I saw it in Ontario, I wondered what it was... then I looked on the news and found out it was a meteor. Pretty cool. Of course it wasn't nearly as big, but I saw it going across the sky to the west from my yard at night.

When the meteoroid (space debris) entered our atmosphere it broke up into small fragments. You see it burn up because of the huge amount of friction. (when that happens a meteoroid is called a meteor or shooting star). The parts that actually make it through and land are called meteorites btw.

If you want to see more meteors, tonight is a great night to go out and look. The Geminid meteor shower is peaking and you'll see lots of shooting stars.

If the space station finds a life-threatening, humanity-killing asteroid that would kill us all and completely demolish whatever is in it path when it hits and causes an aftershock, they'd tell you about it.

Haha. I live on the Alberta and Saskachewan border and it landed near my house actually. Shook the whole house the glasses on the walls fell off. My dad and I found a chunk of the meteorite, just had it validated and they confirmed it is a meteroite :D! I must admit i almost pee'd i was outside playing catch under the streetlamp with my friends and saw that thing hurling then fall in the distant then BDJGHSFFHGGNSFBHDKJGJK whole ground shook my first guess was Aliens.
