@benny8432 *Spoiler Alert* No, They both did the eact same things and said the same things when they went insane, but it was for different reasons. Mion killed Satoko in revenge to Shion standing in her way of absolute power. The town leader and Onibaba were also in her way, then she tried to kill Rika because she knew what she was doing. Shion also did everything in a different world but it was for Satoshi, not her position in the family. Make sense?

@TheFoilGuy I watched the anime and am just starting the SN and Meakashi-hen is the answer ark for Watanagashi-hen and the answer arc shows the same arc from another characters perspective which proves shion is the killer, or we could go by the 'Sonozaki Sisters Theory' which is mentioned in the All-Cast review session for watanagashi-hen which is that both sisters are responsible and commited the crimes taking turns killing people

@greatjake11 Well then there's major confusion there on the fear and distress of both Shion losing her only tie to Satoshi when Mion killed Satoko to get back at her before killing her. Or as noted in the second scenario where Shion is clearly noted for killing Satoko in Retribution for Satoshi clearly shows both oppertunities for both sisters to commit the crime, but only one could kill Satoko if you think they did what they did when they were children, which was switching places commonly.
