    Yes, there are some long term complications from having elevated antibodies.

    I understand why your physician is hesitant about rechecking the levels but there's so much more you can be doing to reduce them. Thyroid medication is a very important part of the program but it's important to know if what you are taking is enough. Sorry, I can't continue since I can only send so many characters

  • Hi... the special diet includes primarily two things. One is to avoid foods known to be high in iodine. The other is to avoid gluten foods. You can search 'gluten foods' online to find sites which list these foods. This avoidance of gluten must be 100% for at least 2 months to see the positive effects.

    Meaning that you have been avoiding or are you saying that for the long term to avoid iodine foods....

    Iodine needs to be avoided in the first phase of treatment and then reintroduced in the second phase...
