have you read the book "inferno canto XXXIV"? I can really visualize the story through this song (especially when the Philippine Madrigal Singers are performing it). Sadly 6 people are drawn back to hell and were not able to see the light in the darkness. Surely they were not able to say "We beheld once again the stars". Shame on you dislikers :)

MADZ's selection of this song piece was the 'tour de force' of their performance. It had everything the judges would want to hear from the 'pianos' to the 'fortes' requiring a double choir, yet the ensemble was only about 20 people. I wouldn't be surprised if the judges were silently stunned by their powerful rendition. Kaya nga double champion sila and they are now feared by other competitors. A tough act to follow especially for incoming new MADZ members. Kudos and more power to MADZ...
If I were Stroope, I'd cry listening to this! Listen to that sound! It just makes you feel that you've achieved the greatest achievement any composer could have. Bravo. Madz truly delivers songs beyond expectation.

i listened to different interpretations of this piece and to me theirs is the best...they seem to savor each note while others come out hurried and rushed

this rendition is perfect! you can feel the passion of the group as they bestow their emotions when they sang the entire 2 full SATB choirs. the interpretation is so alive!!! how i love to hear the comments from the composer himself; the great sir z. randall stroope, if there's any.

Zane Randall released a few recordings of his works sung by he Mid-Atlantic Repertory Singers (MARS), Rowan University Concert Choir, Overbrook High School (New Jersey), University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Statesmen, Cherry Creek High School Meistersingers (Colorado). Such recordings include the piece I am not yours.
that's ok nelo, if saoidon is more concerned about is that the madrigals' sitting down while singing, and not how they sound, let him/her be. some people will always be concerned about the technical or non-musical part, and we need to let them be.
let those who feel the joy of heavenly sound have the equanimity of tolerating those who are deaf to such. :p
amen... saoidon is probably one of those 'wannabe' singers who never gets a chance for lack of talent. he gets annoyed when a group of singers is recognized.

Masaklap, di ba? Pero kung ako ikaw, sa iba ko na lang ibubunton ang frustrations ko, hindi sa Madz, kasi hindi naman nila kasalanan na naging mediocre lang ang choir mo. Mag- gantsilyo ka na lang kaya o kaya magbilang ng mga sasakyan para kahit papaano, may therapy ka para sa mga frustrations mo.

Beautifully sang. I can just imagine the effort of singing while seated; it is harder than it looks yet they sang very heavenly. Wow!

this rendition is perfect! you can feel the passion of the group as they bestow their emotions when they sang the entire 2 full SATB choirs. the interpretation is so alive!!! how i love to hear the comments from the composer himself; the great sir z. randall stroope, if there's any.

herob07, the composer just place the dynamics of the piece. what made you cry is how the music is interpreted. pms' interpretation i think bested the rest of other interpretations. this group is superb and a real world class. God speed pms.

@chelbau I am sorry I am not sure who sang that version. Zane Randall released a few recordings of his works sung by he Mid-Atlantic Repertory Singers (MARS), Rowan University Concert Choir, Overbrook High School (New Jersey), University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Statesmen, Cherry Creek High School Meistersingers (Colorado). Such recordings include the piece I am not yours.

that's ok nelo, if saoidon is more concerned about is that the madrigals' sitting down while singing, and not how they sound, let him/her be. some people will always be concerned about the technical or non-musical part, and we need to let them be.
let those who feel the joy of heavenly sound have the equanimity of tolerating those who are deaf to such. :p

amen... saoidon is probably one of those 'wannabe' singers who never gets a chance for lack of talent. he gets annoyed when a group of singers is recognized.

tsk yeah, it's actually harder to sing sitting down. and with costumes like that. if you listened to the other choirs they competed against, undeniably they are the best. 2 full SATB choirs is in this piece, and they sang it sitting down, without a conductor. no one has ever pulled that off. bite your tongue saoidonguez. and you should know why they are called MADRIGALS. that is their TRADEMARK position.

saoidonguez26, palagay ko dala lang yan ng inggit mo kasi yong paborito mong choir na kung saan member ka rin ay ni hindi mag-qualify sa EGP. Samantalang itong Madz, dalawang beses nang champion. Masaklap, di ba? Pero kung ako ikaw, sa iba ko na lang ibubunton ang frustrations ko, hindi sa Madz, kasi hindi naman nila kasalanan na naging mediocre lang ang choir mo. Mag- gantsilyo ka na lang kaya o kaya magbilang ng mga sasakyan para kahit papaano, may therapy ka para sa mga frustrations mo.
