  • so much ego going around here.

  • I see in the actual scene the camera panned back to the other guy as he was explaining about the definition of a dwarf.

  • This must subliminally be where Gervais got the idea for Life Is Too Short.

  • im american and the uk version is so much better, but for someone whos an atheist he sure does say god alot

  • Stop arguing over which version is better, it's stupid. They're both very different shows - The Office (US) is a completely different type of show; the only thing the same is the title and the whole 'mockumentry' style of things. Ricky jokes about the American one and stuff but he's the one who makes it and he's even said himself he's proud of the way that the US version turned out. They're two completely different shows it's like comparing The Office to Emmerdale. It's ridiculous.

  • I enjoy both for different reasons.

  • Oh! Anglosphere...

  • Absolutely ridiculous top comments. Pathetic, generalised opinions not worth a donkey's doo doo. Who the fuck is thumbing those up? Both versions of the Office are landmarks achievements.

  • Why do people generalise so much? I'm sure some Americans would fine this funny and some wouldn't. Stereotyping is just stupid.

  • both versions are good, lets just leave it at that

  • @mdowning i can't really take you seriously seeing as you are missing the 'u' in humour but for the sake of the other, more tolerant american people who i do not want to insult, i'll ignore it.

Yes obviously i can see the 'fag' 'cigeratte' joke, but as you have just proved there you're version of american comedy is too 'obvious'. Was a tempted to make fun of the fact that you call fucking bum bags 'fanny packs'? Yes. But i respect americans to much for that.

<3 you americans and ricky. not u.

  • @mdowning

The fact that you call a cultures humor stupid, when humor is obviously subjective, ehos how much of a dumbass you are.

Cultural ignorance and arrogance emits from your comment, people like you are the reason why im ashamed to be American. As for the show, both versions are great but different.

  • <3 Rickey Gervais!!

  • americans have got a great sense of humour...that black president stunt was hilarious !!

  • midgets are capable of shaving facial hair, the course beard of a dwarf hinders any practical means of shaving. Furthermore midgets lack the +3 hammer ability and frost resistance that dwarfs have.

  • @CircleofModerators thats terrible lol

  • both shows are great. period.

  • Just to piss you off: the uk version is so much funnier. I mean, the us version is sooo horribly bad. It really is.

  • @PFplusW agreed

  • a dwarf.....cue smile

  • SHUT UP FUCKS SAKE.

    AMERICANS DON'T GET BRITISH HUMOUR.

THATS WHY EVERYONE THINKS ITS BETTER COS BELIEVE IT OR NOT THERES MORE PEOPLE IN AMERICA.

    ricky made them both. ENGLISH.

  • @irealllllllllydontca Dude, I'm Canadian and I understand both British and American humour... it's not like a different language or anything ;) I know that the British think that American humour is too slapstick or too one-dimensional, but let's not hate. Each version of the Office is very funny in its own way. You've gotta admit that much.

  • @alextoob1 I have great respect for you Canadians. Neither British nor American. Fantastic!

  • @irealllllllllydontca im american i love the uk office and seasons 1-3 of the american office

  • ricky gervais got the idea for the office from "operation good guys" very like the office but based in a police station.... ricky wrote 2 series and 2 specials untill he said he had wrote enough... so then the americans bought it off him. And they have completely changed it. in my opinion the uk one was the best. Simply because it was clever, and it was the sort of humour i like... british humour and american humour is different. and we will always have this argument. simply because of ignorance

  • @CMROfficial Rick & Steve*

  • Steve also helps Write episodes from the american office... And steve and ricky are like ying and yang. so you do know a lot of american office ideas are founded by the uk office writers...

  • Dumb argument. They are both good. If you prefer one version over another, fine. But stop bitching.

  • I think he looks like the guy who gets killed in the movie v for vendetta but only shorter and gay?

  • @bhensley80 you might as well just of said he looks like that jewish guy who got killed by hitler......

