  • i mis sato

  • 2004 was my favorite year. The fastest (and best looking) cars in F1 - EVER.

  • awesome!

  • Must be awesome to have such a lap in your home country!

  • 1:45 priceless!!! didn't remember this!

  • 1:45

  • japanese commenteators are way more fun to listen to

  • I love how the commentators were so engrossed in his driving that they forgot to do their job!

  • I LOVE listening to Japanese F1 announcers. I got all giddy when they reacted to the first sector times. That was an awesome video though, great to see the reactions when he went P1.

  • I LOVE listening to Japanese F1 announcers. I got all giddy when they reacted to the first sector times.

  • how the hell did he hold it at the last chicane?! that was an epic correction and he still outqualified button!

  • man i wonder what will happen if takuma and kobayashi race together in a better team.

  • Japanese commentary is the best. I have no idea what they are saying but somehow it expresses everything perfectly.

  • Lucky Strike

  • Wow, when I see this I miss Takuma even more. Sato and Lewis Hamilton would mix up the whole F1 field.

  • Comment removed

  • Can we have Japanese commentary on the red button next season? Love it!!!

  • i still don't know how he gathered it all up at the end and still went quicker then JB!

  • i love the Japanese

  • what a save at the end

  • The Suzuka hairpin is now known as "Kobayashi hair" =)

  • amazing lap, even if it is with traction controle, top driver.

  • Damn that was a great save at the end of the lap.

  • The real F1

  • Ahhh...the good old days. I wish that F1 still had the '04-spec cars.

  • LOL these commentators are fucking funny

  • These Japanese commentators are intense.

  • You can really hear the difference between these engines and the 2009 engines what with the rev limiters being set at a measly 18,000 for 2009.

  • @danthemanpatrick

You're right. V10 engines were so much better.

In a few years we will have less than 500 hp or what? ridiculous...

But nevertheless I'm excited to see the new season next weekend !

  • It hurts me to think of an F1 car with less than 700 horsepower. I also am hella stoked about seeing MS back for 2010. It will so fun to see how much his age might effect his driving ability. Now that he's 40, maybe someone will be able to catch him! [probably not though]

  • @danthemanpatrick not so bad if the car is lighter, power to weight ratio might be the same. Similar to what IndyCar is doing with their new spec in 2012, car will be lighter and have similar power to weight ratio as to when they had 900hp!

  • 1600 turbocharged tsi :p

  • I got a chill down my spine listening to that awsome v10

  • sugoi soundo = amazing sound 0:33

Honda engine, Honda track, Japanese driver. It's a beautiful day in Suzuka.

  • Very confident that one of the commentators is the "DRIFT KING" Keiichi Tsuchiya.

  • Lewis Hamilton makes at least as many mistakes as Sato did. I'm sure if he had a top car he would be winning races and would be forgiven for his occasional cock-ups. In retrospect Sato really should've been given Bourdais' seat at STR. Forget testing times, there's no substitute for qualifying and race pace.

  • true they can be like trulli set 1 gd lap but them can they set those laps consistently would be crazy to see sato in a mclaren but never gonna happen mclaren r too rcist

  • @foxtrotalphaone

Making lots of errors and being a great driver suprisingly do not always coincide.

  • @foxtrotalphaone i totally agree with u, i think sum of the f1 drivers in f1 shouldnt be in f1 not that i dont like them its just that, many f1 drivers are better and will giv better results and an exciting f1

  • @foxtrotalphaone Actually Lewis is one of the most error free drivers on the grid. He makes mistakes, but generally fewer than most.

  • @toons123 I don't want to make a fuss about it, but I noticed your comment was posted about a year after mine, and yes, Lewis was pretty error free this season.

  • Did he actually get pole position?

  • @MP423Fan no I he was 4th in the end I think

  • sato rocks

  • 1.46 - fuck a duck! lol!

  • 0:44.........life and death just coincided

  • I hope takuma gets a seat in f1 this season, since the introduction of the new rules in f1 its really upto how good the driver is rather than the cars and i think takuma sato is among the best drivers in f1 so it would be great to see him in action again :D

  • Not really, it is clarly evident that the defuser cars (except from Red Bull) are a lot more stable and faster than the rest. However, Sato was one of the most gutsy drivers out there, he was extremely fast but was occasionally making mistakes, he was definitely great to watch.

  • That Honda V10 sounds amazing!

  • 琢磨の走りをまたF1で見たい。。

  • You got frostbite on your what?

  • I don't remember this, what a fricking amazing lap in tricky conditions. I hope Taku gets back into F1, he deserves it!

  • takuma on fire amazing attack

  • thats 2004!

  • すごい、さすがですね、佐藤琢磨。

    早くブルデーとのトロロッソのシート争いを制して、またF1に戻ってきてほしいです。

  • 2004 you idiots!

  • Awesome at the chicane! People consider Sato a mad kamikaze driver, and admitedly he was a little lairy at times. But given the decent 2004 BAR, he was a great driver.

  • that's 2004, not 2005

  • No that is 2005

  • that's 2004.

    2005 was raining.

  • Ahh yes thank you for correcting me.

  • the last chicane, what an effort to keep the car on track and still hold his advantage to Button in time... Taku is great!

  • cool move

  • hahaha

great Takuma Sato.. we love him because of this

    Go Takuma!!!

  • ahahahaha good slide at the chicane, whoooo hes good.

  • that last chicane was suck a fluke lol

  • This video is the 2004 GP Qualify. What a great move in the chicane!
