This coming up as a link for a Doug Stanhope search is unacceptable. However this happened, I mark it here as a failure. Google, bad job. Internet, even worse. What a shitstorm this video is. Edgy atheist teenagers rabble rabble rabble.
@GnosticHumanist Its kind of sad - but if you think about it, the Cthulhu mythos almost make the most sense since they are not truly supernatural - just alien. I say teach the mythos.
@SinnFein4ever I was refering to the main ones. You know, that blaintently lie to its followers. Christianity and Islam. I was also refering to American schools.
Since I'm out of school now, when I have kids, and if they STILL have that bit in the pledge, I will make sure they list off ALL the gods people believe in, exactly like this. LOL That, or they could change it every day to another one. In any case, it'd make a good point.
@Deanbass77 It caught me off guard. I knew they'd be happy at Cthulu, Bob and FSM, and I knew FSM would be the capper, but I had no idea they'd go that ape-shit. It was fun.
Right, but you have to remember to politicians and the right wing, "religion" means "Christianity". Islam and Hinduism and all the other religions in the world aren't "religion".
@puellanivis Well, depends on the context. I have heard christians many times say Christianity isn't a religion, it is a relationship with Jesus. I always scratch my head why that is a distinction, but it is usually used in an attempt to make it seem unique to other religions.
@unclexbob well, I suppose that's the kind of point that I'm trying to make. Christians view Christianity as special, and exceptional amongst the other religions. They really only complain when Christianity is the religion being stifled, and are actually some of the first to lead against the stifling of Islamic religion. So, when they talk about the "War on religion" they're talking only about Christianity, but using "religion" gets ALL religious people involved in their fight to spread Xtianity
Every morning, when the Pledge is recited over our public high school intercom, I ALWAYS exchange 'FSM' for 'God'. Nobody has noticed yet. I consider this a prayer in a public school and feel it is illegal. Also, whenever our faculty has a meal together, you guessed it, an administator leads us with 'Grace' beforehand. Fuckers!
@saxmanchiro I totally agree and I exchange "Under God"for "Under the sky," "Indivisible" for "Borderline Civil war" and "liberty and justice for all" for "liberty and justice for some." No one has noticed yet.
Exactly Keith, forget arguing with them just argue for them but take it further... it's way funnier at the very least!
Ever listen to that bit by Doug Stanhope where he calls the number on the back of an anti-abortion pamphlet that contains a photo of a dead fetus? It's hilarious because he argues from a more religious position and accuses the man of peddling the worst form of child pornography, it's too perfect.

Personally I prefer the Hindu version of "creation"; apparantly a giant inter-galactic space-turtle created the earth.
That is EXACTLY what should be taught in science class.

What about Gumby ??
MrJohnnyrace 2 months ago
@MrJohnnyrace
Gumby is not a diety.

@SinnFein4ever Are any of them ??
MrJohnnyrace 2 months ago
@MrJohnnyrace
(sighs)
ALL of them are.
They're from different religions from all over the world.
For example, Vishnu is a diety from Hinduism (which is an Indian religion)
Good grief, you're woefully ignorant.
You must have gone to a public school.

It really made my (metaphorical) heart soar when everyone went crazy at the mention of our noodly lord.

This reminds me of when Edward Current uploaded a video saying since he's converted to all religions he won't have much time to make videos.