  • @CMROfficial Ah,it's all about goofing anyway.

  • its funnier when people who have an awesome accent cuss :P:P:P

  • people! for the love of mike stop it!! seriously! if ur from the us, great then watch us version, if not, uk version shut up and leave this kind of pointless arguing to your facebook walls

  • The UK version of "The Office" is so much better, the American one sucks Donkey Balls..

    <--According to This Yank

  • @BrandonDerive1985 thats why it only lasted 14 episodes and was cancelled in britian..the land of no entertainment lol

great argument, lets debate the figures next haha

  • @KCArmstrongXIIV lol. And America is sorry that we send a certain starting with the letter J over to you guys. Our Bad,Sorry

  • @BrandonDerive1985 "send a certain starting with the letter j"

    ..what?

  • @KCArmstrongXIIV short name: J.S.

uttering the full name of the show brings a curse that causes one's ears to bleed

  • @KCArmstrongXIIV The UK version wasn't cancelled, a quick look on Wikipedia would tell you that. You really don't help the American stereotype do you?

    Great argument, now fuck off.

  • @2601andrew yeh they just decided to "end the show" 2 seasons in, due to its amazingly successful ratings share lol...

    get into show business

    : )

  • @KCArmstrongXIIV Read previous comment.

  • @2601andrew sry bro, i made you look like a fool

    : )

  • @KCArmstrongXIIV We've clearly taken two vastly different conclusions from this debate then.

  • @2601andrew sry bro, made you look like a fool ..again

    : )

  • @KCArmstrongXIIV Read previous comment.

  • @2601andrew sry bro, third times a charm

    : )

  • @KCArmstrongXIIV I'm sorry, you're obviously an amazingly successful producer who knows everything.

You are wrong though in this case, The Office wasn't cancelled; you see, unlike greedy American producers Gervais and Merchant wanted to stop The Office while it was in its prime and have it remembered as an all time classic - whereas the Americans are quite happy to squeeze every last penny out of it until it is finally cancelled, The Office and Two And a Half Men prove testament to that.

  • @KCArmstrongXIIV You can't spell...

    P.S: Read previous comment.

  • shut the fuck up ... seriously guys you are acting like idiots arguing over 2 completly different showss althogh with te same concept in its own right they are different and don't forget that there are german and french versions of the show

  • Its gone from the office, to which people left the Uk for the Us? wow...ur all fags

  • uk kids are just jealous because america did it better. It's sad that people are so jealous over a land

  • @SadisticReviews You do realize the English took over America? Stupid fuckin' yank,. Trying to individualize yourself by using other nation's and country's traditions and systems. Silly Yanks.

  • @merlylvsm The English took over America - Which you are today*

  • @merlylvsm umm that makes you the stupid one. You're jealous because the American version is better, so you're an idiot for not giving yourself credit. Are you mad because the smart ones left your country and all the dumb ones stayed back? At least you're where you belong :)

  • If anyone from the UK had the sense to watch a substantial amount of the US Office before commenting on it they would realise that it's actually equally, if not more funny for the average viewer. No one can really doubt the abilities of Steve Carrell. I'm English and I'm bored of people moaning on about how our comedies are great because they are subtle... It's simple really, comedies are good if you laugh, and I see too many people slating the US Office without even watching it.

  • NOBODY TOSSES A DWARF!!!

  • Try this with Transcribe Audio ON

  • trollolol.

  • my favourite outtake ever

  • Laughing out of place during a take with another actor/other actors seems like one of the funniest and enjoyable things ever, but laughing out of place on your own during a take the most embarrassing.

  • @mikepannellgraber even commenting on videos on my page now lmao, deffo a immature 10 year old..leave it there kid, your makeing a retard out of yourself....actually you might be a little retarted, not sure

  • @LJayMusic18 You calling somebody else "retarted" makes you look like a complete and utter fucking idiot. It's spelled "retarded" as you should know by now.

