need so much effects... ;/

  • Your a faggot. Just letting you know.

  • thats nuts

  • cmon, no DJ can take this seriously, it looks and sound cool, but its just a "BIG MESS"!! so many functions under a phew buttons makes the DJ'ing process alot slower and complicated.

  • price ¿?

  • this is amazing, got it for christmas to go with my BCD3000 and macbook on tractor 3 already had a chance to use it together and it works seamlessly. can't wait to play on new year's eve. the lack of certain effects doesn't matter for my because of the effects on the bcd3000

  • God i want that :((

  • wife got me this for xmas.. simply amazing!!

  • wat a bunch of crap from a load of tossers who tink tey know it all....:)

  • Anyone know the first tune?

  • Mecha- Emalkay

  • I have enough money to only get one piece of equipment, i wish i had more money!

  • definitely looks like a fun toys, love the pitch bend effect. But yeah this seems like more of a toy than a piece of dj equipment, still I would possibly use it in a set. btw lol at vinyls...

  • that first intro track sounds dubstep like i love it

  • Stupid idea i alwayes use vinils

  • song at 9:00
