Is it possible to toilet train your bird? Because my bird is hand tamed and everything and I want to take him out of the house, but I don't want him pooping everywhere.
@tenderheart17 im 15 years old and i have a cockatiel i live in new york , my cockatiel is about 2 years of age i have a house about 1 hour away from my house in new york in newjersey i travel back and forth with her all the time even when you use the brakes she stays perfectly still and this bird is a cockatoo big difference i havent had one problem in the 2 years i had my bird i think when people say that it is dangerous to travel with birds there absolutely wrong i actually thinks its good
I quite like them, unfortunately my goffin's wouldn't approve of another cockatoo being in the spotlight. He hardly tolerates the conure and macaw that are in his home :P.
Cute, but not safe. If the brakes were suddenly applied, that poor little fella would be catapulted into the windscreen. Or if your pet suddenly went into a panic and started flying about, you could lose control of your car....injuring (or killing) yourself and/or passengers, or other motorists. If you love yout pet, please don' travel with them unrestrained, in the car...it's just not worth the risk,
The little galah's owner probably IS a lovely man, and would never deliberately do anything that would hurt his little buddy. (the love and trust that the galah displays is proof of that).
I am all for animals having the freedom to move around as much as they want and need to....but just not while in the car. I have a kitty who wees herself in terror when I put her in a carry-cage to take her to the vet. I feel bad...but I have to do it, for hers, mine and everyone else's safety.
@tenderheart17 Totally agree we have an african grey and he has his own little house he travels in,and he always wears a seatbelt. As you say looks cute, but the reality is it could be very dangerous.Beautiful bird anyway.
My favourite Aussie bird! We have 16 galahs that visit our local playground to pick on the dry grass seeds. I love the way they waddle when they walk. Lately we are also getting a fly over of about 100 cockatoos every evening - So noisy. The drought is bringing them into the suburbs.
i feed these wild from my kitchen window i have about 15 of them lol i also have correllas , cockatoos, lorrikeets, king parrots and rosellas. i didnt know Gary Galahs where so popular overseas .does yours hav a split personality lol . i work in a wildlife centre so ill do a parrot video for yahs.
That is so cool! I am very envious you see them all day long in the wild... what a sight! I would love to plan a trip just for that. Looking forward to your videos!
i clean there cages on thursday so ill do a cool video for yah. i hav a few bird vids up already but ill do one from my kitchen window this afternoon. ill try and get the white headed pigeons they are the size of a duck (about twice the size of normal pigeons) very shy but.

i thought it was illegal to sell Australian native birds over seas for pets !!!
bradlz69 1 year ago
@bradlz69 Of course not, otherwise there wouldn't be thousands of cockatiels and budgies and cockatoos as pets in the US alone.
What IS illegal is WILD CAUGHT birds. There is no law banning the breeding of the birds in the US.