  • @danfrost313 calm down now spell check, its called a mistake......as you should know by now

  • @mikepannellgraber wow just wow :|..as i can see you said "mom" your oviously american...and by cracking "mom" jokes and haveing comebacks like that you about 10 maybe 11 years old....please im not a child im not going to argue over youtube, goodbye you immature specimine

  • @mikepannellgraber a mother joke really?...wow.

  • @mikepannellgraber why are you talking about your genitals to me?...thanks for the input buh keep that to yourself, thanks

  • UK office clips: america sucks america sucks!

US office clips: this show is funny

  • Can people shut up about whether the US or UK is better... who cares? They are completely different shows. The Office (UK) was 14 episodes, hilarious and awkward to watch for many and the US version is over 150 episodes and is (I believe) also funny but admittedly easier to digest.

  • @8nikolas8 But Ricky and Stephan Merchant wrote both shows XD the US is changed slightly as they like long series and easy to watch ..things

  • @Trussy1000 They didn't write both shows actually... big difference between creating/producing a show and writing it. I think Ricky and Merchant have only written or co-written 2 or 3 episodes of the US version. Anyway, nothing you said refutes what I said... they still remain completely different shows with different casts, writers, storylines, humour type, etc. The only thing they really have in common is that they are set in an office, and the main character is the whacky boss.

  • @8nikolas8 Well that's not entirely true, the main core of characters have the same personalities, although the US Office allows more evolution of characters because it has run for more episodes. The US Office started off as a carbon copy of the UK series, which is why the first series of the US version isn't so great, it really becomes successful when it advances past what happened in the UK series, and characters are free to evolve.

The pair actually co-wrote many many episodes, not just 2/3.

  • @boltonmassiv The main core of characters have the same personalities? I strongly disagree. Maybe Jim and Pam are similar to their UK 'equivalents' in a few respects, but still, on the whole, they greatly differ. Also, you acknowledge my view that they are completely different shows by saying it "advances past what happened in the UK series". And no, they only co-wrote 2 episodes... have a look for yourself. I don't know how you suppose they would have time to co-write 'many many episodes'

  • @8nikolas8

it makes me laugh when people think Gervais is mad about US Office, they dont seem to know he's an exec producer on it.

On twitter "you mad the US office is funnier than yours?" Gervais "Yes. but syndication cheques ease my pain"

  • @RDprodx Precisely, and a great quote. It's equally funny that viewers are mad because they somehow think that, in making The Office US, Ricky's genius is being compromised when he is, in fact, one of the main men behind the US version. Indeed, there's no one to blame for making the show you hate but those who made the show you love.

  • @8nikolas8 Yea and UK is perfect, but 1/2 of the US version is garbage.

  • Mcsocrates is retarded. The UK one came first. Plus, it's much better.

  • @stfupDonny It's Mr Mcsocrates to you motherfucker. The Brits made a totally gay remake of the office.

  • @mcsocrates Keep trollin trolling trollin, keep trollin trolling trollin.

Either that or you are havin a laff , or you don't know how to use google :s which is worrying >.>

    lol

    PEACE.

  • @LogicalStatements1 What's google?

  • The Brits suck when they copy American shows

  • @mcsocrates i take it your joking? the ORIGINAL one in england was made in 2001 ....your shite yank one copied this one .

  • @bensimps123 it only took the idea that it takes place in the office , some of the charachter personalities, and its a comedy

  • Comment removed

  • @Nconte1944 it was ment to have a depressing feel about it to be REAL like a real office job that is abit dull all you yanks have done is make a unrealistic show unlike the original ..american one is crap and your too far up your own arse u cant see the original office was made to be like that

  • @bensimps123 i dont like that feel of dull depressingness..and yes you idiot are show is fucking hilarious..unrealistic?did you seriously just say unrealistic?seriously..its a fucking tv show you cunt..what the hell does it matter..oviously noone can goof off and do the shit they do in either show..your so fucking dumb...and look how long your show lasted..like 14 episodes..are show is 150 episodes and has one so many awards..the millions of fans of are show dont need you butthurt british cunts.

