My sidekick is so much better on gas, on the road, in acceleration, and not half as bouncy with a better, more comfortable driving position and there hasn't been a Jeep I couldn't kick the shit out of off road! Not to say Jeeps are not capable vehicles because they are. There are just vehicles out there that challenge their "best off road" reputation.

my dad bought a base model chevy in 2008 and u know what it came with? .. it is a half ton therfore the base model would be a v6 with only 2wd he paid 12 grand for it brand new so dont be telling me that it wasnt a base model.. id like to see u guys buy a truck with 4wd for that much.. 4wd is an option.. it costs more just like a v8 would cost more then the v6 option..... and as far as jeeps go dont buy that shit unless it is 4wd and a straight 6 unless u r trying to get good gas milege...

Its been everything, firewood truck, huntin rig, daily driver, even shuttles kids around town. all ive replaced is the shocks and the power steering pump. There's a reason that ford didn't have to beg the white house for money. Make the best trucks, and always will. And jeeps are severely overrated, unless its a rubicon. those are pretty capable.

And yes, you may have only had to do a few little things to your F-150, but you see, here's where Jeeps have you beat. They have the most powerful 6 cyl. engine ever made. hence the reason why FORD took the design for that motor and put it in some of their MUSCLE cars. Now let me guess, you have the gass guzzling V-8, rather than the Inline 6 that I have in mine. right?

6 in a row makes um go. and no there is a difference between a dodge, ford, and Chevy/gmc the dodge runs dana 80's front and rear, while the ford runs a dana 60, front and rear. and the dodges hold up, a lot better, motor, body, trans, axles, etc.

from 94-02 the 3/4's used dana 60 up front or 44 with a 5.9 v-8 gas. the v-10's and CUMMINS used dana 60's up front, so did all the 3500. in the back the 3/4's had dana 70 if it was an automatic. if it was stick it had a hybrid 80, meaning 80 centersection and 70 tubes. ALL 3500 used dana 80's.

the 03-present dodge's use AAM axles

powerjokes used problematic dana 50's up front and other used 60's. in the back i think they used sterling axles or something like that.

i personally own a 01 dodge 3500, a 97 f350 stroker, and a 04 dodge 3500. the ford runs dana 60's, FRONT and REAR, the dodge runs a dana 80 rear, if its a dually correct, but they also run one in the front. fords better idea run by I HOP.

@kasea150jim Your best bet is do what I am doing with my S10. Buy one tire with one paycheck, another tire with the next one. And in 4 paychecks, you will have the tires. And a lift isn't hard. Get an older truck, it's 200 dollars for a Conversion kit to put a solid axle in it (Unless you get an old Ford) and just do 4 Suspension lift and 3 Body, cut the fenders a bit and you can clear 40's. :)
