man there are some bands i like to listen to, then there are some bands that the sound just resonates though me and i feel i actually am living inside the music i cant adequately describe it but this is one of those bands, since 83 love u stuart r.i.p.
Up in heaven Stuarts jamming with Hendrix,John Entwhistle John Lennon and John Bonham !! How cool would that be !! Tell ye what Jimi Hendrix will be well impressed by Stu` ! Peace Ye`all fi Scotland !!
The Edge has said how Stuart was a big influence to him ! Fair Dues !! Big Stu`s one of my biggist influences also ! Anybody know the Digital delay settings for the intro`?
@mikeofdoom I'm totally with you Mike, the 'edge is a pale imitation when compared to Stuart's guitar playing ability. Let's also not forget Nobo would sell his children to Satan to have some of the genuine charisma and vocal talent that Stuart Adamson had.
still sendsshivers down my spine .big country were awsome live ,always gave 100% did u all know the crossing got voted no1 album in scotland ,,i miss stuart and big country
I heard someone was compiling a top 5 Scottish songs just recently (Think Dignity by deacon Blue was No1) The Crossing deserves it though ! But Deacon Blue were pretty shit hot also !!
Unpredictable is what you are your brain has yet again ceased to function probably not for the first or last time so lets try kick starting it back into life with an extra dose of acid crack or whatever it is you are taking and just try to listen to what millions of other people think of what is one fucking great band !!!!!!
PS: Your brain is probably like a lift it does not go all the way to the top!
Is it because i mentioned Hash..?Thats a bit reactionery and judgemental dont ye` think!Ye` been watching that old scare movie "Reefer Madness"(see Hawkwind)! If you think BC sound awesome straight, after a blow it`ll be sending shivers up yer spine mate!Although they do that to me lucid as well sometimes!Yeeesh...!Look im not saying you should DO IT im just saying music can sound better!Peace ye`all!
You can't compare two bands as music is entirely subjective. You can comment on technical ability to a degree and Rush are superlative musicians all round and well recognised for it. BC country are no slouches either but I don't think get the recognition they deserve....I'm not a big Rush fan but I would never try to say BC are a better band even though I prefer them myself...
i like rush too and everyone has influences, like me, like 2 think i'm niel peart..lol.just enjoy both bands. but have a wee soft spot 4 big country cos they rock.
Hey hey hey, what are you talking about? Rush and BC are my favourite bands, but at their instruments Rush is the better, no doubt. I love BC aswell, and I do think Mark is a pretty neat drummer, but don't put them up against Rush.
Uhm... Hippie retards? You're fucking incredible mate. Alex, Geddy and Neil are pioneers at what they do! You were the one who first started comparing musicians. I suggest you look around on the tube, Rush ARE the better musicians. Still needs to be said though, I love BC!
Great band,Great Song,Great Shame.Bye Stu! His writing was very much in the "Folk-Rock" tradition and having just re-discoverd BC as an adult I'm blown away by the man's lyrics(eg-the songs on the "Steeltown" album-my personal favorite) I was into them in a big way between the ages of 12 and 15-and I didn't know anything then so I didn't realise how good those lyrics were then-I just knew I LOVED those tunes. Now I'm back into the band in a big way.
Know what you mean. My story is similar. I'm so into them again and totally awestruck by his lyrics! It's great to be able to appreciate them from an adult perspective. Stuart had such thoughtful wisdom. Perhaps this world is too much for someone who feels so deeply. Bless him!
Can't wait to see the boys tour again! Here's hoping for a 2008 US Tour. :)
This is by far my favourite YouTube video. Looking forward to seeing them at the Hexagon Reading. RIP STUART ADAMSON

They are so shit at being unpredictable musicians.
Every chorus is like listening to a dinner call from the head chef on D wing. They never came up with anything new, they simply shouted SCOTLAND
Yawn......