  • @Nconte1944 You're a Yank, so obviously you don't appreciate or fully understand the subtlety of the original, so stick to watching the shitty American version. I'm suprised you're defending it anyway, you should be insulted that they had to dumb down a show for you to understand it.

  • @bennyboyjones I am American and I love the UK version, in fact I love many British comedy shows. But the American version is not "shitty" by any means, it is hilarious in its own right. The UK version has dynamite performances by its main characters and amazing writing (dialogue and situations) that make it awesome. The US version also has great main characters, but it makes up in its rather repetitive writing by its strong supporting characters. They are both good in different ways.

  • @bensimps123 unrealistic..yeah im done talking to you..hahaha

  • Comment removed

  • @bensimps123 It may have gotten the idea from this, but who cares? It was a good show and people wanted more so they made The Office (US). And it's not shit, lmao, guarantee you laugh at every episode but you're too caught up in the politics and being an asshole to admit it.

  • he is soo HIGH!

  • Dude there's no need to get upset.

  • You know, all I wanted to do is enjoy this FUCKING VIDEO without some guy ruining it for me and no doubt for everyone else. Who gives a shit who made what first? Who gives a shit whether you think the American one is better? I don't even give a shit that you got your information wrong- just let me watch these videos in peace. "mcsocrates" is a ignorant bastard who has no fucking brain and who surfs YouTube so that he can leave nasty comments. Well I'm not interested any more so LEAVE ME ALONE!!!

  • I like both the US and UK versions for entirely different reasons. Sometimes the UK version is too dragging and negative for my tastes. It really depends on my mood. I think they got a few great actors in the US version, and so there are things about it that I prefer sometimes. But the US version became unrecognizable as a mockumentary, and it went on for too long because of greedy fuckers. I don't think one is better than the other, and I think it's equally stupid to argue over it.

  • your all wrong, the french version was the original

  • @ranckgarman I have no idea where you heard that, but you're wrong...

  • @RoRoJovi come on man, it was a joke

  • what episode is this from?

  • @mcsocrates the British version was first in 2001, then it was made in America by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. So fuck off you ignorant prick

  • @chrisam91 You goddam british prick you think you know but you don't. The brits STOLE the office from the USA. They stole it and everybody in england is like what a great show we invented.

  • @mcsocrates How wrong you fucking are. Research before you act like the racist, xenophobical arsehole that you most evidentally are. I like both of them equally but have you ever wondered why the Producers are Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant in the American Office? If you're going to make a point- make it correct otherwise there's no point. Personally, this argument is invalid- they're both amazing in my eyes.

  • @thefartydoctor Why are you being so rude? I'm only saying the original american version is better than the gay brit remake. I don't know why you're taking this so badly. It's not a reflection on you personally.

  • @mcsocrates I'm bringing it to your attention that you are wrong (even after me telling you once before) that the British version came before the American version. They are both equally as good but that's one fact that you got wrong. It's nothing major. I also didn't like the way you handled @chrisam91's comment tbh. I'm gonna drop it but the lesson is (and I've had to learn this on previous occassions) that you shouldn't comment on something when you don't know the full picture. :-)

  • @thefartydoctor None of you seem to understand.

  • @thefartydoctor Ok I'm gonna keep this real simple because you're not getting it. The brits stole the office. They copied it off the usa version which was better. why aren't you getting this? are you retarded you goddam racist limey fuck?

  • @mcsocrates Right, I'll simply prove it to you: "The Office is a mockumentary/situation comedy TV show that was first made in the UK and has now been re-made in many other countries." This comes from: the Wikipedia article about the Office; how about "The Office is a British television comedy that first aired in the UK on BBC Two on 9 July 2001 and came before the US show." from chacha.com. GOODNESS SAKE!!!

  • @thefartydoctor what's your point?

