  • Busby Berkeley was renowned as any for squeezing more talent and beauty onto a single sound stage than anyone could imagine...what fools these mortals be for surely we are amongst the Goddesses atop Mount Olympus!

  • Uma bela homenagem, inesquecível!!

  • Lilian Gish I thought was older in 'The Night of the Hunter' ( great movie BTW). I was blown away to see her here in this 1987 special. I was watching a clip of this w/Loretta Young standing next to the piano and the clip ended. Where in this special is that part? Loretta was an amazingly beautiful woman, even here in her 70's. What grace she had.

  • All these women ages so gracefully! What star power!

  • Me emocionei ao ver Alice Faye !

Está já idosa! Era o rosto mais lindo, mais precioso de Hollywood na década de 40! Ela fez vários filmes com Carmen Miranda! Eram muito amigas e fizeram diversos trabalhos juntas!

  • wow...such beautiful ladies. how old was hollywood when this aired? I'm not sure I understand what they mean by Happy Birthday. Is it the year that Hollywood was made as in the town? or the anniversary of the first movie?

  • Lilian Gish is the best, she was a legend!

  • Rest in peace, Cyd Charisse... No one will ever dance like you...

  • Wow, Lillian Gish... I'm lucky that she was alive long enough to be on this show.

  • This was Lillian's last public appearance she lived 6 more years and died at the age of 99.

  • I wonder if they got to pick out their own dresses.

  • I wonder why they chose to include Drew Barrymore. Not that I don't like Drew, I am a fan of hers but It seems a little odd that Drew is appearing with all these Hollywood legends. I guess because she has Hollywood royalty in her veins. *shrugs*

  • Also Alice Faye and Cyd Charisse- they married the same guy Tony Martin

  • It looked like they showed a pic of Bebe Daniels but

    she died long before 1987.

  • JUNE IS DARLING! But I wonder...was it an issue for Esther and Arlene to be on the same stage together after the Fernando Lamas fiasco? One would think so!

  • Great to see the old actresses. Got any more?

  • Thanks so much for posting this! It's so rare for some Drew footage to appear that I've never seen before. Really neat!
