Yet Floyd was a extremely good dancer. Just look at him in some of the other Ruby Flipper videos on here. Flick Colby, the choreographer was very progressive in her ideas for this new dance group in 1976, unlike the stupid BBC management at the time who were sexist and racist. Such a shame Ruby Flipper weren't allowed to go on longer. Their routines are sometimes quirky but always interesting

The BBC producers cravenly folded to "public opinion"! Luckily however, Arlene Philips had more freedom to do what she wanted with her troupe, knew how trends were changing and knowa talent when she sees it - so after the end of Ruby Flipper, Floyd went straight on to join Hot Gossip and to become their best-known male dancer.

Notice how little stage time the 2 male dancers get? Already their involvement had been scaled right down to f-all just 2 months after their introduction. Ruby Flipper were criticised non-stop all that summer by the Great British Middle-Aged Tabloid-Reading Male and the tabloids obliged by taking up the man-moans in non-too-specific terms- which still amounted to the fact that leching old man viewers didn't want to see blokes dancing with those precious girls - and especially not a black bloke.