  • @mcsocrates You keep xenophobically abusing brits here about us "stealing a show" (like anything like that is our fault) when it actually originated here in Britain. My point is simply that you have the right to argue as much as you like but if I were you (which I'm glad I'm not) then I would get my facts straight first. My point is also that you're making an argument that you have misunderstood and tbh you've made yourself look a bit of a dick on YouTube. Those reading this are laughing at you.

  • @thefartydoctor if it suits your racist agenda then ok go ahead and spread your lies you racist brit asshole but it's you everyone's laughing at my fine friend. and the queen of england can blow me you limey fuck.

  • @thefartydoctor you originated in Britain, in four different countries, thats remarkable

  • @thefartydoctor Nah, I'm laughing at you for not realizing you're so clearly being trolled.

  • @8nikolas8 Well at first, I was kinda like "this guy's fucking stupid" and then I got it but I carried on the argument cause I had nothing better to do at the time haha.

  • @mcsocrates Dude, on the chance that you aren't just being an ignorant troll and you really are stupid enough to think what you are typing, The Office was originally a UK show, it was made there and the idea originated there. Also, you should seriously consider shutting the fuck up. I am American and it's pretty embarrassing how dumb you sound here. People have opinions and obviously it's a matter of opinion on which version is best. You are the kind of person that gives us Americans a bad name.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI Dude you shouldn't be so defensive about being American.

  • @mcsocrates Defensive about being American? Where did you get that idea? I'm just calling you out on being a complete idiot lol..

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI Dude USA - we fuckin rule the world G

  • @mcsocrates Says the troll from the UK.. gtfo.

  • 9 11 mother fuckers

  • the american office got NOTHING on the ORIGINAL uk version...FACT

  • @LJayMusic18 False the US

version is hilarious the UK one is dumb

  • @omtaa i didnt say it wasnt funny jus not as good....and how can u say the uk 1 is dumb?...there wudnt be a US one iff it werent for us.

  • @LJayMusic18 o sorry i took it as u said the US version sucks my bad.....are u British cause if u are the British humor is better translated over there then here so my bad

  • @omtaa yer im from UK,yer american an uk comedy can be taken in all diff ways man, some people get it some dont

  • @LJayMusic18 WOW, I LOVE the way you EMPHASIZE only a few words to PROVE your point. GEniUs

  • @FanOfPopCulture amazing eint it

  • @LJayMusic18 im from UK and COMPLETELY DISAGREE

  • @LJayMusic18 yeah nothing but FUNNY scenes.... FACT

  • @LJayMusic18 I agree, but it's not a fact - that's opinion.

  • The brits always fuck it up when they try to copy american comedy

  • @mcsocrates Are you trying to incite rage on youtube comments, or are you genuinely as ignorant as you seem?

  • @chrisberridge no all i'm saying is the original american version is better and the brits should just leave it alone.

  • @mcsocrates So the latter is correct then, you are genuinely as ignorant as you seem. The American version with Steve Carell is a well received adaption of the British version. In fact I believe Ricky Gervais (creator and start of the British Office) co directed the early series of the American Office.

  • @chrisberridge who the fuck is ricky gervais? all i'm saying is the original american version is better than the uk copy. you don't need to be so rude. it's not my fault you're retarded.

  • @mcsocrates Enjoy the trolling whilst you can. One day you're going to have to move out of your parents house and get a job to fund the internet you need to keep trolling people :P

  • @chrisberridge who the fuck says 'whilst'? are you Victorian?

  • @mcsocrates

'Whilst' is still a common word used in every day speaking in England. We use it interchangeably with 'While'.

  • @Sillmech That's very interesting. Your input is much appreciated. Now please excuse me 'whilst' I slash my fuckin' wrists.

  • @mcsocrates

Haha this guy, I mean wow your so fuckin cool bro. The punchline: "'whilst' I slash my fuckin' wrists". Your a comedy mastermind dog.

Oh sorry I forgot you cant detect sarcasm. What I'm basically trying to say is: "Your a fucking unfunny tool please slash your wrists I want you to fucking die".

  • @Sillmech Jesus dude don't be cross, I'm only fucking with you.

  • @mcsocrates

Sorry, I got a little bit carried away there.

  • @chrisberridge haha you know, that "mcsocrates" has no idea what he's talking about. i doubt he realises how much of a knob he looks. btw- i say whilst and i am not Victorian? haha

  • @thefartydoctor get a room you limey fucks

  • @mcsocrates wow, you obviously have a wide range of vocab.

  • @thefartydoctor i'm going to have to break character for once just to say that's the gayest post ever.

  • @thefartydoctor chrisberridge received a reach-around whilst being pumped by thefartydoctor

  • @mcsocrates It's quite amusing that that's the only intelligeable thing that you can say now that we've both proved you to be wrong. Basically: toys... erm... out of the pram... :D You just need to grow up. :-)

  • @thefartydoctor Just ignore the douche bag, he is obviously a troll and his profile says he's from the UK. He may just be trying to impersonate an American just to try and further hatred towards my country. Or he may just be an ignorant assbundle. Either way, you should just ignore him.

  • @thefartydoctor oh god you write the faggiest things ever dude, you come across like a total nitwit.

  • @mcsocrates you would say that cause you're desperate to wriggle your way out of a situation that you can't win. you're pathetic.

  • @thefartydoctor None of you seem to understand. The superior American version was remade by the fag Brits. End of story. Now move on.

  • @mcsocrates If you say so.

  • @thefartydoctor At last you acknowledge that you were wrong. Well done. Implicit apology accepted.

  • @mcsocrates I reckon that when this argument started to get heated, you went to Wikipedia to research which came first and realised you were wrong. What does a pathetic loser like you do? Does he eat his humble pie? Nope- he continues to argue with me and the rest of the world because he's delusional. Hope you enjoy the rest of your shit, lonely life because this argument is over.

  • @thefartydoctor Anyway, it wasn't me who was saying stuff about the Office, it was another mcsocrates. I haven't seen the American Office

  • @mcsocrates Excellent and insightful comment. Never bothered to watch the Yank version of this, is it as shit as I imagine it is?

  • @DirkSchooner no it's actually really good. the brits should have left it alone. the brits are like, "lets take something really good and make it gay".

  • @mcsocrates not really, we like the dryer British accent, and their facial expressions. You may watch your version, we will watch the UK version. No big deal, i don't even know why i'm answering on this discussion!? LOL! Unbelieveble what stupid discussions there are on YT...BUT, you do know that the UK version is the ORIGINAL, and the US version is an ADAPTATION!?!? LOL, YOU FAILED on this one seriously!!!!

  • @periesicsd none of you seem to understand.

  • @periesicsd dude you don't understand. the superior american version is the original.

  • @mcsocrates the superior american like burger king customers, like superior fat people in a wheel chair making a train, like trailer park superior!?!?! like that, right!?!?!

  • @periesicsd You sound just as ignorant and embarrassing as the other dumbass that you are talking about. You should both just wander to the back of the bus and go to sleep.

  • @periesicsd totally nailed it dude

  • @mcsocrates this was made in the year 2000

  • Comment removed

  • love it when ricky furrows his brow, trying his hardest to be serious and not find it funny

  • the american version had better lines, esp. by dwight schrute, but the uk version was the template and ricky gervais is a world class comic. the us version also ran for 6 seasons longer.

its funny to see him crack up on scenes like this.

  • @tx502 erm r u retarded, hu d hell is ricky gervais? this guy is called david brent, hu cares about this shit copy of the proper office with steve carell.

  • @lx502 You're obviously trolling but fuck it, I'm biting. Steve Carell and Ricky Gervais both played the CHARACTER David Brent. The UK version was first, and better.

  • @blueb0g

No, they don''t. Michael Scott is an incredibly different character to David Brent. Michael Scott is far more innocent and child like.
